Lackluster plot, but had amazing characters and great casting. The characters had layers to them and the whole cast had great chemistry. I think this had a lot of potential, but fell short. It's definitely still worth a lighthearted watch.
I really liked the concept, but the acting is very iffy. Julia is exceptional, as is Nicholas, but Sang Heon is very awkward. His accent sounds too posh and "fancy" to fit his character and he just seems to be too hyperaware in each scene making his body language and line delivery really stilted. Even compared to filipino shows where the acting tends to be a bit lower quality, he stands out as awkward.
but it was cute until he completely turned into a different person
He was a gentle, sweet, and warm character for 90% of the show. Him acting crazy and abusive like that went against his entire character and made me hate the last few eps. Did the writers forget who their audience was? We were all here for the kind househusband not the typical domineering abusive ML.
Why is everyone in this show late 20s or mid 30s? What casting director went out of their way to cast ONLY fully grown adults?? The youngest high school actor is 27 and the oldest is 34!
The backstory made no sense. The older brother had some severe issues from all the pressure so he frequently assaulted his younger brother. The parents, caring about their reputation, just overlooked it? They didn't separate them or do anything to stop the abuse from happening? After the brother kills himself, the parents then hide the death and place the same pressure that killed their older son onto the younger? The Dad actually hits the younger brother knowing he used to get assaulted all the time? Why is it okay for the mom to get therapy, but not the kids? It's just an ill-written trauma backstory with no nuance.
They didn't even dive into the fact that the ML uses fighting as a way to self-harm. Alice the secret weapon does a way better job with that concept. The ML here doesn't have ptsd, but continues to harm himself in the same way that his brother did to him. Why? Because he loved his brother, because he's punishing himself, or because he feels a sense of control over his life? They just gloss over everyone's reasonings, motives, and speedrun everything.
It feels like they took inspo from weak hero class one, boyhood, and the boxer webtoon. All inspo, no substance.
No one has the right kind of intensity and intimidating presence. These characters need to make the viewers feel scared of them and for them. The characters being innocent looking children doing horrendous things is supposed to add to that level of horror, but the fact that everyone looks thirty is really taking me out.
It's cliche, badly casted, they have all the right components for a good story, but the execution is just poor.
I thought I was going into a romcom with fashion elements, but it's mostly been business drama and politics with slight romance. Even though cream and tul are cute, I'm dropping at 3. This is veryyy boring.
This was fun, but the ending definitely left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I honestly felt bad for Lin. It…
The time skip honestly did make sense, especially since they were in different milestones in their life. But having Kata kiss aim while with Lin and then the ending being the opposite feels like a cheap way to end it. The reason why Kata and Lin were so interesting to watch is because with every mistake they made, they were honest with each other, and grew from it. Lin was messy but sincere and learnt the whole time. Kata was sweet but immature and slowly grew as well. But we didn't get to see that growth in the end.
