Here are some good blood brother on brother gay incest flicks for you to check out:From Beginning to EndGodlessBrotherly…
It's weird, actually. I have two older brothers and I NEVER was physically attracted to either one. The thought of doing anything with either one always repelled me. But I know that's not the case for everyone, and I do find the subject interesting because between two brothers or two sisters there is no chance or pro-creation, so all the arguments against incest for that reason go out the window. And who am I to say two spirits/hearts meant to be together can't be born into the bodies of siblings?
I totally confess also to enjoying subject matter, depending on how it's handled, that makes "conservative" people lose their minds with extreme knee-jerk reactions. :)
Why? The sex was not explicit, as in there were no crotch shots of penises and vaginas interacting, and the violence was less than you see in a standard American murder/gore/torture film, which almost always get an R rating.
I think it was Ichiro's girlfriend, her eyes were turning psychotic when he left her
omg...that never even occurred to me...it would make sense if it were him. But it would also make sense for it to have been his fake girlfriend. That one is deeply fucked up. But yeah, Ichiro is far more deeply disturbed than I probably picked up on...did you seem him start to smile at the sight of the charred corpse of the psycho girlfriend? But would I chiro really raise and care for them just to turn around and kill them? Why? He didn't seem murderous in other respects, except of course liking people more dead than alive, lol. I thought he liked the kittens because they were not PEOPLE.
Wow. Very moved in a lot of different ways by this film. Not one to write much about until after a second viewing, I think. Sort of GOTHIC in the sense of all these different, very dark, mysterious, almost supernatural occurrences going on all at the same time. A lot of enigmatic moments as near the end when's Yamada's facial expression seemed to shape-shift from horror to amusement or happiness at the sight of the burning trash pile and what lay nearby. I mean really, wtf was THAT? lol
I love films like this that make me all tense and distraught and angsty and amused and horrified and annoyed with the actions of many of the characters, even ones I don't particularly care for. Why I enjoy feeling stressed and emotional is a question I will leave for me and my therapist to pursue, but I know I am far from alone in that feeling as an audience member. But seriously, I wish my high school years had been even HALF as interesting as this. I was, for the most part, bored.
Cant' believe I've been watching pretty much nothing but BL and gay films for more than a year and somehow missed this til now. Star of the show for me is the perfect naturalism of all of the acting, from the MC actors on through their circle of buddies and other students in class. I never saw a fake or "actor-ish" move from anyone. I felt I was invisible and just hanging around watching these kids go through their day. Remarkable, and a tribute to the hard work o the director. Natural acting is the hardest thing to accomplish.
I'm not a huge Fluke fan, but this is the best work I've seen him do. He seemed kind of sexy and group-dominant in an understated way and again, his interactions with the other half of the MC were entirely convincing. The moment when he turned and leaned his torso and head against his friend's shoulder on the rooftop was extremely touching to me.
BLs are incredibly emotional for me sometimes and this is now one of the ones that really gets to me. I spent my entire youth and young adulthood solidly in the closet. I NEVER allowed for any connection of any kind to develop. If I felt something for a guy and sensed it was reciprocated, I was ruthless in cutting that dead immediately. That makes me incredibly sad to remember now of course, but it'w what I thought was necessary to survive and I was probably right. So when Fluke went running after his friend, caught up to him and walked with him, and chose not to run ahead, it made me very happy. And teary-eyed too. I hope those two characters can work it out and stick together. A little sequel might be nice.
Easily one of the worst BL/gay movies ever made. lol The over-acting and dubbing was hilarious to begin with, but the pretentious self-serious manner in which the plot and actors plowed forward was an extra comedic bonus. As if a lecherous theatre professor gave his favorite student a big budget for a BL, and this is what they came up with. Horrible.
Why was everyone hot for the frail and sickly-looking Lin Xi? All he did was mope around when he wasn't getting up and running out of rooms or making half-ass attempts to slit his skinny wrists..
What's up with that director's fly shit-speck mustache? I had one like that when I was 13.
At least the other lead actor in the movie-within-a-movie was super hot. Wow. Handsome much? They needed to get his shirt off a great deal more than they did. And put Lin Xi's back ON.
I thought this thing was over, and then it dragged on for another 15 minutes.
All the bellowing and screaming at the end when LX somehow got stabbed was hard to believe...like was this actually a parody? Maybe that's it and I'm just too stupid to catch it.
Lots of chiffon flowing behind men with long black hair running in slow-motion into the night. That was pretty.
You stole the words right out of my mouth... When watching this, my biggest regret was i couldn't enter the TV…
You chose not to engage with most of my questions, but OK. You came on with this long list of specific instances and ways in which YJ was manipulative and consciously so. Now you're backing off somewhat. OK, that's fine. I'm not someone who believes there is one CORRECT way to interpret a film; that would be boring.
What is this "assumption that beginner sociopaths are a certain way" that I have? Hmmm...I'm wondering if you can really manipulate people without being aware you are doing it. Doesn't manipulation require a certain amount of planning with a specific goal in mind toward which you are trying to move people? Can you do that without knowing you're doing it?
When YJ suggested SJ also turn himself in, I took it to mean that SJ should turn himself in for past crimes of an identical nature to YJ's, not that he should take the fall for anything YJ did. But yes, it's relevant that YJ never DID turn himself in and ended up walking free. Still, I remain on the side of believing YJ was mostly naive and oblivious and scared, as opposed to devious and knowingly manipulative.
