Get rid of that wig!

Omo! Am I really the only one leaving episode reviews for this drama? lol, well I shall continue doing so in jest, in case one person randomly comes across it. Megalolz, criiiinge :D

Dal Po, I sincerely hope you get rid of that wig (it's reaaallly distracting) but otherwise, what a well-written/well-acted episode. This is major major proof, you don't need large budgets (hem hem the heirs) to create a good drama. But then...I'm jumping the shark!

Good, bordering on excellent, from start to finish.

Worth a try, drama folks! Let's hope episode 3 mantains the consistency.

(Shin Hye's re-imagining of the IHYV segment, and her playing a corpse;...pure genius! It really gave me a flavour of her character, and it's her most likeable yet! Yipeeee. I knew you had it in you, girl!...just keep it up)

Starry-eyed material

Vast improvement to the previous episode. The writers like connecting the dots as well, so everything is less random. Like the infamous nosebleed...he get's by walking into a stone! The pervert guy doesn't just "randomly" know she's a girl- but by peeking at her through the window. Lots of comedic moments. THIS is what I want to see people. Keep it up! Thanks for the quick subs ;)

Gothic, but not Gothic

Be aware, this entire episode review is laced with epithets, and not actual names.

The Angel: We first meet Lian's daughter as she descends from a cab, in ultra fabulous shoes, and a crowd of disgruntled workers part way for her, momentarily stunned. However once they recognize her, they don't hesitate in throwing her to the ground, and tearing possessions out of her hands. She runs away, virtually homeless overnight. Numerous calls to her nearest and dearest go unanswered.

The Angel is a typical Candy heroine, with a spark of fire in her, shown when she attacks a fare-dodging male in a car park, and befriends the parking lot attendant.

The Immortal: He rescues our Candy heroine twice, but is enigmatic enough, for me to be fiercely fascinated about him. I hope his intentions remain unclear a little longer. We don't know much about him, except he has a chauffeur that doubles up as a PI, and he's engaged to Angel's classmate, though it's clear, she's more into it than him, as he warns her about getting hurt further along the line. He is also, a tiny bit hot.

The Good Samaritan: Clearly the second male lead, and very small screen time, but his appearance hits an unexpected punch. Mistaking our Candy Heroine for a domestic abuse victim, he delivers such an empowering speech, that even those listening in, will feel uplifted and have faith in humanity thrice-fold. Even I was ready to swing a lasso and catch a cow, in metaphorical speech.

The Parking Lot Attendant: Also helps the heroine out, by giving her food, clothes and a place to sleep. But her no-nonsense approach is impressive. She doesn't accept freeloading, and lines a job up for Candy heroine straightaway.

Angel's Classmate: Also fiance of the Immortal. Classmate gets the unexpected upperhand, when Candy comes into her place of work, asking for a job. She is the driving force to the cliffhanger, that leaves me excited for the upcoming episodes.

Things that can be Improved: Make the heroine less Candy. I like her, and she has spirit. But I would like her to be less taken advantage off as the show progresses. Overall, the show gives me a mysterious, gothic not gothic, vibe I didn't realise I was searching for, until I found it.

Watcheable Gold, undeniably precious

I am so in love, and utterly devoted to this show. I will be crying into my pillow when the final week of airing arrives ;'(

Whoever wrote this drama...I want to snog them. I also want to snog all the actors yes even the corner street ajummas's...

It keeps me on the edge of life. That sounds so sad, but it's true. How rare for me to witness a drama such as this...

At this rate, I am praying the final 7 episodes have the same wow factor. They have not disappointed me so far and it will take a HUGE drop in standards for them to fall from grace.

Secret - Hwaiting!

Great eye-candy, beautiful sets, english...meh

Already, I am salivating over the golden beaches of california, the wardrobes of the well-to-do, and the rich colours so artfully employed in like every other shot.

Park Shin Hye had to sob quite a bit in this episode, and I felt sorry for her. The girl is a credible actress (just look at her MV's) but the writers are making her life too hard-up and sorrowful. I just wanted her to cheer up^^ (Good news, looks like it will in the next ep! Unleash that smile, girl.)

Lee Min Ho is that prodigal son banished to the US, in the pretense of "studying." His english is shockingly bad for a kid meant to have grown up there, but I genuinely appreciated his efforts, and he made me laugh^^

Min Hyuk is playing Park Shin Hye's BFF back in Korea. Besides - I already see a theme of bullying cropping up with that chaebol son (you know...meany guts), so I see a BOF parallel there.

I want to drown in this drama. It's so beautiful!

PS: I watched with eng subs on Viki. Thanks Viki!

J'ADORE CA!!!!

Fallen hook, line and sinker for this show. Drama of 2012? Well, it's shaping up to be! So pleased there's 16 episodes, and not 8 like some people were scaremongering with. Shi Won is pregnant, and the writers, are clearly playing a clever game which unfortunately I can see right through :P

YOON JAE IS HER HUBBY! Boo-yah.

I like Tae Woong. Seriously, I do. I remember his face from Princess Man. But he clearly had a thing with her sister, and it's really unfair for YJ..

Sheesh kebab. I can go on forever! Like something interesting about Hak Chan...and the busan dialect (which is off-putting for some, why I don't know!)

Yeah. Just more tenterhook material. YJ tells Shi Won to grow-up and stop pawing him, if she's dating other men...very cute arc with the puppy storyline. More reviews later!

Some kinda whack storyline....

This drama is gooooood. I want to go into that ahjumma's head and find out everything bad that happened, for her to come back and correct the timeline!

A few people are fangirling over BOTH leads (as in Mi Rae could choose either one) but for me, there is no contest. Kim Shin gives me the creeps. That ajumma really doesn't want her younger self to marry him, because it will lead her down a road of misery, and I actually believe her and think Kim Shin is maybe some physcopath in disguise... (???)

