This series obviously had the experience and production value borne out of the now-maturing BL film industry,…
Your analysis is spot on. And I'm sad that after seeing soooo many subpar BLs this doesn't surprise me at all. These companies want to cash in on the popularity of BL, but don't want to bother to make well written/directed series. Which is why there so many writers/directors with below average talent keep getting jobs. Even when their series are consistently low rated.
I usually check the writer/director before I start a series, so I know what I'm getting myself into. Unfortunately for me, I didn't do that this time. And wasted 45 minutes on something that I should have never turned on. I feel bad for dragging the series, because I'm sure the actors are trying. But when a company doesn't even bother to cast leads with a bit of chemistry, I can't give them a pass. Thai BL has been around for nearly 10 years. Unless fans stop watching the bad ones, the companies will keep making crap and waiting for their cast to become the next it boys.
The "I'm handsome and lonely" trope is always bad. I truly hope it dies QUICKLY!!!
I'm really enjoying this, it's short and sweet but the characters are likable and their story feels fleshed out. So often series with short run times feel rushed and I never really have time to connect to the characters, but this isn't like that. Which is great.
I want more characters like Eddy, he is completely awesome!!!
Ok. I came, I watched, I tried. Double Boom Boom Clap did nothing for me. I only got excited at the mention of…
Aww bestie here we go again 😞. A new show starts and we both drop it after the first episode. This is quickly becoming a depressing 2023 tradition. I hope sooner or later there's a show worth watching again or at least one that is unintentionally funny enough to laugh at each week. See you next time ✌
When I started this I initially thought that this was yet another series with a bunch of newbie actors and a writer/director team making their first series. I was shocked when I quickly realized this was set in the En of Love universe. I figured it out because everyone kept talking about Mark and Vee. I checked MDL and discovered that all of these people have acted before and the writer/director team aren't amateurs 🙃🤯.
YinWar are wonderful and I'm guessing so are their managers since they managed to keep both of them out of this mess. But that's literally the only good thing I can say about the En of Love series. I sat through all 3 mini series and they were watchable, 3 years ago. War's acting and a decent director made a subpar script into compelling tv in Love Mechanics. Even though most of the side characters were unlikeable. But it's 2023 and I don't have the energy to sit through another series where the script is non-existent, the actors didn't take any acting lessons or do a workshop before they started filming and all of the technical aspects are lacking. This MAY have been fine if it came out with the other En of Love mini-series in 2020, but it didn't. I'll be taking a HARD pass on this one.
Lastly, when a character is CONSTANTLY telling everyone around him that he's handsome, he almost never is. Why keep drawing attention to how average or below average the guy's appearance is by constantly bringing up his looks?!?!?!!? I won't bother complaining about the slut shaming and telling a man you just met that he has to be your bottom, because there's no point in continuing to rant about this show.
Predatory that’s the word I’ve been looking for. It was all so abhorrent I wanted to cry. White seems bitter,…
I agree with you. Six months later and I'm still disgusted by everything he and Foei throughout the show. I really loved both seasons of Love Sick, but I'll probably never rewatch them. And I haven't seen any of the new series that White and Foei have been in since Safe House. I'm sure most people have moved on, but that really showed me a lot about both actors in the worst way possible.
I loved ''Run'' from his korean esque part he played in tharntype so that's why I even tuned into this .. but…
After you mentioned the character who wanted to be a Korean Idol, I vaguely remembered him. And the only character I remember from Second Chance is Tong's. I think I've seen too many BLs and have a bad memory 🤦♀️. But I also haven't watched either of those series since they originally aired, so thanks for reminding me of his past works 😁

I literally didn't remember what character he playing in TT until I read your comment. I may be the only person that liked Ai Lhong Nai, but it wasn't because of the writing. This is worse than that though. But I'll keep watching because the bad writing doesn't make me angry like some other series.
When the BL gods blessed us with Moonlight Chicken and A Beautiful Man, I wondered what we did to deserve two nearly perfect series. But the last weeks have shown me that the BL gods were giving us the best to prepare us for an endless list of truly awful series. I was fine with the first episode, because it seemed like everyone was in on the joke. But episode 2 showed me the joke is on the audience. And I'm not laughing.
