Title The Lead
Ok, with today’s episode, I now understand why people are saying she won’t end up with Feng XiaoXiao. He is clearly like their other group mate (2 FL), jealous of the FL. Because how do you claim to love someone and then do not even let her speak or explain and walk away.
He was already feeling less than when he saw her name as a lead on the PlayBoard. Since she achieved that fairly quickly. Instead of instant happiness for her, he felt envious and less than.

This is the difference between him and Liu HongBing (even as an annoying stalker). Liu HongBing feels genuinely happy for FL’s growth and success. He is confident in his person.

There is nothing worse than being with someone who is not confident and feels threatened by you.

You've never had to survive alone, have you?Fighting back is easy when you have somewhere to go... When you have…
Exactly! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I wholeheartedly agree with your summation.

I excited to see the rest of the show and hopefully we are not only fed Cinderellas and kumbayas from the FL.

I get your point. I even whole heartedly agreed with it during her younger days, but mehn, she’s not experiencing growth as a person.

Life lessons make people grow up. Even you and me are a sum of life lessons so far.
But FL isn’t growing from life lessons at all, and it feels off.
No one goes through life without learning things that shape their character and behaviour as they go along.

This is from a web novel adaptation (according to MDL). I doubt it’s a real person’s story. Book adaptations are filled with creative liberties (E.g Harry Potter)

I didn’t say fight. I said self preservation and it includes not seeking friendship with those people or walking away from them.
Every person has an instinct of self preservation, even animals.
So, o do not think you understand my comment. Also, the people she’s supposed to avoid are not the people who feed her, not the troupe. Even her master in earlier episodes flogged her for her foolishness.

She’s just naive and that was ok initially. But, at 22+, she’s experienced even so much worse than someone her age not to have matured in her brain.

The naivety of the FL up until now (Ep. 31), is so nerve wrecking. I understand she has no education and just a girl brought from the mountains, but, my gosh! She’s already 22+ and still allows those who have hurt her (and she knows) come close to her or seek their friendship.
Where is her natural instinct for self preservation??? This is definitely a flaw in the scriptwriter.
You don’t need to write someone who never learns and is always a willing sacrificial lamb (by her actions and inactions).

Jeeezzzzz!!!!

I hope her grown up in mind phase comes soon. It’s frustrating to watch this constant timid and naive 22+ years FL.

Hmm… your comment is quite hypocritical, don't u think? You’re criticizing people for “policing opinions”…
No. I’m complaining about the clogged thread. You simply cannot tell people how to rate a drama. Tastes differ. Clogging a thread with complaints won’t change how people feel or perceive a drama. However, a clogged thread affects the thread. I come to see what people think or are discussing about a particular episode, scene, or character, and instead of that, I see fights about ratings that are derailing the thread.

Anyway, my rant is over. Everyone can carry on.

But butching about it doesn’t change it, it just clogs the thread.
People are who they are, some malicious, some good, that’s how it goes.

Instead of complaining of people’s behaviour, maybe promote the drama and leave comments of what’s great about it. That will help anyone trying to decide whether to watch it, to see great reviews instead.

Some people look through comment threads instead of just rating.

Also, anyone curious enough will check the drama out by themselves.

It’s so annoying coming to a drama’s thread to read commentaries about the drama, and then it’s filled with comments of people bitching and policing the ratings of the show. Jeez! Don’t tell me only kids use MDL? Or are they the paid by production team/fan clubs, because, seriously, they are better things to do than trying to police fellow internet users of their opinions.

People are allowed to like or dislike a drama and should have the right to rate it too. This is a public forum after all.

STOP CLOGGING THE THREADS!

PS: this is not just about this drama. I have noticed it on others as well. Just venting about this childish behaviour here.

This drama would have been perfect if it ended how it started. They decided to introduce a stupid and silly arc in the last 10 episodes, and still didn’t manage to tie it up properly 🤦‍♀️.
It’s unfortunate it fell into the C-drama trap of adding storylines that add no value to the overall plot line of a show towards the end. I don’t know why they do this. Only few C-dramas have managed to avoid this.

All the same, I still largely enjoyed the show. The characters were fun to watch and the letter Ye Xian left the FL was so heartwarming.

Unfortunately I agree with you. I can't understand the point of the story. It's not moving forward and goes in…
Everything you said. Such a wasted opportunity for what could have been a Wuxia masterpiece. Unfortunately, it seems Wuxia is not the place for 正午阳光 (DAYLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT). To think this is their first Wuxia production according to news.

Great fights scenes, superb cast, the story and writing is very slow and uninteresting. Im fast forwarding half…
Unfortunately I agree with you. I can't understand the point of the story. It's not moving forward and goes in circle with the same villains. Nothing gets resolved, even for a tiny bit. For Wuxia, that's boring. Sword snow stride, even The Blood of Youth (which is adventure, seeking revenge/solving a case Wuxia), moved forward faster story-wise.

How brilliantly they showed the difference between healthy and disturbed unrequited love. YX, although he still…
And the funny thing, is that CXQ's love wasn't even unrequited. He is the one who broke her heart and still has the guts to play victim. Meanwhile, YX was courageous to express and reach for his love, and the FL let him down kindly (by explaining her reason for not choosing him in the kindest way possible).
The person who always had the chance in the first place, chose his ambition over her. SMH!

I always pause whatever show I’m watching to watch the latest episode of this series once it drops. Today’s episode didn’t disappoint at all. Our 舅舅 (Hu San Yuan) is back in play at our Troupe housing. Can’t wait for upcoming episodes. 😁

Finally finished this one. It is a cute light-hearted, butterfly in the tummy, drama. Enjoyed it.
