I heard about this ep many times and I kind of predicted what going to happen since I saw a spoiler from an mv. Now I'm scared because I know there will be heartache coming for lini :(

No it isn't terrible, i like it. If you like the main leads their characters are smart and capable who support each other through out the drama. Ml is talented and a prodigy and keeps powering up causing many of those who were less talented to be jealous and cause trouble for him.

Did you finish the drama, what do you think of it. I agree drama wasn't perfect and there was a character that should be discovered much earlier, but it took much longer for her to be discovered just to drag out the story line. Otherwise it was a solid drama with many good fight scenes and the main leads have good chemistry.

This is an original story from the author of goodbye my princess, and in that one it was the ml that's a controversial character and got lots of hate for his treatment of fl. This storyline is her way of writing a happy ending since I heard most of what she's written has always ended in tragedy. I think the fact she written ml being understanding and patience is what save their relationship because fl has the personality of a male prideful and stubborn, while ml is written with lots of characteristics of a female. I think everyone of us has a bit of male and female personalities, and I find it interesting there's a role reversal in the ml and fl characters. I always like characters with shade of grey who are not wholly evil, but operated on a different moral compass because they have different priorities, that's why the fl fascinated me with how her character is written, and the ml is the kind of guy every girl wants for herself. But I can understand why you can be turned off by fl since her character is considered selfish since she only thinking of gains and not a kind of good girl image of a typical fl.

Wonderland looks like a fairy tale so I wonder if it was done on purpose by the production team to show wonderland in that way and not only because of covid that they couldn't shoot real scenery for wonderland.

That's why I like it too because it's not a typical romcom and xukai character is really cute and funny ^^

Lini crafty brother brought it up after lcf told him lini and cuilin have feeling for each other, and lini wants the crown prince title that's why he was afraid lini will get the upper hand by marrying cuilin so he brought it up with his father agreeing to marry cuilin to help him but in reality he is thinking for himself foremost because he wants the crown prince title.

That's a good question since he is getting on my nerves with his obsession of marrying cuilin and forcing her to marry him against her will.

I objected to your choice of words since I find fl is very well defined. She is written as someone who can be ruthless and rational as we see her drugged lini when they were surrounded, while at the same time she has high morals because she was thinking of survival in order to save more people as she said to lini about her mother last word to her about living on. I think she has a good heart, but she can also make choices that can be heartless for the greater good. I like her character because she has shade of grey and not written as just someone who's truly good. Her character is someone who will thinks of only getting advantages in any deals just like how her father taught her. So she is not afraid to use any trick to win even if it's the man she likes she will not hesitate to go all out. You're complaining about her character using underhanded tactics, and saying she can't have high morals at the same time i don't agree, everyone is different and don't fit in a mold. Lini met cuilin and was a victim of her underhanded tactics many times, and he fell in love with her in spite of it. It seems cuilin is a controversial character that many has strong feelings against, you're not the only one. In regards to her anger over her brother death, it's true no matter how bad your family is, once they died you will still have good feelings for them even if they're not a good person. Cuilin reacts strongly to lini because of her feeling for him, since it's not just her brother but her own safety that he ignores to get revenge, her reaction is the same as lini when he blew into a rage when he found out his men were betrayed by cuilin's brother, he was angry and accused her of planning the whole thing even though in private he knew it wasn't true.

Either you accept the fl reaction as dealing with grief as well as guilt over the death of her brother, and her anger has a lot to do with her feeling for ml, because she consider him as someone important in her life that's why she reacted stronger than normal like how she explained to her servant friend or you will not able to watch it further. Some people seems to have a strong opinion against the fl, so they decided to drop this drama for that reason. I find the fl is a very interesting character and fl and ml differing viewpoints and conflicts are the highlight of this drama, but it might not be to everyone's taste.