There were a TON of red flags about this series before it even aired, but I was willing to give it a chance. That was my mistake. I literally can't think of anything positive to say about episode 2 besides it finally ended after my brain had all turned to mush. It sucks that most BL actors who leave GMMTV end up in really bad series. It sucks that this company thought making this was a good idea. From what I can guess from the context clues this series has given us so far, it sucks that these books were popular enough to be made into a series. But what sucks the most is that these people have no idea how the white washcloth works!!! How dare they use the cloth when Day was in a coma and not have him wake up for the 3 days. Wtf?!?!?!?! That offended me more than anything else I just watched. (I'm joking)
I could deal with a cake obsessed cry baby and characters that pop in and out of scenes like something in a low budget stage play. But domestic violence, bullying, another bad mafia subplot and directing that makes perfectly fine actors look more amateur than anything I've seen in a while is too much for me to stick around. I'm so tired of dropping series but I'm done.
During episode 2 I started to wonder if this series was about babysitting, later I wondered if it was about a bunch of people who are all dating each other but don't realize it. I've concluded that it's not really about anything.
I really hope the screenwriter takes some screenwriting classes, because this could be much better. It's nice that this is about regular people, but it's missing the most important aspects of what makes a plot even mildly engaging.
Wow!!!! First there were apples and now we have cake. This MIGHT end up being better than Unforgotten Night because it's clear that everyone is in on the joke. The actors know the assignment and are delivering messy, trashy, toxicity 👏👏👏. I never thought Frank could give us such an awful character, but he's doing a GREAT job making me want to slap Itt.
As long as they don't include any rape, I'm going to enjoy this mind-numbing disaster.
Wait bestie!?!??!?! Are you dropping a series 🤯🙃? I didn't think anything could break you after you've survived…
You know I get it. I started All the Liquors and dropped it faster than I dropped this one. If I can't get invested in the story or characters, there's no point in me sticking around when there are other series. Tin Tem Jai is bad, but no worse than Restarted and Ai Long Nhai. It's harmless enough for me to stick with it and my Mondays are empty so it fills the time.
Usually, the first episode of a series exists to introduce the characters and give audiences a reason to look forward to future episodes. This premiere felt like a filler episode in the middle of a series. I tried to finish it, but when the rude female customers came in and vowed to ruin the restaurant because they didn't like the rules, I turned it off. I can't be bothered to waste time on this one.
I think GMMTV threw this show exactly because it was after MSP and Moonlight chicken. From the trailer and pilot,…
I agree completely. It's going to be simple basic series. Not that bad and not that good. Which is fine, I'm just not ready for something basic after seeing really exceptional series so recently.
I didn't like Enchante, but I wanted to give this a chance anyway and started the 1st episode with very low expectations. So far, it's not awful, but it exists in a world that only someone who has never actually worked in an office could create. Where an intern passes an interview process, but has zero knowledge of how behave in a business setting, but has a better understanding of the product than the actual employees. Yes he's a gamer, but the planning team should know something about how to create a fun game at a video game company. Also, the relationship between an intern and the boss is an HR nightmare! There are going to be a lot of office BLs this year and I'm glad we're moving past high school and college, but the complete lack of believability is taking me out of this series from the very beginning.
On a slightly more positive note, I do think Book's acting has improved a bit. He was easily the worst part of Enchante and I'm still confused about why GMMTV gave him and Force 3 series this year. But I guess he's trying.
This show has the misfortune of airing right after My School President and Moonlight Chicken two of the best series GMMTV has ever made. And I don't think I'm ready to sit through something soooooo average after watching high quality series for the last weeks/months. So I'm pausing on this for now. Maybe I'll watch it when I'm bored in a few months.
Restart(ed) was a mess with the subtitles, but I thought it was really cute, except the child abuse on the part…
It sucks when shows only have fan subs, because when they aren't good it really impacts how inter fans feel about the story. I personally appreciate any subs even when they're bad because at least I can understand most of what's going on. But I think the plot of Restart(ed) wasn't great. I liked it overall, but the dad was truly horrible. I don't even remember who Tisa was, but I usually fast forward when evil women show up in BLs.

See you on Love Syndrome 🤣🤣
Another series added to my drop list!
But of course I agree with you and will also be skipping this one. 🤣
