I'm glad you took the time to promote Taiwanese dramas. I think they're underrated because of the lack of subs as the subbers now get more money from translating Cdramas.

Oh only my guess. Cos ML's mother is so against relationship between her daughter and a mere son of the family's chaffeur. I believe she will be against ML's relationship with poor FL, too, since she likes ML's old friend. So something serious must happen that eventually she'll agree with both relationships.

The scene is a setup for their connection. On the relationship chart, it's shown "Young brother fell in love with older sister". At this point, they cannot meet through Heng Wei-Jing Cen connection, as the sister is not supposed to know about Heng Wei.
So probably enemies-to-lovers trope, although we don't know if she'll end up with Yu Quan or Heng Da.
I checked the relationship chart pic you uploaded and there's a note in their relationship. I think that might be the case although they don't realize it yet. 😊
