Insiders were predicting a lifetime gross of CNY 3 billion for LoCH movie. What a butt joke! (Plus the cheating of fudging with the presales numbers to make it rank #1.)

In this end this move will fare no better at the BO than the typical (old age) Jackie Chan movie. RoCH is my favorite story. I despise all other JY stories. Director abandoned RoCH movie half way to chase the filthy lucre with LoCH and XZ. In the end LoCH movie probably will fare no better or slightly worse at the BO than the never finished RoCH.

Typical dumb dumbs think JY is a cash cow just rehash the same sh1t as on TV dramas and the cash will flow in... Nezha 2 just shows you have to deliver a new experience on old story in order to be successful. Some smart guy should just come and be like Nezha1/2 put a Sci Fi twist to JY stories. They already did with Purple River where the anime is set in Tolkien type fantasy Middle Earth but iQiYi came along and made the plot abandoned on a distant planet trying to get back to home on Earth!

There should be fighter spaceships duking it out in JY universe NOT warriors riding on horses...

Nezha looked kool with twin jet-engine exhausts/flames coming out of his soles in Part I. Now, it don't cut it no more. (If you've been following recent Chinese advances in fighter jets) to look kool now requires emitting THREE streams of jet exhaust not two.

On another forum (outside of MDL), I stumbled upon this comment:

"One of my friends went to watch Creation of the Gods 2 and he criticize and curse this movie for 4 hours now."

It's funny, GlobalTimes (Chinese news channel in English language) went all gaga over Creation of the Gods II on the 29/30th. Now they don't even mention it at all.

When posting the latest box office figures on Jan 31, only Nezha 2 and Detective Chinatown 1900 were mentioned on GlobalTimes.

I speculate the author actually went to see the movie, then it left a bad taste in his mouth. So he decided to mention only the Top 2 performers in his news article as endorsing the #3 movie means inviting flak from his readers who went to watch it afterwards!

(That's like this person won gold, that person won silver, but who cares about the guy who won bronze!)


Myself, after having watched the BTS video from Creation of the Gods I, I was shocked how it's actually a White man's production employing only Chinese director/actors/actresses. All the SFX and technical stuff were done in consultation with White ppl from Hollywood! There was no Chinese expert working on this movie. Only Chinese ppl who kowtowed to Westerners for their expertise and made them their literal bosses. In other words, at its heart, this wasn't even a purely Chinese/domestic movie!

#3 Creation of the Gods II made almost 50% as much box office as LoCH movie on CNY. LoCH movie also only earned 50% as much as the #1 Nezha 2.

LoCH was actually leading in presale figures prior to CNY. This leads me to think presale figures for LoCH were counterfeit with fake reservations made by home team.

Jin Yong is dead. Wuxia is dead. Time will tell just how far LoCH falls behind #3 Creation of Gods II in box office figures!

LOL. Sour grape much? Sounds like u don't even know what wuxia is... It's primarily martial arts moves enhanced by SFX. When you trying to portray Douluo Continent or STAR WARS in a Wuxia works, you know something went awfully wrong in the planning/visuals department!

I think it was an "in" joke that if they tried to pull a xianxia with another actor, they'd get a lot of flak for it. But since it's XZ, you know wink wink MC from Duoluo Continent S1 TV drama, they could get away with pulling off cheesy CGI Douluo fights for the LoCH movie...
