OK, earlier I commented about how I can't defend Ning'er bc she literally sabotaged Xie Wei's plans in the recent eps and put their safety in danger.
After giving some more thought to it, I blame both Xie Wei and Ning'er. They agreed to communicate and work together but she didn't tell him about using Zhou to visit Yan Lin in the jail and he didn't tell her about the new plans he made including the jail incident and mission with Zhang Zhe. No one communicated properly as agreed, especially Xie Wei. This led to all the MESS. Heck even Zhang Zhe is to blame, he took the matters into his own hands and made Ning'er tag along like he was going on some field trip. She could've hid somewhere and waited for Zhou to clear up the mess in the jail and find her.
but yea, im concluding that if Xie Wei and Ning'er aren't together, its a mess and if Zhang Zhe and Ning'er are together, its a mess 🤣

It's for the best that Xie Wei didn't reincarnate. Ning'er was sad only during the last few days of her life when she realized what she actually did and how her loved ones ended up because of her greed. On the other hand, Xie Wei was hurting throughout the story, his literal name conveys his traumas. It's better for him to not remember what happened in their past lives.
Yan Lin getting nightmares of the past life in the present one is a way to repent for how he treated and abused Ning'er towards the end of their past life. He feels guilty and also feels better that she's with Xie Wei who treats her well.
& Xuening reincarnating changed the fates of many people like her sister, Shen Jie, the current emperor's pregnant consort lives for the better.
Mainly, we also get a satisfying ending where Xie Wei and Ning'er are so in love as husband and wife and give birth to phoenix twins 😉😊❤️

I feel like many wouldn't be on Zhang Zhe's side if he didn't reincarnate with Ning'er. Saw some comments where they were wondering why Zhang Zhe reincarnated too bc it doesn't seem to serve any purpose. It might be his second and proper chance at being together with Xuening. He put his principles aside for her last life and didn't deserve all that he faced. No one did so this might be fate's way of giving all the characters a second chance. This is why I feel like not just Ning'er but everyone in the story is getting a proper second chance to change their fates.

Even though they don’t end up together, his reincarnation allows him to protect Jiang Xuening in ways he couldn’t in their past life. Zhang Zhe is aware of Jiang Xuening’s rebirth but chooses not to reveal it to her because he knows that she would feel guilty if she found out.
