Not bad, but just not interesting. The steamy scenes are so out of left field that they're jarring. I don't think I'll finish this one. Enjoy, everyone.
A good first episode. I'm not a big fan of supernatural BL, but I'm interested to see where this goes. Both of the leads did a good job. I like them better in these roles than LITA. They're more relaxed and natural. Doesn't feel like a Mame story... yet. I'm intrigued.
Ep 8 was a masterpiece, but my favorite moment was when the fireworks started. Normally in any BL this would be a moment of joy and happiness as our two leads held hands and watched the fireworks as a metaphor for their burgeoning love. Here, it was a counterpoint to their loss. Beautiful.

I agree the director has done a fabulous job, but none of it would matter if the two boys were not exceptional. During those pauses, the emotions that come from their eyes and faces are palpable.

When you can't come up with an interesting storyline, just have your character repeat the same info ad nauseum and it appears like you've written a full episode.

Thanks for the reminder. I often get frustrated, expecting the same quality of story and execution as the best shows on tv. I do think BL can do better, though. But you're right I need to reset my expectations.
North gets punched twice (in the stomach) and then FAINTS? And doesn't wake up until the next day? And Johan gives him a sponge bath? Because? You need a bath after you fainted? Then leaves medicine for him? What medication cures a punch in the stomach? I know this is fantasy, but honestly you can tell the same story without ridiculous leaps of logic and actual human behavior. Try to find ways to make your BL tropes feel like they actually might happen, writers. Ridiculous.
I did not watch the first movie, only because it skipped my radar. I'm glad I waited til the second, because I got to see the realizations and confessions, rather than the build-up. It's not ground-breaking, nor does it truly bring anything fresh to the table, but it's well done and enjoyable.
Very much a slice-of-domestic-life/food p*rn piece (I still don't understand the food appeal, but I know it's a genre, so...). For that genre it was on point. Lots of domestic bliss. A nice progression of internal conflict. Both of their slow realizations were expected. Haru's sudden epiphany was a bit ridiculous, I will say. "Oh, this is love? Oh that makes sense now." As if he had never pieced any of it together before.
I was fine with the hand-holding only. Again, expected for this genre - and remember they are very innocent, naive, 20 year olds, in love for the first time. Hand holding is actually a big deal. I have not read the manga, so I don't know if/how their relationship progresses, but this seemed like a natural first step.
Overall, strong performances. A great group of friends. If there's another installment, I would like to see the hurdles they overcome together.
I had to watch Ep 4 3 more times while I was waiting for Ep 5. Not sure I can handle rewatching Ep 5 that many times, maybe if I just watch the second half of the episode and skip over most of the abuse it will be ok.
Dang, Haruki is so bold. I'm surprised all the non-con folks aren't up in arms. But Minase is so dang understanding. Gotta love these two.
Watching Phuwin grow and mature since "CYMB" and seeing his face and body evolve into a more mature and masculine physique is quite something. He gets more handsome every year.
Not a very satisfying ending. Why bother seperating them? Just to reunite without any consequences or conflicts? Then you have to TELL us how they spent the next 6 years. Which apparently had no conflicts. Then they just coincidentally meet on a street and reunite with NO PROBLEMS?
Some really choppy editing in the last 2 eps (actually the entire series). At times it felt like this was directed by someone who thought it was a commercial for Hall mark Christmas Cards.
I felt no chemistry with the second couple. Tan's acting was not very strong. Adorable, but vacant.
Non-consensual kissing aside.... the boy put his hand inside Fadel's towel... but I guess that was okay? Nobody mentions that. Or the killing. That doesn't bother anybody. But stop kissing him!
Honestly, if that scene upsets you, I get it and you are entitled to your feelings. I respect you.
