The series is made in such a professional, meticulous, and beautiful way that it’s amazing. I really love this series. Hori is a truly impressive actor; he portrays the character so successfully. He turned the manga character into a very deep one and added layers and nuances to it. It’s an absolute pleasure to watch him.

Fujii Ren’s so handsome... he actually gets more handsome with each episode, I don’t remember seeing a Japanese person with freckles before.

whats up with a sitar background music in EP2? it was out of nowhere...
It does feel a bit out of place. It’s part of the scene in episode 1, which is why they also used it in episode 2, but it’s probably the only piece of music that didn’t really fit the series. Even though it’s not that bad either... it just fit less.

I really love it. I love both actors so much, and the background music too — especially the beginning of the song, when there’s that slight melancholy. It’s very moving and captures the feeling perfectly. In general, the music is so important in this series; it adds so much to it.

I think the manga is different in the sense that it puts the spotlight on Zen much more, and much less on Ryo. I do think they should have stuck to that more, even though Ryo’s character is very interesting and moving, and the actor is really excellent. There’s just something charming about Zen in the manga; his naivety adds a lot of humor.

For example, I expected a bit more from episode 2. It was good, but in the manga we hear Zen’s inner voice, I really loved this manga.

I can’t wait for the next episode already. Good thing there’s the manga

I like the series, but not as much as at the beginning. It’s very beautiful, but on the other it’s a bit frustrating because there’s something unconvincing about the dynamic between them.

You can’t say it’s boring, but you expect more progression and for the characters to open up more, especially since it’s supposed to feel more realistic.

One of them is supposed to be more open, so you’d expect him to communicate, but he doesn’t really share. The other clearly feels more, but doesn’t have a partner to meet him there. You do grow attached to them, but not with excitement.

Yeah, I had to do quite a bit of editing to its MDL page after watching half lol…I do like the dark comedy of…
I personally don’t like thrillers, but it seems to me that the Japanese are experts in this kind of series, so I assume it’s done well.

What’s amazing about the Japanese is that even a trashy series is well made. The actors give it their all, they’re always professional, and the bar for casting is high—people who can’t act simply don’t get in. Most of the time, the actors also look good.
They literally recreate the anime one-to-one, exactly the same. At one point I was even convinced that the nerdy character was the anime’s voice actor, because he speaks in exactly the same voice.

What I find funny about this series is that the main character - Kaji Akihiro - is very masculine, and then suddenly becomes the most pathetic person—you start wondering who would even fall in love with someone that pathetic.

It’s a really cute and funny series. The only thing that doesn’t work is the intimate scenes—they’re just unintentionally hilarious.

That’s exactly how I feel, I really see it as a kind of sickness on the part of the writer.
It’s really a shame, as I also wrote above, because I liked this series in the first episodes up until episode 5 when that was revealed. From that point, I really started to get tired of it and feel some kind of aversion. It’s a real shame because I really like the charming actors.

Episode 5, when I found out about his Akira brother’s friend, really made me like the series a lot less because of how he’s portrayed and continues to be portrayed even up through episode 7, as if everything is fine. It just really frustrates me.

The series is overall okay, the pain is justified, everything is presented nicely, and it has a realistic side, but that part felt less realistic to me. I would have expected at least Kanata to get angry about it or even confront him to his face, but nothing happened about it.

If it weren’t a realistic series, I think I would have been more forgiving about it, but if you’re already going for realism, then be realistic in those aspects too. It’s a shame, because overall it’s a very nice series.

You'll like it if you like formulaic kdramas. One episode was enough for me.
Thank you for the warning, I don’t understand this annoying collaboration

Why do I feel like I’m watching a Korean series? I can’t get into it. Is it romantic or more in the direction of cheating and affairs?

It keeps getting better. It’s a bit hard to believe Fukami is a nerd because he really doesn’t look like one, he’s so cute. In the next episode—wow, wow—I can’t wait. It’s a shame the episodes are so short.

The series is very well edited in my opinion and kept me engaged until the end, but it was also very frustrating. The main actor came across as creepy to me in this role. Since I’ve seen him in another role, I know he’s not actually creepy and can be very charming, but he probably isn’t skilled in this type of role, which made his smile and delivery feel forced and unsettling. Still, because the production quality was so strong, it somehow worked on screen.

The actress was also very irritating, but that was partly because her character was written that way. The character was understandable, but maybe because her lack of authenticity was so clear—especially in how infatuated she was with him—it became very bothersome. I kept waiting for some kind of emotional outburst or something more real from her, but when it finally came in the last episode, it felt very weak. She realized he wasn’t right for her, but there was no real depth to that realization. The audience wasn’t taken through what was going on in her mind. She ended up feeling like a very flat character with no depth.

It’s a bit disappointing because the series was well produced overall, but the final result wasn’t that great. Still, it wouldn’t be fair to call it bad.

Dropped. There isn’t much of a plot; it feels slow and not very engaging. The characters don’t feel fully developed, and the story lacks depth. The lead actor doesn’t quite convey the role in a convincing way.
