Frequenting a hostess bar is not a crime. It's a moral issue that should have been resolved and/or sanctioned within the confines of his marriage & family. It had f**k all to do with prosecutors, the fans, or society at large and it certainly wasn't worth driving LSK to his death.
Ten minutes into the first episode and the main characters annoy me already. They know their mother is avaricious, untrustworthy, & self-centered so why give their sister money in front of her? Why not secure it while they slept? I just can't with characters not using basic common sense in service of the plot.
THE GOOD - Seo In-guk - His stylist - Aunt Im is such a great villain
THE BAD -The humor is cartoonish & heavy-handed for a series dealing with multiple heinous murders, sex trafficking, drugs, political & corporate corruption, etc.
- Inept police trope.
THE UGLY - The FL's character is annoying plus the actor is too old for the role (based on the narrative of her being at least 15 years younger than the ML), and has no chemistry with the ML.
- The story WRT to the FL seemed to change midway through the show where she returned to Korea to solve her brother's murder. Unless I misunderstood, she was already a patrol officer at the time of his death.

The first scene with Dong-Ju's mother had me so confused for a good minute. I was thinking, "But they're the same age!" Jung Woo is good in the role so maybe they could have adapted the script to age him and the mother up.

I figure Yook Dong Ju is supposed to be 32 (five years-old at the time of the murder 27 years prior), but he looks the same age as Lee Ha-Neul and the murderers. The actor is good, but can't overcome looking like a 42 year-old no matter how nice his skin is. LOL
Of all the things that bug me just in episodes 1-2, the things that stick in my craw the most are Chan-Mi keeping the agent's wedding ring (as opposed to returning it to his widow) and her over the top reaction at the agent's death. She had me wondering if they were lovers or something. It was all so inappropriate.
I almost didn't watch season 2 because I really disliked season 1, but in the end, I couldn't resist Lee Sung Min. He's easily one of my favorite actors.
So far, season 2 seems more cohesive and I find it more enjoyable. However, it looks like I'll have to rewatch season 1, maybe take notes to keep track of all the characters and plots.
I much prefer this kind of show to the less mature Korean rom-coms favored on this site. It was beautifully written and acted.
