No money for special school classes for gifted cause stepmom didn’t like him. Sister was the only one that cared about ML and his mom (cause their presence diverted the bullying away from her). His mom died young and he died his hair blond as a way to show he was different from the crazy family.

He really had a tragic back story. I think his back issues in the novel was from his brothers beating him up really badly.

I agree that she shouldn’t have interfered to begin with. However, to be fair, in dramaland the only way to deal with Zhang Xiaobei’s behavior/power was to have a bigger trump card which is her dad’s connection. She held out even when the website was stolen from them. Zhang Xiaobei’s lesson, treat people with dignity and fairness, you never know where they came from. At first I couldn’t understand her power over the faculty and thought it was maybe because she was related to the company owners.

That’s when e’s in his 60’s and after they’ve gotten married and had children.

I understand Gao’s feelings but at the same time I feel he made himself into a machine after the second incident when before, he would have stood up for himself which made Li Zhun respect him and bring him into the app project. Waiting to see his back story to understand his retreat into and worker bee. I’m thinking it might be something similar to Li Zun’s background (possibly the poor part, not sure about the abuse part since only saw a bit of the novel translation). Where back in high school of his hometown, he was the top scorer, he is no longer the smartest in college. When it was just an issue of Li Zun’s smarts/narcissism, he was able to handle it since there was something to gain through collaboration. Now it’s known that Zhu Yun is really a Princess with connections. He’s really feeling inferior and betrayed since he was kept out of the loop. I’ve also been wondering if he has feelings for Zhu Yun since she took his side all the time in the beginning. So as time goes and they build something successful together, he’s still the odd man out which can lead to betrayal at the right opportunity. The company is named L&P, Lighter & Princess/Lucky & Power, bias to their relationship versus a representation of the three of them?

Her character so far isn’t too obsessive. I agree that when they break up, she can try her chance but out of respect for LB and their working relationship, she shouldn’t make herself a 3rd party while LB is taken. Just my opinion. Alls fair when LB and ZY breaks up until LB draws the line. What annoys me is when characters don’t get the hint once the line is clearly drawn and they’re rejected. She doesn’t seem to have too prominent a role in here and there’s only 6 episodes so we won’t have to suffer through the obsessive 3rd party thing (those that watched Rebirth for You knows what I’m talking about).

Lol…I hope her action in ep 36 will end her interactions with LB. I feel like he was okay before because aside from the fake hike accident, she didn’t do anything rash. It’s been college/friend actions but she’s going to cross the boundary with the hug and maybe confession? All the times she’s tried to put her two cents into his private life since the first episode, he’s shut her out.

I feel you. Though I’m a sucker for ending spoilers but have learned that a majority of c-dramas stray greatly from the novels so the dramas are always viewed as standalone for me. Sometimes, I just look to see if it’s something I might want to read later.

It seems they completely changed the Zhao character from the novel to create this business rivalry plot so it better be good…lol. From what I saw in the novel, he marries Fei’er and was giving ML pointers on how to win FL back. Fei’er also didn’t have that big of a role, but more of a shadow character from the past so they merged Fei’er with her cousins character in the drama.

I understand both their POVs so that’s why no judgement on either character for me. That’s where I think the communication is needed. It’s 2FL crap that FL wanted to get away from but she was willing to stay in Hupu initially for him and their business/family needs. I think she would have stayed by his side and that’s where he’s being protective of her. Her staying by his side would put her in danger so having her misunderstand him and stay away was better from his perspective.

I hope the dispute between the brother’s is an act to get Zhao to think he’s won.

That’s what I’m thinking too, that there has to be something more to it to cause elder Xiao’s death. I was thinking, either they were the cause of something with Zhao’s father/mother or some secret family link that also may have been the cause of his brother’s accident. Though the fathers compared their sons, they were family friends and Xiao family helped Zhao family start out their business. Zhao is oldest/around same age as ML’s brother so knowing how sometimes these dramas go, I was thinking the other reason might be a secret blood tie…maybe a love triangle between the parents and Zhao was a byproduct? …my imagination running wild 🤣

I really couldn’t help but notice the names for the youngest CP. The actress is Ting Ting playing a character named Ding Ding whose paired with Ming Ming. I think DD pausing the marriage registration was the most sensible thing she’s done so far. Regardless of how nonsensical she may be at times, there are a few good conversations between her and ZY.

Let’s see how they ZY’s character growth since it looks like they start getting back together ep 37/38 from the previews.

Actually the truth based on the Captain’s confession to ZY is that he didn’t save LB first. He ignored LB’s parents cries for help and went to his wife first which then caused the secondary collapse that killed his wife and LB’s parents. LB was the only survivor after the secondary collapse. Basically LB survived because his mother shielded him with her own body during the secondary collapse based on LB’s flashbacks.

I’ve had similar thoughts about her character when it comes to the ML. She still has to get through her self confidence with anything linked to him. Let’s see how their character grows. I’m glad they changed his character from the novel.

Ok…I guess that’s why MDL says 22 ep.

They’re no longer a prominent family. If you noticed everyone turned their backs on them and didn’t attend the funeral except for Gao guy who showed up late. They were oppressed by Zhao. If the family doesn’t put the info out, it probably won’t get covered. Not every death is news.

Is this shown in 2 seasons? The schedule shown in the photos has a broken heart at ep22 and “to be continued” on there.

However, I think that hug in ep 36 preview will wake ML up about the asst. He’s pretty straight forward about relationships so I hope he’ll set her straight after that.

Yeah. Not relationship behavior to not share such events with your girlfriend.
