As far as I understood, it is still the same Wanyan Jun character from the novel, but they presumably changed quite a bit of that character in the script (to make him more palatable) and therefore they also gave him a new name,

According to usually well-informed fans, Xu Zhengxi’s character name has been changed to 夏侯骏 (Xia Hou Jun).

120 days is the standard duration for a costume drama. Especially action scenes and wire work are very time-consuming.
I know Dacheng is a pro, but the stuntmen might not be able to keep up 😂

I am sure that he will join this drama, but it may not be as 2ML. Theoretically, he could film a lot of his scenes in January, take a 30-day break for the film and then shoot the rest of his scenes afterwards. I estimate that they will probably film this project for four months so this would still amount to a 75% presence on set.
It really depends on how the roles are written and how his role fits into the schedule.
