Plus the Tuscan earthquake; the new year's eve brawl; the car scene with the gifts; i think it is going t be fast
I feel like the New Year’s Eve brawl won’t be in it or it will be changed because they already had the reunion and Feng Jun showed up earlier in the drama than in the novel. But we’ll see how it’s played out in the drama.
When ML ruthlessly killed the annoying girl's character in the PC game 'coz that girl kept on killing FL's character.…
Loved that he made it pretty obvious instead of multiple oops like that girl did. Love that about XYS’s character…very straight forward when it come to his personal life.
They have 16 eps left to officially become bf/gf and start a long distance relationship. They have to get rid of Li Chi, Li Qin, old Yang and the other cronies that are dragging the whole Donghe group down trying to take over the company. XYS leaving, XY taking over everything from grandpa but doing it her way, cameos by XYS’s parents and XYS realizing his dreams. Feng Jun was only a blip in the novel and not seen again after his confrontation with XYS.
After today's episode we can see that both xu yanshi and Xiang yuan have suffered differently but still xu yanshi's…
Yeah they both had parents who didn’t prioritize their children/family but at least Xiang Yuan had her grandparents, especially the grandma. Xy Yanshi had no one. After reading the novel I understood more how they were able to intersect in childhood because they have different backgrounds in the present but his family was wealthy in the distant past.
Yeah…he’s been screwed over since he was a kid and he’s continuously overlooked at the company because of…
Yes. Both his parents were actually from 2nd generation rich backgrounds. His mom left his dad and became an award winning architect in the US. She actually was more fluent in English than Chinese which is why in the novel, ML was fluent in English. She stayed rich. The dad on the other hand had an affair with his secretary and got cheated in business and money, losing everything, getting into debt. ML was basically left on his own to take care of himself and deal with his dad’s issues.

In the novel it was the grandpa and his secretary who did the investigation on ML about participating in the competition which allowed ML to resign from Veilin. After that, he just warned FL that ML wasn’t good because he thought ML was someone who used women (Chen Shan) to lift himself up and didn’t realize that ML was actually a tech genius because his projects were always suppressed by the cronies in management. Once Grandpa realized from the professor that ML was actually a tech genius that was coveted by major companies he didn’t have anything else to say. That was the extent of his interference. After that the leads kept their relationship a secret until FL’s family business was in trouble and ML went to his mom for help with $.
I don't care what others say but I feel soo bad for XYS....feels like everyone just keeps bullying him...I hope…
Yeah…he’s been screwed over since he was a kid and he’s continuously overlooked at the company because of lack of “connections”. If they stick to the novel, things get better professionally when he leaves Veilin but he’ll really gets emotionally screwed over by his father one more time before things start going in the right direction. I hope they stick to the novel in FL’s support of him because I don’t think they break up once they get together. On chapter 70 so far.
I’m thinking maybe it’s to leave room for FL’s character growth? In the MV, it seems that she’ll mature…
Lol…I can see that. She was basically tricked by her grandfather to get some “real life experience” since she has been living freely with no responsibilities to mature her. I’ve felt annoyed at my fair share of similar characters in many C-dramas.
Yeah…explained in ep15. No wonder he had to give up the job offer at the top company for a struggling one.
Yeah…it looked like his true colors came out in college. They were friends and he completely abandoned them to clean up his mess. Most likely the pressures from his father but he’s still a jerk.

That jerk set him up and left him hanging. Years later he’s still a douche.
Love seeing Zhang bin in in suits…the best part of Be Together. In the novel, he’s in suits more after leaving Veilin cause of his new job. Hope they stick to that since so far it’s fairly close to what I’m reading.
That’s where I recognized him. He was the jerk ex-boyfriend/antagonist in Be Together.
His character in Be Together was so toxic. He’s a pretty good actor. The actress that plays Li Qin plays the same scheming character whether she’s wearing modern clothes or historical costumes, I don’t see a difference so she seems to have limited range maybe?

His character in the novel wasn’t that prominent and was actually more of a tool for Li Qin’s schemes and it seems they’ve stuck with that so he won’t get as much screen time as Be Together since he’s not the main antagonist. But I’m only halfway through the novel.
Yeap. I wonder how his character is going to play out in the drama. In the novel, she did date Feng Jun the third wheel guy. In the novel FL actually dated around a lot between HS and when they met again.
Machine translation… it’s not a great translation but I’m used to it now.