I also don't think YJ knew until the very end that SJ had a thing for him. I wish he'd caught on early...they'd be a hot couple.
You stole the words right out of my mouth... When watching this, my biggest regret was i couldn't enter the TV…
Wow. I SAW all of this of course, but read it in a completely different way. Now I'm going to have to watch this for a THIRD time, which is OK because I think it's deeply textured enough to still be giving up secrets on a third give-around, but especially because I'll be watching it with this new set of critic's glasses you've handed me.
At this point I don't agree with most of the items on your early "playing the victim" list because SJ came on to him as a friend so aggressively and I didn't see YJ doing anything to LURE him in or anything...and why wouldn't anyone want to be friends with the most powerful, handsome, interesting guy on campus? How does getting beat up by a mob of assholes qualify as "playing the victim?' In that case, he pretty clearly WAS the victim..
I wish we could sit and discuss this after another watch. I really appreciate this completely different take on the film even if I end up not completely getting on board with it.
I DID get vibes along the line of what I think you're saying when YJ said he was going to turn himself in but never did. And at the end when they showed him at the new school, I got vibes like in other films where the psycho serial killer has gotten away with a mass killing or something and they show them moving on to the next group of targets. lol
But don't forget there were elements such as when he delivered the drunk girl to be raped, he was obviously extremely nervous and scared, he didn't act like someone who was used to such things. His horror at seeing what had become of their victims in the hospital seemed authentic. He didn't stand in the hallway smirking at that girl in the bed, he went running in terror when their eyes met.
I see his complicity in everything that went down as passive, rather than active. He ALLOWED circumstances to sweep him along into taking part in crimes; he didn't seem to seek those circumstances out. When he was given new clothes to wear in his role as booze gigilo those were the only clothes he ever wore. He wasn't spending his money on high living; he was trying to pay for mama's hospital bills.
And don't forget how aggressively he chastised his mother for allowing the "uncle" to take care of her bills. Are you saying all of that was fake? For what reason? What purpose? He went to the hospital check-out to pay or find out how much the bill was, and found out it had been paid.
Finally, if you are correct, WHY? What did YJ get out of any of that? We never saw him alone, smiling with glee at having screwed SJ over or getting rich off his booze-pushing job. But yes, he went along with a lot of horrible things, especially to the point of drugging that girl near the end. He was extremely nervous and scared when he did it, but still DID it, which is what matters.
Here's something I was thinking about last night as I watched this? What's with all these guys going to all this trouble to get girls drunk, drug them, drive them across town to a hotel and deliver them to waiting customers? WTF not just hire prostitutes? I guess the customers are particularly depraved and enjoy the thrill of f**king someone who would not consent if they could...? Seems boring to bone a passed-out, unresponsive sexual partner, but that's just me, I guess.
Also...what gives with this "hotel" where you can deliver passed out women over your shoulder without fear of encountering other guests or staff/management in the hallways? I guess the "hotel" is in on the game and gets a cut? Otherwise, how could you leave a room in complete disarray and destruction after a rape gig and then go clean it up without fear of encountering management once again? How was SJ getting into all the rooms? They showed him use a card/key near the end, but only that time. There was this big deal made of cleaning that room...well, who had been cleaning them before? I didn't get that. And if it was YJ who was supposed to clean it up, he didn't seem to know that was something he was supposed to do. They never told him to do it.
Your post has filled me with questions. Now I'm not so sure I want to watch a third time. It may just fill me with more questions that indicate sloppy writing rather than genius plotting.
You stole the words right out of my mouth... When watching this, my biggest regret was i couldn't enter the TV…
Wow. Could you please write a bit about how YJ was a master manipulator...who he manipulated and how? I didn't get that at all...serious question and I'm interested to hear your answer if you're still here on MDL. lol
They both liked eachother last part is proof of that but it was too late
I don't know...I felt like even at the end, YJ was just pretty much a straight guy. He admired and felt good about him as a friend before things went south but I don't really think he returned SJ's feelings.
My theory is that Mario just made that up completely to move things along, and it will likely tie back in somehow…
Let me know what you think. Because that's what I'm talking about...the kiss came out of nowhere and then there seemed to be no after-effects, it felt to me as though it hadn't happened at all.
I stumbled across this on someone's very long gay and BL film/series list here.. I'm so happy I did. Great story. Great acting/direction. Such amazing naturalism...LOVE the ending. It can be excruciating, as a Westerner, to witness some cultural behaviors so different from what I am used to/expect. The scene near the end, with the three of them at the water's edge and the distance kept for so long, had me writhing in my skin...but god, this was good. I wish there was a sequel to enjoy.
I haven't seen anyone mention this: Didn't Peach kiss YO right on the lips in episode 4 after Yo sang? Yet nothing seems to have been made of it, either in the script nor here in comments. What's up with that? Isn't it kind of a big deal to kiss your "friend" right on the mouth? What's up?
My theory is that Mario just made that up completely to move things along, and it will likely tie back in somehow…
To me, the coming back to life thing could work if the reason/mechanism for why it happens is convincing, which is a tall order.

A really good dramatic actor too, as seen in "light."
