I have the same problem! No access to Weibo/Douban for the past two days. I already checked, the sites are active. Strangely, I can access Weibo on the old Android phone… If you find a solution please let me know…
I've been going on douyin to see cnetz comments on this drama and have to say that cnetz are funny as hell sometimes.…
It’s sounds a bit like real life, initially you may be interested in one guy, but eventually you get together with another. One of the reasons why I find the childhood sweetheart trope so idiotic.
They are still filming at the moment. The filming was scheduled for 130 days and if I remember correctly it started mid-July. So it would end sometime around the end of November. Then it has to go into post-production which should take at least half a year if not longer. It depends on how much they want to “enhance” the fight scenes with special effects. After that the drama has to pass censorship which based on the content of the original novel may be a challenge as well. So my estimate is that if all goes well we will get this in the last quarter of next year at the earliest. Maybe for Xmas…
Well, just like there are some fake ratings for the individual episodes (some clowns already rated all episodes,…
That’s generally a good approach to see if you like the actors and production. However, there are unfortunately a lot of dramas that go downhill in the second half or that have stupid/open endings, so starting them really is a waste of time.

I know! It’s so annoying. I have a simple rule (in addition to reading the comments): if the drama is rated 8+ and has idolboys in the main cast, it’s probably overrated; if it is rated less than 8 and has a grown-up cast, it’s probably underrated.
it may be hard to raise the ratings cause the dropped rating average is so low :(
Well, just like there are some fake ratings for the individual episodes (some clowns already rated all episodes, even before seeing them), there may be some “dropped” votes from people who never watched any episodes. The rating system here on MDL turns more and more into to a joke. Instead of being an appraisal of acting, plot and production quality, it has become a tool for fans to express their support and for antis to trash something.
Hej Deirdre :) …now I'm just wondering if I read the novel now whether the face of Alan will appear in my head…
Why would that make you sad? We can still enjoy the drama together because I’m not some little fan-girl who can only watch a drama if she finds the lead attractive. I trust that Allen will give a good performance and to me that is much more important than him looking pretty. I need a good story and production and half-way decent acting and I’m happy. Also, there is Jeremy, so my eyes will be happy, too.
Maybe when his fans grow up and stop attacking/insulting any of his female co-stars as being too old, to ugly…
Basically every actress who is paired with him, but the latest “victim” was Bai Lu who they called “too old and wrinkly” to play with their darling. I find this behaviour really unacceptable.
This drama is really good. And I hate to see people reviewing for petty reasons. For God's sake it just came out…
I think it’s ok to give a critical appraisal of the first few episodes. What I don’t understand is why people feel the need to give an overall rating for something that has barely started. Also have to agree with you on the “too fast paced/too slow” point. Someone will always complain, usually it’s the people with their finger parked on the FF-button who then complain stuff doesn’t make sense.

In the novel he is described as breathtakingly beautiful, so in my head it’s definitely not AR 😂😂😂 He’s a bit more of a slender, fragile beauty (so no fit for Jeremy). For me Luo Yunxi or Neo Hou would would be a good match, but everyone’s head is different. Jeremy is definitely a very good fit for Pei Yan, calculating and manipulative, leader of an army but silently eating his heart out for the FL suits him.
Oh this must be frustrating for Merxat to be second lead behind a child-actor with barely any acting experience. I really wish drama producers would start valuing acting skills over the idol-boy popularity factor so that we could all enjoy dramas with decent acting.
Watched 13 episodes so far and here are some thoughts…
The plot is quite interesting and at times surprisingly different. I really like the FL, she is quirky and cheeky in the early episodes, but without being annoying. The plot suddenly turned very dark, that was a bit unexpected after the initial, rather light-hearted episodes. I find the ML rather bland. He only seems to have a single facial expression and 5he dreamy-eyed trope gets very boring after a while. The “amnesia arc” has him overacting terribly and the babbling dim-wit he portrays is getting on my nerves. I hope he will come out of it soon. Now that many of the characters that I really liked have gone ( the FL’s dad was pure acting gold!) I need someth8ng more to keep me interested.
