well, behind every man there is a woman. In Blossom they are almost equal. I mean, I am looking for a precedent in c drama where it is a guy who is down and out and needs/asks a woman to be his supporter. Confucian tradition does not support such situations hence my original inquiry
I have no business reading this since I'm only on ep 6 but omg.... I have never been both dreading AND anticipating…
It was done really well considering how other shows (Love and Bid Farewell for example) creeped me out and left questioning the purpose of showing violence and particularly rape in such close up and detail with no redemption value. This drama did it in a meaningful way, that is focused on the effects and the best possible handling by the lovers who are facing the aftermath of a sexual assault. Please comment on your experience after you see it! I love hearing other people's opinions about what this episode evoked in them.
that ep 18 with the assault and his support and her bravery in self-reassurance. WOW! Bravo to the script writer and the FL for playing it so beautifully.
I love it so far and give it at ep5 the rating of 8.5/10 but... Yang Zi is known for loooong crying/emotional scenes and being though hell and back as a character, so I am getting my stomach meds ready for all the upsetting moments hoping that the worst is behind me.
thank you so much for posting this - for some reason I am unable to see this though. I mean I get a list of short vids of the actors but not the series. do you mind directing me to it? Thanks!
pathetic i say..... i dnt know why i said this... most of the time when i was watching , i felt deeply irritated…
i agree with the sentiments. Just like 1000 years later in England we had similar double standards for men and women with the latter being taking advantage of, treated like dry goods and disregarded, this era (even though Northern Song was known for incredible advancement in women's affluence) was what any feudal patriarchal society around the world would have been. I am comparing this to Jane Austen's stories of similar crapola that women had to go through to survive and have some sort of stability. Annoying as characters could be, this is pretty good portrayal of chauvinistic stereotypes and what choices it gave women at that time.
both are great Dramas but take a while to build the back story. With Minglan give it to episode 33 where Minglans…
on ep 20 and I like it. yes, a lot of talking but the whole story telling is so amazing. Reminds me of (pardon for possibly offending others) Jane Austen's social microscope. Thanks!
Quarterly rewatch check in!I already lost count of how many times I've rewatched this drama. Each rewatch is still…
given you are a big fan and repeat offender ha ha ha - how should this be watched? I prefer short series and could use advice. 3 ep day? one a day? any info helps
