I'm so happy the 2ml gives him a chance to be childish with his territorial jealousy. When or where else would he have gotten the chance to behave like this? His life hasn't allowed for it.
You'd have problems if chen yi had girlfriends....but since its miao jing ofc you loved that.
Co soldering his past and situation, I don't think he'd date. I think he'd have slept with women, but not dated them. Especially when he was abroad. During that horror, probably losing himself in someone would probably have kept him a bit saner. However, his mind was full of surviving and MJ. He never fell out of love with her.
I need my black flags to be obsessed with their love interest. I have only seen the first episode properly, but what i have seen of the other two has me waiting...
Halfway through ep 10.... I can't shake the feeling in my gut that something VERY bad is going to happen to either…
The moment she showed up at the police station all smiley and adorable, I was like "oh no. You're too adorable. You're ENGAGED to the police officer? Oh no... Oh no, you're not going to make it.... maybe neither of you - but definitely not you!"
Huh? Based on the episode, we only know what she knows. Flashbacks and confessions should come as we go along…
I didn't mention reading nor books. All stories have narrative structure. MJ doesn't know what happened back then. We will know when she finds out. Episodes 1 and 11 told us that CY is trying t o heal and move on from what happened back then. He won't tell us (and MJ) immediately. We'll find out probably from PTSD- like flashbacks, his friends' warnings and concerns, and when he's vulnerable around MJ/ romance reignites. I think.
What is this one episode thing going on recently many dramas are doing this More 1 episode and less 2episodes
It's not recent, though. I've been watching C dramas for almost two decades and some are usually like this. We might get 4 days of 2 episodes, 2 days of 1 and then an off day. Or, the one that drives me nuts- a whole week and a half of two episodes, then one episode for a week only to have a drop of like 6-8 episodes.
The editing in today's episode was really bad. One minute she was checking her score, the next there's a fire…
Huh? Based on the episode, we only know what she knows. Flashbacks and confessions should come as we go along so that we know Chen Yi's perspective to fill in the gaps. We're to be as confused as she was, aren't we?
Right now he is thinking that she's a kid and can't take care of herself by her own....but I think there are some…
I'm also caught up on that one time he reminded her old she was and that she needed to have a sense of self-preservation/ protection when she suggested he move back to his room. Also, his awkwardness about possibly giving her a sponge bath. Every now and then it's as if he's saying "Yo, we're not related."
I went to the manga. It was scene for scene from the manga. This show has almost all my favourite tropes. I recommend…
Oh, I think I mentioned it somewhere below... Official translation is done by Manga Plaza. It can be read for a month under Premium. What I did was sign up for premium and make use of the 7-day free period to read all of it and then cancel.
as a huge utsukare fan and seto toshiki enjoyer...... so far i dont like it at all... toshiki looks hot as hell…
… but… it seems so different to me. First, the main character isn’t the obsessed one here, it’s the romantic lead. Here, the romantic lead has (obviously? Seemingly?) spoiled the main character with a goal in mind. It’s like those Chinese novel male leads who purposely spoil the main character so they’re totally dependent on him and not ever think about leaving. He doesn’t suffer from a loser complex nor from low self-esteem, doesn’t consider himself unworthy. There’s a plan he’s executing to make the main character his. The main character in UtsuKare wasn’t like this.
Closest would be like Punk’s Triangle, School Trip or At 25:00 in Asakasa… 🤔 and around the first part of the first Ossan’s Love? No?

I was so happy she wasn't wearing the new shoes
She was so adorable, though.
I get it, though...
For legal reasons, I'd like to highlight that I only pointed out what I did and in no way suggested others do the same

Except for the 6th one, I think I just saw the others as markers of Japanese high school dramas. That 6th one, though…
I see why you think so, now.
I think I see your points more as clichés, so I focus on the high intelligence male lead with a control kink/ issue trope. It took me forever to actually get through UtsuKare because the MC was so weird, but I was fully onboard with this one from the premise alone.
Strange. Could possibly be the main character to male lead switch.
