They have to get rid of Li Chi, Li Qin, old Yang and the other cronies that are dragging the whole Donghe group down trying to take over the company. XYS leaving, XY taking over everything from grandpa but doing it her way, cameos by XYS’s parents and XYS realizing his dreams. Feng Jun was only a blip in the novel and not seen again after his confrontation with XYS.

Yeah they both had parents who didn’t prioritize their children/family but at least Xiang Yuan had her grandparents, especially the grandma. Xy Yanshi had no one. After reading the novel I understood more how they were able to intersect in childhood because they have different backgrounds in the present but his family was wealthy in the distant past.

Yeah…he’s been screwed over since he was a kid and he’s continuously overlooked at the company because of lack of “connections”. If they stick to the novel, things get better professionally when he leaves Veilin but he’ll really gets emotionally screwed over by his father one more time before things start going in the right direction. I hope they stick to the novel in FL’s support of him because I don’t think they break up once they get together. On chapter 70 so far.

Lol…I can see that. She was basically tricked by her grandfather to get some “real life experience” since she has been living freely with no responsibilities to mature her. I’ve felt annoyed at my fair share of similar characters in many C-dramas.

I’ll take it if they open up fast track…the MV and previews of when they’re together is really cute.

Love seeing Zhang bin in in suits…the best part of Be Together. In the novel, he’s in suits more after leaving Veilin cause of his new job. Hope they stick to that since so far it’s fairly close to what I’m reading.

His character in Be Together was so toxic. He’s a pretty good actor. The actress that plays Li Qin plays the same scheming character whether she’s wearing modern clothes or historical costumes, I don’t see a difference so she seems to have limited range maybe?

His character in the novel wasn’t that prominent and was actually more of a tool for Li Qin’s schemes and it seems they’ve stuck with that so he won’t get as much screen time as Be Together since he’s not the main antagonist. But I’m only halfway through the novel.
