The first episode was really good and better than I expected. I like all of the side characters, Kawi is relatable and it is sooooooo wonderful to FINALLY see Gawin in a lead role. Kob Songsit Rungnopakunsi is 100% my favorite BL dad! Also, the chemistry between Krist and Gawin is strong. I'm looking forward to episode 2.
ABAAB was the series I was least excited about for the OS2 episodes and the one where I was the least invested in the characters/relationship. Since I was also completely underwhelmed by the later episodes of ABAAB, I had very low expectations for these OS2 episodes. But in the end, I think they were best OS2 episodes so far. Because the previous episodes gave me varying degrees of disappointment, my standards may have lowered too much.
I wouldn't rewatch these episodes, but they fit the original story and did a fine job of selling face cream, food and a car. I'm pretty sure that was GMMTV's ultimate goal, so I think they met the goal.
The writing wasn't great and since Gun's issue was being a bad boss, I don't think learning how to use a photocopier or getting drinks made him a better boss. But Thai writers will likely never learn how to write believable BLs set in an office, so I accept that the plot doesn't matter. And the fluff was fine.
Agree, i dropped ABAAB after ep 4. No idea why people like it so much. Like ForceBook a lot. But the series they…
I thought NLMG was fine and it only went down hill from there. I also really like ForceBook too and I'm looking forward to seeing them in Only Friends. l'm glad that ABAAB was an improvement on what they gave us in Enchante. But both series weren't good overall IMO.
Another Japanese BL that's very underrated. Watching the relationship grow between Futa and Mahiro is truly wonderful. Sooooo much happened in episode 6 that I can't wait for episode 7. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series of the year. The acting is top notch, the writing is realistic and the food theme makes me want to try the meals every time.
I get why the MSP fans are so disappointed. I fell asleep twice during episode 2. The actors were clearly trying their best which I appreciated, but just like with the previous episodes of OS2 the script was completely lacking. This felt like a silly bromance universe that lost most of the heart and depth of the original series. I'm never one to force skinship in every series, but the director was obviously baiting the fans repeatedly and that felt cruel and totally unrealistic for teenagers who were supposed to be in love with each other.
Since ABAAB has gotten progressively worse each week and the trailer for next week appears to be focusing on making Cher more unlikeable than he has been in the original series, I might skip next week. Nothing against ForceBook, but GunCher REALLY haven't earned Our Skyy episodes.
I'm just gonna pray that P'Aof doesn't ruin PatPran and PhuphaTian. Fans have waited soooooo long to see these characters again and half assed throw away episodes would really be the biggest let down in BL history for me.
The one that thought that this was the best idea is either completely out of touch of what the audience desires…
"I seriously feel like they take us for stupid kids that will eat whatever they put in our plate." Yup!!! That is exactly how most companies making Thai BLs (and BLs from some other countries) view BL audiences. It's such a shame because making something that fans would actually enjoy wouldn't take that much effort, but sometimes it feels like they intentionally make shows that audiences will find completely disappointing 😞
You made so many great points but I have to comment on 1.That is quickly becoming one of my biggest pet peeves…
Yup. The pearl-clutching virgin was historically trying to protect her reputation and also trying not to get pregnant which was understandable. But neither apply in BL and it's never fun to watch. I could go on for days about how irritating it is to watch BL writers force tired and outdated heterosexual gender roles/norms into BL plots. But I'll stop here because I don't want to keep piling on B&B they aren't the problem, just the latest in a long trend of writing failures in Thai BLs.

Right. Sex out of obligation is always a shame, but this early in the relationship seems like a red flag if Cher was being serious. Either way, it was awkward to watch.
The low rating is accurate but every scene with Zeke and Fifth make this show worth watching. Oxin is foolish if they don't immediately give them their own series with no dogs. Their chemistry is top tier.

Right. The endless "please don't touch me" from one guy, while the other guy wants nothing more than to touch and be touched makes no sense. I am constantly asking myself WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE IN A RELATIONSHIP?!?!??! It underminds the entire narrative of most shows and is completely unrealistic. Sometimes I wonder if these writers know anything about healthy adult relationships!
Ok, I just finished the episode. Got a few thoughts.1. I hate the trope where one of them (usually the top ngl)…
You made so many great points but I have to comment on 1.
That is quickly becoming one of my biggest pet peeves of many BLs in recent years. It seems like the "bottom" is allergic to touching and sex is a punishment for them. It's really sad the way these writers have normalized that ridiculous narrative. It's so rare to see both men expressing pleasure in the intimate aspects of the relationship, especially in Thai BLs. It's really frustrating in every show that I see it in and I really wish writers would stop forcing grown men characters to behave like that. Most people who are in love, enjoy touching their partner. I don't get why don't writers understand that.
*sigh* 11 episode was a complete and predictable disappointment. I don't want to complain because I've REALLY enjoyed this show. When I saw the trailer and 1st episode, I thought I wouldn't like it, but ForceBook have done a really good job. And even though Cher can be over the top, I like him. This is the 1st Thai office BL that I've liked, mostly because it feels like the writers have some idea of what it's like to actually work in an office. Even though Gun is an HR nightmare. The show isn't perfect, but up until now it's been good.
But Thai BL writers can't help themselves when it comes to ruining the characters in the second to last episode. The second to last episode almost always adds a forced, unbelievable and frustrating conflict that's either caused by a woman (mom or evil jealous desperate girl) or traveling aboard for no reason. It's always resolved in the next episode but it usually makes it clear that one of the characters is not mature enough to handle a committed relationship and that that person is also oblivious to the feelings/needs of their boyfriend. Cher completely regressed FOR NO REASON other than because the second to last episode required it. Cher could have finally grown up and communicated with Gun for ONCE, but the writer thought repeating the same mistake AGAIN would be better for the character 🤬
The problem isn't the characters or actors of these series, the problem is lazy writers who take their audiences for granted and don't understaand the importance of letting characters, no matter their age, grow over the course of a series.
Advice to anyone who hasn't watched the episode yet, just skip it (especially the second half) or watch the last 10 seconds before watching episode 12.
