Yeap…Xing for her and Chen for him. She started the company when they were together and he invested a couple hundred thousand to help her. They’d been in a relationship for 7 years and everyone assumed it would turn into marriage. It wasn’t mentioned but I’m inferring that she was probably thinking that in future when he was ready they’d both run it together since they’re basically in the same industry. He’s just more conservative and she’s more spontaneous when it comes to making opportunities. He was more or less indulging her and whether it worked out or not, she at least tried. If it didn’t work out, he’s successful enough to support them.

Yeah…I think the character in LCR wasn’t really up her alley. Also, this character hides everything behind a smile. Seems like she learned to do that at a young age based on the flashbacks.

In the novel they set a time frame for when they’d actually go all the way but until then, they had a lot of steamy make-out sessions and kept having to remind each other of the date so that they didn’t cross the line before it was time. 🤣

That was before they decided to surprise air ep 15 & 16 over the weekend so now the schedule has been moved up by 2 episodes. Someone posted a new calendar.

That was their second time pairing together too. I think it was how her character was portrayed and the script because their BTS was cute. Her character here isn’t as doom and gloom as the one in Light Chaser Rescue.

LOL…those kiss scenes are straight out of the novel so I think most of the romance scene are going to be real from now on. Tencent has two novel adaptations (this one and As Beautiful As You) that had very steamy 🔥 scenes in the novels so waiting to see how much of it they’re going to actually show.

I’m waiting on ep 19 for the flashback in his perspective to show why they broke up. The trouble with Veilin and Feng Jun was their senior year and the gaming/online dating was their freshman year. I’m wondering if it has something to do with his dad and little brother. The timing is about right based on his brother’s age. Present time is 5 years after college graduation (how long he’s been bound to Veilin). His dad is always causing him trouble that inadvertently interferes with him and XY like how he had to miss the B-Day and leave in HS.

I didn’t watch ROTLF but I saw a lot of critical comments. It’s hard for me to watch Esther Yu dramas. Was going to give LBFAD a try but couldn’t get past the first episode. Think it’s because of the baby voice that is used for her dubbing. I have a hard time with baby voices for FL and tend to drop those dramas. Think that’s why I had a hard time watching Yang Zi and Zhao Lusi in their earlier dramas. Love them in their more current ones though.

I do like the balance of the romance and business in this drama as well as the chemistry of he leads.

I think he already found out when he said he “may have fallen in love with someone he shouldn’t”. It was after Chen Shan called him while XY was in the hospital. That’s one of the reasons why he decided to leave Veilin earlier than planned so that he can be in better standing professionally and financially to be in a relationship with her.

In the novel, he’s his half brother from his father’s former secretary turned girlfriend turned wife. She’s one of the reasons his dad lost their money and got into debt in the novel. She left them and then he left the kid with ML. Waiting to see how they do that backstory.

Went back to read and realized they have quite a bit of car scenes in the novel. Talking, making out and then that one s*x scene.

2. Lu Dong is just a neighbor who has a crush on her but she has no feelings for him. There’s really no main 2ML. Each guy or girl that likes either one of then is short lived. He just shows up a few more times than others cause they’re neighbors.

As Beautiful As You novel had a shower scene and this one had a car scene. Like harlequin novels 😆 just haven’t seen them executed in normal c-dramas.
