Yes, that’s what I hope, too, especially since I am convinced that most of this “drama” is due to manipulation by third parties. As roles and resources in C-ent are getting scarcer, there seem to be quite a few who resort to black marketing to eliminate the competition. There are currently just too many such campaigns going on to be a coincidence.

Absolutely! This is a great drama in the making so naturally it attracts all sorts of envy as can be seen in the recent controversies that feel more and more like something which is orchestrated from the outside to get the various fandoms into fights. I can only appeal to everyone, don’t trust every clip that you see ( some of them have been maliciously edited to make people look bad) and don’t jump on every bandwagon that criticises one of the cast. For all we know, the cast and crew is getting along well with a great atmosphere on set so we should trust that our favourites have made the right decisions in the role that they have taken on and that they are able to sort out minor grievances without the fandoms blowing things out of proportion.

I feel with you 😢 but I wouldn’t completely trust anything you read about this on X (or any other platforms). Directors often shoot a variety of scenes that won’t make it into the final cut because they will only decide on the ending after editing. Sometimes,bwha5 they had planned no longer feels right by the time the drama is finished. Also, there are a lot of jokers out there who like to play with people’s emotions.

Yeah, when I see those thin arms it kills all the immersion and no nonsense narrative about “inner force” can make up for it. I have done martial arts, even doing it just a few days a week, you build up some muscle. And we are asked to believe these weaklings have spent years in daily martial arts training? Pull the other one! The pressure on these actresses to lose weight is incredible, no wonder so many of them end up in the ER due to malnutrition. I am quite sure none of the agitators behind the screens are depriving themselves of any meals.

They are all too thin! Unfortunately the weight loss craze is still in full swing in China. Perfectly normal looking actresses are being called “fat” and the weight requirements in casting sheets are an absolute nightmare!

I can always tell when there are school holidays in China because some of the fandoms are going crazy. All that pent up teenage frustration is released online to fight over the most trivial things. Of course most of these kids don’t even realise that they are being used either by marketing (including black marketing from unrelated fandoms) or by troublemakers disguised as fans. Stirring up trouble might create a bit of buzz but in the long run it will hurt the drama and all involved.

While I agree with your point of view on Ai, I don’t see these statements as a “strong stance” against the use of Ai. What they have condemned is merely the illegal (unauthorised) use of their likeness . It remains to be seen what their position will be when platforms or production companies are seeking their permission to use their image in new productions. Iqiyi is currently trying to turn its affiliated actors into Ai muppets and other platforms probably aren’t far behind. Only a handful of actors will even have a choice in this because denying permission will mean that they’re out of a job. The only way to stop this and to protect the actors is for the audience to resolutely boycott all dramas involving Ai muppets, even if the leads are still real people and their favourites.
