China must truly be an blissful paradise where the government has no other problems than policing the entertainment…
Even though this may be prevalent in some communist countries, it is a global problem that governments are trying to get ever more control over their population. Over here they just disguise it a bit better and pretend they need all our data to "fight terrorism" or something equally abstract. With the latest push for digitalisation of health and ID we're sadly not far behind China when it comes to state control. They just haven't tightened the thumb screws yet...
Well shit. Nooo. I had to go down the rabbit hole to figure out why it is a sin that Chinese citizens can't go…
Government officials? Interesting, I wouldn't know... But even if they are, that won't help him in case his co-star gets "cancelled" and the whole production gets canned. It evidently also doesn't seem to help him getting any better roles 😂 I just hope this storm blows over quickly without too much damage or yet more unfathomable rules about what actors aren't allowed to have for breakfast. I guess I will have to watch Legend of the Phoenix again...
Someone please explain this to me like I'm 5.So a guy made a joke the goverment didn't like. So...they paralized…
It's not about the rules, it's about the control. This is a common pattern in a certain type of government to have many rules that nobody really understands and that keep changing all the time. It will keep people's minds busy and put them in a permanent state of uncertainty. We had a similar thing in Europe with all the COVID rules, one day it was masks don't change anything, then must have masks, then special masks, then masks while sitting on a park bench, etc. None of it made much sense but it is a way to control people and make them snitch on others.
I had some hopes that his would be released later this year or early this year, but now, it seems that due to yet another C-ent crackdown, artists who went to Kpop concerts (like the FL for this one did...) may get investigated. Still just a rumour, but we all know what usually happens next... JT really has terrible luck when it comes to his female co-stars, either they can't act or they cause some other trouble (or both). 😭😭😭😭
Whoever are pursuing actors bec of what they say, or do out of the media spotlight are way off the point of putting…
The end result won't be a high moral society, but a highly hypocritical society. We have to return to some common sense and to a certain degree separate the artists' personality from their work and most importantly, keep our noses out of their private life! Is anyone really so naive to think that all those highly-regarded classic authors, composers or philosophers were all nice people who never did any wrong (yes, I'm looking at you, Confucius!). We simply know a lot less about their private lives.
Y'all stop accusing this drama as replacement or stealing schedule, it's expected to be broadcast this may as…
The only ones who should be blamed for SKOP not airing are the people responsible for the ridiculous collective punishment rules of the Chinese entertainment industry. One actor sneezes in the wrong direction and the whole production gets canned - what kind of deranged logic is that? I had BOR on my watch-list for a long time (side-by-side with SKOP) and if it's good I will enjoy watching it without any regrets.
LOL! I don+t know why I'm such a sucker for this kind of stories, but I'm... so, I'm gonna give it a try. I like…
Yes, I like shorts, too. They also seem to get away with a lot more "daring" things than the full-length dramas. Hence my frustration about yet another short with this transmigration BS. It's a completely nonsensical trope that is currently overused and almost never done in a coherent way.
According to my iQiyi dictionary, "technical difficulties" is the same as "cancelled". Their last drama with "technical…
It's about time China stepped away from collective punishment. Cancelling a production that dozens of people invested time and money in just because of one person is exactly that. In costume dramas they kill the entire clan if one of them steps out of line, and here the clan has been replaced by the production team. So decades after the revolution, feudalism is still alive and well. If the actor has broken any rules, he alone should bear the consequences.
The rating dropped suddenly to junk level? That is really uncalled for... I've seen dramas with plotholes the size of a small country score an 8+ rating for no other reason than a few pretty boys.

Over here we have energy crisis, housing crisis, health crisis, inflation and environmental pollution to keep our governments busy...
