It seems fcking kisshk got my episode 11 of dokukoi. I’ll skip releasing the final episode on hardsub on tuesday.…
Thank you for your hard work. However, to be honest, this outcome was inevitable. Anything shared on the internet tends to get copied and redistributed (with or without permission), it’s simply the nature of the internet. It is not respectful but it is what it is.
Even multi-billion-dollar companies like Warner, Netflix, and Adobe have poured immense resources into combating this with DRM technologies, yet they’ve totally failed to stop piracy.
I don’t quite understand why fansubbers take this issue so personally. Isn’t the essence of fansubbing to bring joy to others and help them discover Japanese culture? Is it fine punishing these people because some obscure sites, which no one can do anything about, reuploads them? I don't think so.
For those eager to watch episode 12 before Christmas, you can automatically subtitle it using OpenAI's Whisper. The results with the large-v2 model on Japanese are very close to human-level work, although there are occasional mistakes.
You can watch it on Drama-Otaku, they have 10 episodes subbed. Forget about Netflix. The subber is Oshiroen.
It's a website where users can upload fan made subtitles (for japanese stuff). https://drama-otaku.com/ The registration process is quite tedious, but there is a lot of subtitles there.
This is probably my favorite Japanese BL of the year. The pacing is good, the chemistry is amazing, and it has both heartwarming, funny, and sad moments, with a little bit of mystery. I love the intro song too.
While waiting for the next episode, does anyone have suggestions for dramas where the model student falls for the troublemaker (like this one or High School Return of a Gangster) ? Ideally something serious, not a comedy.
I hate this trend of vertically filmed drama. What's the point of using 30% of the screen when you can use 100%... Hardly an innovation.

A lot of mediocre/average stuff.
