Title Like Love
Love your comment! I watched the uncut first part w/ spanish subs and then switched to the multiple sections in…
Thank you for letting me know, Dee. It's nice to know someone connected with my thoughts on this wonderful series, which has since dropped to third place after watching I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon. :) But this one has such an original, quirky but heart-felt vibe that it will always be in my top ten. I hope they DO make a third installment.

Title Peach of Time Spoiler
My theory is that Mario just made that up completely to move things along, and it will likely tie back in somehow…
I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even catch that plot hole. Probably because I was sobbing off and on thru the entire episode. But yes, one of them would immediately have said "well then, why aren't YOU an evil demon? Or...ARE you? lol

Someone in this thread suggested that Mario will turn out to be YO's dad, which DID occur to me at one point...STILL wondering about the over-sized suit he wears. Same commenter said something about YO ending up COMING BACK TO LIFE for some reason and his mother dying...at which point I was like "this all makes perfect sense and a great twist, but why would she die and how could he possibly be brought back to life?" The power of Peach's love for him?

Either way, it really is a good series. I don't go for BL ghost stories easily, but this one has me hooked.

I bet Mario is Yun Oh's father. He is from Thailand. Yun Oh's mom (Moon Sung), despite being Korean, teach Thai…
Why do you think Mario's suit is two sizes too big? There HAS to be a reason for that.

Mario said that ghosts should resolve their deep sorrow b4 their 49th day to avoid become evil spirit. So it means…
My theory is that Mario just made that up completely to move things along, and it will likely tie back in somehow about why HE is still around after all this time.

I think this is the first BL since the week I first discovered the BL Universe more than a year ago that I have cried continuously thru entire episodes. If we get what we all want for Yoon Oh, and what is best for him, we also know it will come with excruciatingly painful side-effects. Jimmy is doing a great job with this role. He's not just a happy-go-lucky goofball, he's a very specific goofball with a specific personality. Jae Hyun is not only a beautiful young man, but a tremendously gifted, subtle actor. And there is no way to say enough about how effectively the role of Yoon Oh's mother is being played. Such nuance and subtlety. I see her and I think cold steel and hard surfaces but all her edges are soft. I felt that way from the first time I saw her in this series. She is a big part of why I cry through entire eps here. I'm old enough to relate to the parental perspective.

The scene with all three of them at the table, and the story of the cat from Yoon Oh's childhood was powerful. I nearly gasped out loud when I realized what Peach was going to do.

"And yes, I think the industry is homophobic and the fanbase is rather misogynistic" That doesn't sound like a "hypothetical" to me. :)

If you do, let me know. I will be sure to read it. Fascinating topic, either way, as the gut response would be to say "well of COURSE it's not homophobic. It's all about boys having romances and sex with each other." But I also know things are never that simple or clean cut.

"like me?" lol You don't know shit about me. Who said an effeminate man can't play a butch role? I know a lot of actors who do it frequently. It's called "acting."

And my comments "sound" homophobic to YOU. And I still don't care.

Also, yes, you're right, most people DO NOT want to see an effeminate man in a leading BL role who ACTS effeminate in the part. Do you know anything about the development of BL? Where it came from? It doesn't sound like it. If you want stories about effeminate men romancing effeminate men, then you are looking in the wrong place. That's YOUR problem, not the genre's.

Why in the world does a movie or series have any obligation to present itself as something it was never trying to be? Why don't you write a great BL screenplay with a lady-boy protagonist, and we'll see how far that goes. lol I'm sure there are plenty of productions of the type you're seeking; they're just not in the BL aisle.

Could you provide some solid evidence for your second statement? Because the generality you are making would mean the MAJORITY of the fan base and industry workers are those two things. I'd want to see some pretty conclusive proof of that before taking it on as a belief.

Of course I do. Why wouldn't I? There aren't tons of those kinds of roles available, but I can think of quite a few gay/effeminate roles off the top of my head out ofHollywood even that have been played by men who are "masculine" (and even within that characteristic there is a lot of fluidity, right?) In this case I was also thinking/writing very specifically about Earth the actor. Because within that spectrum of effeminacy required of different roles, there is or should be a lot of gradations. Yet, to me, Earth is always the same, delicate, shrinking flower who would fall over if you breathed on him too hard. I wish he'd work on honing his craft instead of just hauling out that stock character when needed. Likewise, one of my beefs with Pinoy BLs is that the stereotypical, screaming-queen effeminate, in your face lady-boy or trans characters show very little variety. They don't play characters, they play types.

Please attempt to get over yourself. My comments about Earth's effeminate qualities "sound pretty homophobic" to YOU and you don't speak for everyone on this comment board. I have zero problem with naturally effeminate men. You are trying to manufacture an issue here where there isn't one and you're failing.

MY POINT, which is clear, is that Earth is effeminate in ALL of his roles, which means he is not a very good actor. An actor takes on different attributes and qualities according to the reality of the character he is playing. If Earth comes off as effeminate in every audition when he reads for different roles, then why would you expect him to be cast as anything other than that?

