I hope we got more flashbacks of FLs relationship with ML when she was still wearing her mask, because she seemed really cozy to him right at first meeting as He Yan, so I think they were really close before they had a fallout
Its been a long-time since a Cdrama had me so invested, I gave up sleep for this. The last time I did this was for Ten Miles Peach Blossoms and Nirvana in Fire.
I'm a simple person, if I never skipped a scene, its THAT good. I will miss this couple that I just had to write a review and I don't think I've written everything I want to say.
Nonetheless, its a well-written love story with insane chemistry.
Now on ep 28 and I just want to say that I'm losing sleep over this drama 🥹 I love it so much that I haven't skipped any scenes because I'm the type who hates royal politics, so I fast forward those scenes, but here, I watch everything. Xie Zheng and Changyu are so beautiful together 🥹
I just started this, now on ep 4, and little Changning is sooooo cute! Also, how many times did ZLH have arranged marriages in his costume dramas? 😄
IU is so perfect in this. She's hard carrying this drama and idc what other says. Anyway I just noticed the pettiest things, and lmao when the investigators broke in Yi-an's residence with bunch of boxes, like what exactly are they planning to confiscate in Huiju's room? I would think she only brought clothes with her but why were there even folders? HAHA.
Finally done! I watched this because I'm craving for revenge dramas after The Glory (Kdrama) and as a revenge drama, its pretty satisfying, she ran them through the mud, and even gained a new lover for it. There are parts I don't really agree with, but the closing episodes had been underwhelming, like they were running on a tight schedule and needed a closer so bad, and the finale made me like...okay?
anyone else really disappointed in the last 6 eps? it was a 10/10 for me before that, and then it really shifted...…
I feel this, like they build up so much on the rebellion and they didn't deliver much, very anticlimactic. And Xiao Heng's trusted aides died right at the ending?! Speaking of, don't get me started on the ending...I'm all for open endings but maaaan
Currently watching this and I think this will be one of the few C-dramas I won't be dropping. Anyway, I'm on ep 30 and in the past episodes, I feel like Jiang Li is so imposing on the Ye's. The Ye's aren't part of her revenge, so it's so unfair they have to house her sick father and that she had been taking advantage of her Shijie, basically making him her gofer, just because she knew he has feelings for her. That part was really annoying. I also get the part that she wants to make it hard for her ex-husband, but her insistence to play the main part for the Zhao delegation was just weird, I don't think it should be part of her vendetta. Also, I know her actions also benefits Xiao Heng, but I feel like the amount of help she's getting is disproportion to what she's giving Xiao Heng. She doesn't even want to be questioned but she can make 100x demands.
After 2 episodes, I'll definitely continue watching this. I hate the politics-side, I have this strong urge to skip the Queen Mother scenes, but I'm holding strong so far. I feel bad for His Majesty, he is a just a kid! I like IU here, her character kinda reminds of JJH's Cheon Seong-Yi, who is very unapologetic, the only difference is that IU's chara is also book-smart. But yeah, I love Hui Ju's spunk and pizzazz, and I hope she stays that way for a very long time. I hate it when a strong character becomes weepy in the presence of a man. Leave that weepy to the ML for a change. Yi-An is so-so, like I get where his loneliness stems from, but I'm really more interested with HuiJu. I've seen criticisms of his acting, but there's really not much to work on with a character like that. Maybe he'll have more "human" scenes in the next episodes. Also, it's not the actors fault, but when they panned the camera at him with slow-mo, a dreamier filter, and sharp takes on his best angles, that trend has to stop. It's just becoming cringe.
His fans have problem with judging his ( non existent) acting after 1 ep but have no problem with rating this…
Fans like those are the reason why I skipped a lot of dramas, if the comments are 99% about visuals, I'll never watch it no matter how much people rave about it.
