Yes, something like that. Maybe cruel and ruthless in the beginning (he is the villain after all) and then he slowly falls for her against his better judgment. It would give the character some more development and make for great acting, which I know he can give us. He looked very happy and excited today, so I guess the role must be good.

I’m up to chapter 130 in the novel by now and the only moment there really was anything between them that would be worth seeing in the drama was their last scene together where we learn a bit about Wanyan Yun’s motivation for torturing her earlier. All their interactions before that were just him torturing and humiliating her which had very little information value other than to say that he is a vicious guy. It won’t be a loss if they tone it down a notch. I also think that they will give them some sort of love line, probably a very one-sided one.

We all would! However, I’d rather see him in quality roles even if they are small rather than as main lead in another silly idol drama opposite some hapless trainee actress. We’ve been there and it was a torture watching it (probably not too pleasant for him either).

I hope he acquires more main roles. He is a talented actor, even in scripts that were probably cut short or altered…

This drama is very realistic and close to historical elements in term of designs so you won’t see any flashy…
I am glad that they didn’t. There’s too many feeble pretty boys pretending to be generals already. Personally, I found the historical background in the novel very interesting (as I don’t know anything about that era of Chinese history) and I think that they will enhance this aspect because it fits into the current political climate.
