rather strange premise but we are all watching and waiting for the development of the unusual plot, But halfway through this is actually the best short drama this year for me. I am giving it 9 at this point.

does anyone know what is the synopsis?

For anyone who knows Mandarin in the original version (spoken and written!) WHAT DO THEY CALL TWO WOMEN WHO ARE MOTHERS OF TWO MLs? Are they using jie/mei as customary designation for all women same age or are they using xuèyuán jiěmèi (血缘姐妹). Is there a distinction like that? In the first case the MLs are not related, in the second they are cousins.

I am relying on Eng subs, but if you know Mandarin - what do they really call their mothers? Were they sisters from the same parents (or at least one) thus connected by birth, or was it a customary Chinese tradition of referring to a woman similar in age as jie or mei? Just curious

If their mothers were birth sisters, how are they not cousins? In some cultures, this kind of cousin is actually called brother-by-aunt (if their fathers were birth brothers they would be called brothers-by-uncle) so yes, they are not only cousins but brothers, although I really don't think this is a bromance because of that.

He likes to play complex characters and to truly showcase his talent I would love for this story to give him that opportunity. But even if it is mildly put straightforward character, I am sure he will deliver quiet performance like that in The King and the Clown.
