i'm only on Ep 5, but they really make Fah out to be an ass. Instead of trying to do nice things for his love interest, he just steals his rival's lunch? Jerk. But Mesa just gets cuter every episode. Can't believe that guy is 30. Old enough for me to date!
Exactly the same as the first version yet so much better. Yin has improved dramatically. I almost couldn't watch him in the first version, or more correctly, I couldn't take my eyes off War. Now, I can't take my eyes off Yin. Their chemistry is some of the best I've seen. Naturally. They've spent over 2 years contemplating these characters and their relationship. Plot is cliche and far too familiar, but these two and all the boy candy surrounding them make it worth the watch.
Unlike many of you, I'm struggling. If it wasn't so short I would probably drop it, but the 3 eps are over before I know it. I am not believing either actor, I find the editing slow, staying too long on reactions so they become uncomfortable and Boss continues to creep me out. Smell your shirt? Ew. I'm waiting for some big reveal/secret like he's actually a 40 year old man or something. The remaining 8 eps are only about 25-30 minutes, so I'll finish the series, but it's not strong and not a fav.

I thought the almost kiss was perfect. Japan is still a fairly homophobic country, so two grown men, just at the start of their real relationship, still uncertain and nervous, one whom is just realizing he might like men, out in public, would probably behave just as they did. It all felt perfectly in character and tone with the whole series. Plus, we got 2 beautiful kisses and a finger in Ep 4, so I have nothing to complain about.

I'm 10 years older than my BF. There are lots of challenges and we see things differently based on our experiences, but so do every other couple who are exactly the same age. I agree with you, the younger you are, the more the age difference matters. The bigger challenge for us is our cultural differences. Raised half a wold apart makes our world views far different than the age gap.
That was delightful, start to finish. Love seeing a mature couple, a work place romance, meaningful dialogue, real character growth. Acting was so strong. I know nothing of Takeda Kouhai but hopefully he is a big star. He was very strong, subtle, nuanced and unaffected. I do wish we could get rid of the "running back to meet your disappearing lover" trope, but hey that's a minor quibble. I'll watch again and again, especially Ep4 for the finger-biting alone. Great mini-series.
This was a rough season. All the pain and heartache, loneliness and depression. It made for decent drama, but also made it a misery to watch. You knew you were in for more suffering every week, right up to Ep 9.
I agree with many, that the resolution lacked. I would have liked to see more growth from Ji Woo. His inability to articulate himself became increasingly frustrating. Even in the final scenes, when asked where the friendship bracelet is, he never answers the question. I'm not sure I could have taken him back for fear that the relationship would be exactly the same as the first time.
And while Ji Woo has a LOT of issues to work through, Seo Joon really needs to listen and learn to respect his partner. He never stops when Ji Woo tells him to. He needs constant approval to the point that he is overbearing and clingy.
While both actors are very strong, Woo Hyun far surpassed Kang Min this season, perhaps because Ji Woo did not really evolve that much, so he was forced to play the same emotions over and over. Am I crazy, or were his cheeks bloated and puffier than last season?
I found the editing quite distracting and hard to follow at times. All the flashbacks, scenes from the ancient past (did we need to see Ji Woo and his girlfriend holding hands in high school?). At times I had to watch scenes twice. Is this the past or the present, is this an old argument or new? And I think it made the season about 3 episodes longer than necessary.
My guess is S3 will be about Ho Min becoming an idol and falling in love - with his managers and agency trying to dissuade him or keep it a secret.
I love it because I loved S1 and both actors - and Jae Yong is fabulous (those clothes!). But I don't ever have to watch S2 again, and I would tell people to ONLY watch S1 if they asked.
Cute little mini series. A unique search for love, told in a fresh way. Glad I could binge in one go. A bit repetitive and therefore predictable. You knew he wasn't going to end up with anyone until #5. Got a little stalker feeling at one point, just targeting one guy after the other and sneaking around to spy on them. But it was all in good humor and therefore I took it as the fun they meant it to be. I loved the metaphors of each dessert for the appropriate moment. They were hopeful and inspiring messages for all. The fantasy sequences were more silly than sexy with their not so subtle innuendoes. Simple and quick enough to binge again one day.
Ep 4... out of the ballpark. Homerun! I wish Nozue could have had the courage to accept right away, but it's right in character for him to need time to process. But he DID kiss him back. A few times. So.... I didn't like all the edits at the end. Out the door, on the street, running. It was a bit too abrupt for a moment I wanted to sink in and feel the weight of, but that's just a minor quibble. This show is exceptional. Can't wait for the finale.
I don't think I would call this BL. It's a slice of life, coming of age, bromance. A student film or short film that just got cut into 4 parts (much of which was unnecessary flashback, IMO). And it's all delightful. Sweet, tender, honest, natural, real. It's filled with little moments that all add up to a wonderful whole. But it doesn't really address the relationship at all. I kinda think that's the point. These two acknowledge their feelings and then just go on, because that's what they would have done anyway, even without acknowledging their feelings. But it did make them feel emotionally stunted, like they were 8 and not 16. It made me long for a full length series, because with all the great side characters there could have been a lot of fun to be had. The great performances really made this stand out, and I will probably re-watch since it's so short and sweet and Sakura is just so adorable. But it's not the average fare, so don't go in expecting fall-into-a-kiss or squealing fangirls.
That was boring as hell when it should have been steamier than ever. The slow pacing and 80s soap opera soundtrack did not help. I kinda want to watch more just to see if it gets better, but then again... no. It's just too ridiculous to waste time on. DROPPED.
First 2 eps are strong. War is amazing. I remember when I saw the En of Love version I was blown away by his acting, and he's doing another great job here. Vin has improved dramatically since then. You can feel his comfort and confidence in his acting now. Yes, there are some moments that are "less than", but overall both are really handling it well. Show looks great overall. LOTS and LOTS of cute boys everywhere. Where to look? I'm not triggered by the cheating storyline. Every couple needs conflict and this is a very common way to do that. I do wish Vee had not moved in so quickly, maybe been disappointed by his girl BEFORE he started flirting, but that comes from wishing his character took some time to develop and understand his feelings a bit more before acting on them. I got the impression he had not been with a man before Mark, so a bit of confusion and resistance would have been more natural and welcomed. Looking forward to more.

I actually felt dirty watching that scene. His body is so under developed that he looked like a pre-pubescent boy (despite the abundance of under arm hair) and I didn't like seeing him half naked.
