Their relationship goes continuously downhill until it hits rock bottom towards the end of ep. 16.
LF distrusts LFP more and more and LFP has given up on expecting any clues from LF. This is why he turns to the mystery man. I think he has always known that this is a manipulator, but the urge to know what happened in his mother's case is stronger than any other considerations.

Oh, oh, episode 23 had me on the edge of my chair... That was one tense showdown!!
Kudos to James Wang! He really nailed this role!

They become real friends after that. They express some of their feelings/frustrations in episode 18 and from then on they really trust each other. And LFP stops eating lollies.

This was quite entertaining...
I love how the FL can look after herself and only puts on the "damsel in distress" routine whenever she wants something. The dialogues were very funny.
Only 15 episodes of approx. 10 min were easy to watch in a single session.

Does anyone know where I can find the novel in English translation
I'm working on it... you can find the link and some important information regarding the three novels in this series under "recent discussions".

Can you tell me where you watched the subbed episodes? Not viki but anywhere else??
I watched on kisskh. The subs are, however, a lot more "adventurous" than those on Viki as it's the machine translation from Mango. They take some getting used to as all the names come up as literal translation half of the time.

On My Journey to You May 15, 2023
The teaser-trailer looks impressive - hopefully for once the drama will keep the same tone of darkness and suspense.
Too many times have we been promised dark suspensful drama only too end up with a fecking comedy or romantic same-old.

Title Desire Catcher Spoiler
Episodes 21 and 22 are finally subbed...
Ep. 21 was ok. As usual many elements of the novel have been rehashed and put in a completely different context. The flashback into Bai Yaxing's past felt a bit lengthy and I cannot see yet how all that happened there would be relevant for the rest of the story, but maybe the next episodes will tell.
In any case, the actor playing Bai Yaxing is doing a great job in being an arrogant prick, he really brings some depth to the character.
The drama version of Bai Yaxing feels a bit white-washed. They have given him such a tragic background with the lymphoma and the murdered in-laws that one could almost feel sorry for him. In the novel he was a police captain who got sacked for mis-conduct (he brought a woman back from an under-cover mission and then his girlfriend committed suicide - no hypnotist involved). He then went astray and committed murder to make his fortune.

For this genre, I'd recommend Under The Skin which utilizes its art theme crime well. I thought this drama would…
It's not meant to be a BL... Some greedy marketing people may have tried to promote it as such to attract viewers, but the source material is definitely not BL.

i dropped it sooooooooo boring don't waste your time
Totally understand you... I put it on hold by ep. 9 and it has been sitting there ever since. The novel was definitely much more interesting because it didn't try to be fun ny.

keep watching, the plot just getting better, don't mind small details
I don't mind the small details that they changed, some things that work in a novel, just don't work in drama, so it's normal that not everything will be the same. I do, however, have a problem with scriptwriters who seem to think that they need to "improve" on the novel by adding love triangles where there were none in the novel, or strange additional characters that nobody needs. Most of the time these additional elements stick out like a sore thumb and BFTB is no exception.

Right now the "stupid inventions" and "misplaced humour" is ACTUALLY keeping most viewers except you engage though…
I love humour, in stories that are naturally funny or have a slightly sarcastic undertone (like for example Royal Rumours). In this story, however, it feels out of place. Whenever the sciptwriters take liberties and try to change the overall tone of a novel (as they did for example in Unchained Love) it never ends well.
I quite like this drama and don't need any "incentives" of this style to keep watching.

the agency has some purposes later
The was no agency in the novel, so any purpose will be yet another made up gimmick....

On Back from the Brink May 13, 2023
On ep. 4 now and funnily enough, the elements I dislike the most are the bits invented by the scriptwriters. These stupid agency sequences (two already in just four episodes!) feel completely out of place and those "cute" monsters that look like something out of a children's animation are so ridiculous! Whenever I get into the story and just start enjoying it one of these stupid features comes up to knock me right out of the flow.
Did the scriptwriters feel that insecure about their work that they felt the need to use these misplaced attempts at humour to keep viewers engaged?
This beautiful novel certainly didn't need any of these stupid inventions.

MLs hair in the pictures is awful and girly. Not watching
Hahaha, that's how I got "tricked" into watching this 😂 I think it's a very clever marketing strategy...
Just wanted to watch one episode to check out this dorky hairstyle and then kind of got "hpynotised" into watching all the episodes.
And guess what, I'm absolutely loving it!

The FL always calling him Crown Prince is true to the novel. It irritated the hell out of me as well when reading it. I mean, he calls her Liuli all the time and she answers back with Crown Prince.