Because you're thinking is flaw, why can't she be ruthless and also be a moral character; she used underhanded tactics from the first time she met ml, so what made you said she's not the same character as she was before. What I understand is you're putting your own value into this character who has totally different experiences than you do, who loss her mother at a young age and was raised by her father, so she didn't have a female figure in her life. Who has to dress up as a male to hide her identity from the outside world, who only experienced battles and deaths. Also why can't she be rational and also emotional when losing someone she cares about. Does being raised as a man means she has no emotions, that she can't grieve for a brother who grows up with her. Or get angry when the man she loves choose to stand on the side while she was in danger. I just put myself in her shoes and can understand why she reacted so strongly since to her lini is her first love, and she doesn't know how to handle her feelings to him.

Being a realist does not mean she's without flaws. I agree she's also idealistic, but unlike lini who just think things will automatically work themselves out, she realizes to get the desire outcomes he would've to take things into his own hands rather than leave it to those who are not capable or who desire power for themselves. Lini having been in the court doesn't want anything to do with it because he consider it a cage, while cuilin having never live in the court and only been in battle wouldn't know about it, and only think about helping him get the crown prince title because she also afraid his life will be put in danger because he's a threat to those who desire power for themselves. She would think losing her free will is a small price to pay for the good of the country, and achieve peace without understanding how much restrictions it will place on her since she never experienced it herself. That why I can see both of their pov and understand where they're coming from. For such a relationship to work, it means both of them can take on each other views without trying to destroy each other, just like two people having different political views but can still live peacefully under the same house. Not sure why you think they can't have a relationship, because I've seen such a relationship before in another drama, both leads have such differing viewpoints, but eventually they both join forces and work together to get their desire outcomes.

She's not manipulative or spoiled, she's being realistic and I find the ml too idealistic because she was right when she predicted how his brothers will react when it comes to wanting power, power can turn people mad and turn on each other even family.

Fl is not spoiled, she's just realistic and understanding human emotions quite well. Both ml and fl have their own thinking and expectations. And I find the leads have a balance relationship because they both are strong individuals who will not give in for their own principles. It's interesting to see fl being the one to be rational, while ml being more idealistic. I understand why ml doesn't want anything to do with fighting for the throne since he called it being trap in a cage, while fl was saying he was already trapped so the only way out for him would be to take the lead. I can see both sides and understand their thought processes and why they made those choices.

Douban also has lots of haters. Fiys got lots of hate from esport fans who hated the drama before it came out and even attacked the main actor and actress, so no wonder when it came out it was rated low. At the time xukai also has ancient love poetry, and that drama didn't get a high rating as I thought it deserves either because of all the haters who hated on the fl for her looks and fat shamed him. That why I don't consider douban as a site that I would trust to give a fair rating of dramas. For xukai he is an actor and not an idol so his fans would rate his dramas without bias, but he also has lots of haters as a result his dramas don't have high rating compared to other idols who have fans who would rate their dramas high to balance out the haters.

What I meant is you applying your modern thinking onto the fl who's a commander in an army, but you want her to act like a young girl in love to satisfy what you consider as a good quality in an fl. I on the other hand don't judge her character because I know she's the product of her upbringing living in a man word so she has to be even better than a man to get respect. Yeah let agree to disagree, just like in this day and age people have different types they like, in this drama ml likes the fl because she's a warrior who can be as good as any man in battle as well as tactics, and who he consider as someone he can compete with. The script is off for you maybe because you can't accept such an fl that breaks the standard mole of what an fl should be like, or the ml who breaks the standard mole of ml because he's not ambitious and instead is understanding and kind characteristics that are usually written for female characters.

I remember you liking the wolf and ml was manipulative towards fl I think. Although i don't normally like manipulative characters, ml isn't the pushover type like what you're saying about him, so they make a strong couple who can duke it out as hard as they can because they're evenly match. Like how ml yell at fl for being drugged by her when that old couple died. In that scene we can see ml being emotional while fl was being rational even though she also wants to rescue the old couple she also realizes they were outmatched. This is the characters dynamic I like about this couple very similar to another couple I watched a long time ago in another drama, the fact I can remember that couple after such a long time just show their deep impression on me till today.
