What ep are you on. It's an instant attraction, but they don't get together until a while. You should keep watching to follow their love story because I think it's really heartbreaking.

Are you right in the head, that was a long time ago and has nothing to do with me. I was commenting to you on the drama, why do you bring history into it. I don't know their history, or pretend anything. I was just saying what I think those people in the drama at that time were thinking. If I'm wrong then fine, and don't bring politic into any discussion about this drama because this is a page to discuss about drama, not about politic.

The first two eps are full of action, that was what attracts me in the first place. Guess i'm the odd one out, and just love seeing xukai finally in a wuxia type of drama ^^

The dragon bone is an important item for them for different reasons. For ml it's a way for him to find his father, for fl it's an engagement item, also it was her fault for losing it, so she want to give it back to ml. For others they might be interest in it so they can get the treasures or for revenge. Lots of people are interested in it, even that rich brat seems to be interested in it. And the sister of that police chief is now also want in on the action.

Court lady is a good court drama with some of the yanxi palace casts, and xukai and li yi tong are the leads ^^

You're saying they're living under a dictatorship, but that's westerners thinking. These people are very loyal to their own government, and this is a time of change where lots of westerns influence are taking place that's why we're seeing places that sell coffee, foreigners walking the street. But there are people who are loyal to their custom and refuses to wear anything foreigners made, this is their choice and has nothing to do with the government. Compare to other Chinese women, she's even more shelter because she didn't have an education, she is an orphan who was taken in by her master and was train as a martial artist, so she only knew about her sect business and nothing else.

You talking about manting, I think the reason she's so determined in her feeling for him is she thinks he's gay and want to set him straight. It could explains many instances where she trying to introduce girls to fl because she thinks ml and fl are gay for each other. I didn't find her annoying, and just pity her because she and ml are very similar in their personality when it comes to love. They give their love wholeheartedly, with no maliciousness compare to other sfl in cdramas.

I'm sad to hear that because the censorship are ruining so many good dramas, or making them impossible to be air. The time the actors/actresses spend on filming these dramas as well as those behind the scenes staffs who put so much hard work in making good dramas for viewers to enjoy, and they might never air because the Chinese censorship is becoming stricter and we won't know what they're censoring next. All originality and creativity are going to be ruin by these censorship.

In ep 5, and I'm thinking if a guy willing to eat the food you cook knowing he's allergic to it, then he must have feeling for you. He also wears the charm she gave him and refuses to give it back to her, he definitely has feeling for her ^^ His refusal about the engagement thing has nothing to do with her, and everything to do with not wanting to follow the pentasect stupid rule.

Don't blame it all on her, all she knows is her sect and she think her master word is always right. He was the one who told her she's engage to ml. She's very stubborn, but I think it's because she likes him and don't mind being engage to him. Girls in those days are very innocent, once they settle on a guy, they stay true to him and never looks at another guy.

Was watching ep 5, and there's a conversation fl has with ml leads me to think she's very shelter. She doesn't know what a violin or a phone is, that just means she is not very knowledgeable about those things that foreigners brought in, and from the way all the people in pentasect dress, lead me to think they're old-fashion, and don't like anything western influence. She only knows about her sect business like training in martial art, farming, etc.

Is that so? I haven't gotten to that ep yet. I think her reason for getting the dragon bone before has to do with what her teacher told her that according to pentasect rule by giving her the dragon bone he's engage to her. She seems to be okay with that arrangement, so I have always suspected her wanting to be engage to him has to do with her feeling for him, but she just doesn't realizes yet. I'm glad to hear she finally figure out her feeling in ep 12 ^^

They were childhood friends. I like their relationship, she can be who she is when she is around him without having to hide her real self. He also can say anything to her without her being offended. They're so comfortable with each other, her being childish is a way to get his attention since she seems very innocent, I don't think she realizes she has feeling for him yet.

That depends on whether it's in the script. Both court lady and ancient love poetry follow novels very well, that's why both of them are good, and I like most of the characters there. What I don't like about adaptation is when unnecessary romance is added in to make the drama longer like a love triangle that wasn't there in the novel for example the legend and dance of the sky empire. I feel the romance is dragged out, and the CP is nowhere to be seen, just dragging out the love triangle even though it's clearly showed the fl doesn't have any feeling for the sml.