I'm a gay man and know more than a few effeminate homosexuals. A couple of them are actors and have no problem getting cast in all sorts of roles because they know how to set aside their natural traits if necessary to audition for a particular role. Seems to me Earth typecast HIMSELF with his approach to acting. Maybe it's paying off, as he gets a lot of effeminate roles, I don't know, do you?

Are you alleging that ALL BL fans are homophobic and misogynist? lol Hardly. But it probably pleases you to think so, so go ahead. I don't care.

...and who is it that would be paying commenters to write and post comments which "insult" the series and its participants? What would they gain by that?

As for the rest of your post, old grannies have been saying that for hundreds of years.

I want to make it clear here that I never said "man up" or "fight back." Bullying is not the fault of the victims. But presenting AS a stereotypical victim before anything has happened to you isn't the way to go either. Bullies are drawn to that like blood in the water. It has never surprised me that some kids/victims finally break and go on shooting sprees or act out in other violent ways.

I've never taught high schoolers, but those students in the scenes I'm referring to were shouting insults from the back of the room for minutes and the teacher did nothing. NOTHING. How about a "SILENCE, IMBECILES!, you're off to the principal's office?" or at least a general "SHUT UP NOW!?"

Fuck. So I'm enjoying the hell out of a BL cut of this series I found online, and I go to see if it's on YT because the stream I'm using keeps cutting out...and I discover Cha In Ha has been gone for two years. He is my favorite part of LWF and my chest is heavy with sadness. What the fuck is it with the Korean entertainment industry? Mowing down its most talented artists right and left with its twisted bullshit.

Naturally, this being Korea, his management agency and the authorities have hush-hushed the cause of death so as not to "cause any undue sadness and suffering for the grieving family..." Yeah right. As if we don't all know how it went down. Yet another suicide.

I found K-Pop/SHINee/Jonghyun and BL about the same time 15 months or so ago. I rocked out to SHINee and especially Jonghyun for about two weeks and then I discovered HE was dead already...of, you got it...suicide. Goo Hara, Sulli, how many others we don't know about?

I had NO idea at all about In Ha, bless his soul. I'm kind of reeling, seeing as how I've just spent two hours laughing my ass off at his comedic acting and lusting after his beautiful face and body, only to learn this unspeakable news. I'm going to have to put off watching the rest of LWF until sometime later. Fuck.

The sickest part of all this is that there seems to be no apparent change in behavior, either among the talent companies or the insane K-fans who slither all over the Internet, chewing up and spitting out the hearts of very young entertainers at the slightest provocation. Fuck South Korea.

Another gorgeous, talented, very young man dead long before his time, and we'll never know exactly why. Fucking bizarro. And what is it about celebs dropping like flies over the years of suicide and drug/alcohol abuse at the age of 27?

Ugh. I'm out after the first 12 minutes of the first episode.
Lamest, gayest, homophobic "bullies" ever. Spare me.
The spineless, wimpy, whiny main character is annoying af. I might have locked him in the toilet too. It's funny to read all the praise below for Earth's acting. I think he is the same spineless, whimpering, milquetoast, effeminate person in all his roles. It's like watching the same character, just in different circumstances.
t's one of those series that feels poorly directed and kind of amateur from the very beginning. What teacher stands there for 20 minutes while asshole students yell insults from the back of the room and then finally threatens them with punishment after the damage is done?
The head bully is playing a caricature of the classic BL bully and it's not working. There's nothing about him that is intimidating so why would people be afraid of him?
And we all know exactly where the plot is headed from the start.

FIRST EPISODE DROPPED.

Maybe BounPrem's ep will be better.

Could you please explain how saying English is your fourth language is a "racist" statement? I would think it impossible to be racist toward a person whose race, nationality, culture and skin color are entirely unknown to me. Come on, I need a good laugh.

This comment, as written, makes zero sense. Apparently, "some people" do not WANT to enjoy a show, they watch it hoping it will be a bad experience for them. And rather than hoping to have their invested time rewarded with an enjoyable experience these "people" care about "visual and day dreaming."

English as a fourth language much? lol

General comment to those here denouncing posters who don't like this show for various reasons as "haters:"

If an actor's or director's work is horrible, annoying and substandard, then saying so is not the least bit out of bounds. And if a professional's work, as in any other industry, is terrible, then they should indeed seek a different line of work.

I don't "hate" anyone involved with this show. I don't know them, which is a requirement to develop hatred toward someone. I don't even "hate" their work. I dislike their work and think it's really, really bad, but that's a far cry from "hatred."

Commenters like you throw the words "hate" and "haters" around in a weak-ass, sideways effort to imply that the comments are PERSONAL in nature and therefore irrelevant. Pathetic. To hate Gun, who I would guess to be a nice, funny, stand-up guy in person, I would have to know him first. Guess what? I don't and neither do the hundreds of other commenters here who have expressed their opinion.

If you are going to act as a professional, then you should expect to be critiqued, sometimes harshly. That's nothing new. Baseball players get reamed when they drop a fly ball, basketball players get called on when they make mistakes and miss the hoop, and actors sometimes get ripped when their acting is awful. Way of the world. Grow up.
