I want to start watching this because of the high rating, is it really that good?
Too good. It's really addictive. Give it a try. It's totally worth it.

There was this poster theory so according to it, baek yi jin's pen name is actually "kim yijin"
This could be true. I always felt that mother look too young to be Baek Yi jin's mother.

If this is true, I wonder why he named his daughter after his pen name? 🤔

How about kim min chae didnt recognised byj when her grandma ask her at the early episode?
She didn't recognize her own mother (he doo) either. Maybe she couldn't recognize because they looked so young in those photos? They must've used a different actress to play old Hee do for a reason. TBH i was also convinced that they won't end up together because of some scenes I've witnessed in the episode 14. But i will keep hoping for a happy ending because I don't belive in obvious endings.

I think it might have a sad ending, means no endgame. I guess their relationship ends at the ages 25 21 ik doesn't…
I hate to say this but I was pretty much convinced the same thing after all these signs they gave us. When Baek yi jin asked what is the most memorable competition for na hee doo.. She said it was the competition in 2001. When she said that, Beak yi jin's expressions changed alot like it has something to with him. Maybe it was very memorable because they had to break up because of something happened in that competition? I hope im wrong but thats how i felt. In 2001 Ne hee do was 21 years old. But for now, I decided to belive in baekdo end game because they still haven't officially introduced any man as hee do's husband.

My friend said maybe she really is Baek yi jin's biological daughter but later Na hee doo married someone else.…
Oh yes i saw that theory. But i don't wanna belive that theory 😭 don't want her to die. That couple also deserves a happy ending

That ring is fake 🤣 some one edited it. But appa part is true.
Oh really? I was really happy to see that ring because even if he's not with hee doo that means he's married someone else right... I'd rather have that as the ending than him being forever single and heartbroken 😩

If Na hee do married someone else it's quite possible to give his family name to Na hee do's daughter instead of beak yi jin's family name. But i get what you mean. Even i don't have a proper explanation for that. We all talk based on fan's theories right now. But i can't belive min chae born after 2009 either. Because then the time lines won't match.

Red sleeve ending’s was already known because it was korean history
If 2521 drama is really based on the 2521 song, ending of this story should be already known as well 😭

How do you explain “KIM” as Min Chae’s family name if she is really Baek Yijin’s daughter?
My friend said maybe she really is Baek yi jin's biological daughter but later Na hee doo married someone else. But it makes sense. If she's 15 in 2021 she was probably born around 2006 or 2007.

I've seen on Twitter some crazy theories. People can hear a child voice that says "appa" (father) from the background during the interview in 2009 (i also heard that when watched that clip again. Don't know if it has anything to do with the story line though) and also Baek yi jin wears a ring on his left hand during the same interview so people are still assuming they will end up together. I don't know if i can belive these theories anymore but i decided to belive in baekdo end game until i see another man as min chae's father.

we don't watch dramas to have a reality check. We know reality sucks lol
So true... At least one more person who doesn't seeks for reality even in the dramas. Thank you.

But considering her daughter was 15 in Korean age in 2021.... Shouldn't Hee Do already have the kid by then?????
Yes this is true but they didn't say she got married at age 29. Baek Yi Jin said "even its late, congratulations on your marriage.". Maybe she got married around 25, 26 but Yinjin is congratulating her at age 29 because that was the first time they met since then...? 😭 Oh no... Thats not good. I still have hopes for a happy ending between them.

Im so happy he's alive. Thats all i wanted. But seeing them trying to break them up within two episodes seems…
It's your personal opinion. For me, what they have is (relationship) not something that can break off just because they chose different paths in the life. What you said is true. In real life these things happen. But that takes time, it has a process. After all these things they showed us throughout 14 episodes, if they gonna show us choosing different paths drifted them apart, that won't be convincing. If that really is the case, they should've let us see how that really happened like how choosing different paths in life led them to breakup. We didn't just witness love. We witness how they became stronger together, how they relied on each other and went through hard times. That was definitely something even more than love, something wonderful. If you think they can break it within two episodes just because they chose different paths, that definitely wouldn't make much sense to me. Your reason is not unrealistic but if that's the case they shouldn't have tried this hard to develop that wonderful relationship between them without any conflicts or issues throughout the whole story. They should've gotten a different approach for this story. But with the approach they got so far, that kind of reason within 2 episodes which separated them will not be realistic at all.

Wow. Seeing people say Yi Jin being dead would be better than no Baekdo Endgame is too much for me and feels insulting…
Im so happy he's alive. Thats all i wanted. But seeing them trying to break them up within two episodes seems really unrealistic after everything happened throughout 14 episodes. I never wanted him to die but that'd be more realistic reason for them to break up than whatever the reason they're gonna show us in next two episodes for the separation (if they really did separate). But being unrealistic is better than him being dead 😂

Question, before this clears up next week.. why is there a speculation that YiJin is dead?? I did not buy it but…
This drama is based on the song name "twenty five twenty one" by jaurim. singer said in an interview that song was about her ex boyfriend who passed away at age 25 due to overworking. And also there was a photo they took after last shooting. In that photo, people couldn't recognize an actor who would've played old Baek yi jin's character. All the other actors were there (including old he doo). So people thought the reason we couldn't see an actor who could've played old Baek yi jin's character is probably because he died at age 25 in the drama. When they started to show us signs of them not being together in the present, these theories got pretty convincing. This how this whole "dead" theory came up.

If you'd analysed correctly the first even ,the tv interview is in 2009 which is 8 years after yijin was 25 and…
That's exactly what I'm saying. If that's the reason for their breakup, they should've showed us what happened within those 8 years little by little. Like they were keep missing each other or they couldn't talk to each other.. Things like that which led them to their breakup. That is something they should've showed us little longer. But they didn't. If they are going to show it in the next two episodes after the relationship they had so far, that will not be a realistic ending. Any reason that they're gonna show us in the next two episodes won't justify their breakup now. We have seen a very strong relationship between them. You really think they can break it off by just showing us something like that within 2 episodes? For me, it makes no sense.

All worries aside, this is so not right. If this is gonna have a sad ending they could've hinted a proper reason at least once. They had a little fight in episode 14. But that is not a good reason for them to break up. This is really unrealistic. Whole drama was focused on their relationship. So far, nothing has happened that could lead to a breakup. Even in the preview of episode 15,they looked happy while going through a rough patch. That means they were still going very strong even after that fight. But they won't end up together in the end? What the hell is that. I've seen dramas where leads didn't end up together. But those dramas gradually showed us the reason why they fell apart at least from the middle of the drama. But in this, they showed us nothing but their bond getting stronger and stronger. If they show us their separation in the end out of nowhere, it wouldn't make much sense. I know in real life, every relationship doesn't have a happy ending. But that comes with a reason. That reason doesn't happen overnight. It takes time and breakup itself is a process. If they really wanted to separate them in the end, they should've showed us that process. Process of keep getting hurt by each other, getting tired of each other or process of any other valid reason. Even the issue with their relationship as a reporter and a subject is fine, as long as they showed us its happening gradually with the time. But they didn't. This is really unrealistic. If Baek yi jin died, that would've make much more sense than this. I can't imagine a breakup out of nowhere now. Even if they show us the reason in the next two episodes, that wouldn't be enough to convince myself about the sudden breakup after their strong relationship that we have witnessed throughout 14 episodes.
