Casting should be about who fits the role best. It’s not a beauty contest.
How important a role is should depend on the story, not the ego of the actor (or that of his fans).

It was a joke, because LoA had many, many unnecessary bathing scenes that contributed nothing to the plot.
I agree with you, the plot was a mess, which is really sad considering that they had good source material and a budget.

Yes, for any drama, I usually prefer to watch in the original. Even if it’s in a language that I don’t understand, the voices and intonation are important elements not to miss.
What irks me most in this dubbed version is the weird mixture of strong American accents with the Empress having a British accent (like she is going to be the villain in the drama… 😂).

Argh, they dubbed it with some horrible American accents! I’d rather read subtitles than endure this for 32 episodes.

Same here. I wouldn’t mind so much that he has no noticeable charisma and looks bland, but I find his acting quite weird. I know some scenes are supposed to be funny, but instead of showing us the comedy, he looks like he doesn’t know how to act. His comedic timing is completely off..

He looks so bland I that I cannot remember his face. He’s been in several dramas that I watched before, but I had to look at his list of works to know it.