Yoon Eun Hye is brilliant. Yong hwa is really good too, though that stud in his ear always gives me flashbacks to Heartsrings :P Which is irksome, but I think I can deal...

Wow, the autumn dramas are so good this year

Action, with a side-helping of betrayal

Loved episode 2!

It starts with Sun Jae doing a deal with the devil, on the back of it, he convinces his "brother" Ji Won to cremate the body of their father fast without an autopsy. Ah, the betrayal! *clutches heart* Ji Won is too smart for his own good (that's how Sun Jae probably sees it^^) and notices he's being followed. He returns the favor, by following the "minion" all the way to a drugs den and finds a crucial piece of evidence that his dad was murdered after all. Sun Jae goes into full-blown panic mode and orders traps all over the place, whilst still pretending he's Ji Won's bigger supporter to his face. Ah, betrayal number 2 *keels over*

But no...

After being framed for a minion's death, Ji Won is now a fugitive and can only turn to Khaya (Moon Chae Won.)

Their chemistry is sizzling and off the charts.

The ending......daebak.

Can't WAIT for next week! Goodbye Mr Black has started strong, even when filming in a foreign country and using Thai actors. This is a big production done right.

Gidgbsjg874....this episode reduced me to gooblededook

I love this drama so much, it hurts. Every scene is scintillating and exciting. I enjoyed Se Yeon passing Min Hyuk a copy of "wuthering heights" and telling him to see how revenge stories play out. Of course he aptly dropped it on the floor.

There was such an unexpected/surprise comedic moment when Min Hyuk accidentally calls his "obsession" and puts her on speakerphone in the boardroom. OMG, ROFL, LMAO, HAHAHAHAHA

It's nice to see the prisoners bond on the "outside" together, and even move in/vist each other. Hwang Jung Eum manages to catch up with that girl who hurt San in prison, and Do Hoon recieves a "surprise" package, that literally throws everything up in the air and the episode finish on a dramatic cliffhanger.

J'adore ?

Return to pleasantville....

I liked this episode very much. It's my favorite out of the 3 :D This was because there was strong(ish) writing balanced with beautiful scenery, and I felt both complimented each other.

So it turns out Kim Tan and Young-Do used to be bullying buddies back in middle school, but Tan's evolved into an introspective young man and Young-Do is still stuck at that age :/ It'll be interesting to see both of them falling for Eun Sang (love triangles are such a guilty pleasure)

I am looking forward to 2moro very much, and the subbed episode!!! All the best. x

PS: Shirtless Minho AND shirtless woo bin...i think i died and went to abs heaven. purrrrrrr

Charming...

They did a beautiful job building up suspense about that murderer, and if he was going to attack her or not...but the previews for the next episode is a curse, as much as it is a blessing...

How can they reach a climax, and then show the next episode, of her going about life as usual? Now I can predict she'll open the closet...and nobody's there...just the phone the guy's left behind.

This episode made me LOL, with the whole "going-back-to-school" plotline, and Cha Kwan Woo, just makes me grin whenever he's on screen...he's really working that nerdy image, walk, everything to a tee.

Will keep watching for the foreseeable future. Would love to be proved wrong, on opening the closest, no-one's there theory...will make a change :D

Shocking

This first episode was really shocking. The cute "fantasy" moments were hard to swallow, when it was sandwiched between the hanging of Seo Hwa's brother and then Dam commiting suicide by hanging. These aren't light topics! But I was highly engrossed in the story, and totally forgot Lee Seung Gi is meant to be in this! I'm almost glad. Though I would prefer to follow the parent's story, their story is extremely dark and sorrowful. Any sweet moments will be overshadowed. At least with Lee Seung Gi, it will be a blank slate. I'm just sad, this drama isn't about the parents in happier circumstances! They were both amazing xxx (And hot!)

Running into the arms of the Enemy

One thing I don't understand. If she was going to run away, why run into the bad guy's arms? Finding out your husband is some mythical creature/monster must be some shock, but he's a million times better than some rapist & his motley crew!

I disagree with the people who said Seo Hwa is really irritating about being "noble" and "pretentious" and should've listened to the head gisaeng. Just because other girls fall on hard times and fall into prositution, does that mean you should too? I think people are mistaking her pride, for superiority, which is similar but also very different.

However I am not pleased she betrayed Wol Ryung! That unsympathetic look in her eye, when she accosts him at the river. Jeez. Not cool at all, man. At that moment, I almost wished he plunged the dagger into her heart, and remained "Guardian of the Mountain."

But of course she was pregnant, and that would've ruined the story. I wonder if Wol Ryung actually became a 1000 year old demon...

Overall, great episode. I'm a little nervous about Suzy, but I'll give the next few episodes a go.

Decent, waiting for more

That kiss was particularly weak. All the chemistry in the world, can come to a null point if the two leads don't kiss properly! All they did was touch lips and look stiff. I hope they bring back more humour in the next episode, because that's it's only saving grace. For dramas like Hana Kimi, seriousness really doesn't work.

Nosedive

Hesitant about writing this review. But it needs to be written.

I thought we were getting somewhere with ep 3 (and going back to Korea) but it's reverted back to type! With such a huge budget, I wish they upped the writers wages more because maybe it will improve the writing.

The first 1/2 was very poor, but the second 1/2 salvaged it just about. I almost felt optimistic when I reached the end, and witnessed the preview of ep 5.

I'm probably gonna get a lot of red arrows, but I don't care. Eun Sang is getting on my tits. Out of all the teens, she probably is the weakest

They've had 4 episodes to ease into it...

You know what. I'll give them a bit more rope (leeway) I just hope they don't use it to hang themselves. I probably won't review again until I have something a LOT more positive to say.
