does anybody remember from any other dramas the concept of demons/people/immortals being trapped in a painting? I vaguely recall from Love Between Fairy and Devil the scenes of two dudes, I think immortals, jumping into a painting to have drinks while floating down the river on a boat, but this Scroll of Mountain and Seas is different. Just curious if this idea was previously used.

Dou Ming I hear was really nasty as was Han's biological mother Song Han at one point seemed likeable but in the book (I gathered from reading a summary of the book) was really a psycho and serial killer, like his father Curious about Chen Jia transformation though... if you feel like it... I know about Ji Yong not being lovey dovey and Dou Shishu not a nice guy

I finished watching and would love to have a private conversation (please IM me) with SOMEONE WHO DID NOT LIKE THIS. Not to bash but honestly point out things that I did miss. I know I am not perfect, and this drama probably isn't either, so I want to learn from someone who noticed the shortcomings of this. I did not read the book (only English summary of the book), so I am also interested in learning how this differed from the book (particularly Song Han's character). All comments are welcome as I rated this 10/10 and this was the only Chinese 2024 release that I rated 10. Thanks!

go for it! it is one of the smartest things out there now. Really good production, story and the content (hidden for the most part) that stands out from dumb costume rom-coms
I'm on ep 11 and holy wow this is a hidden gem. There is some choppy as hell editing but I'm letting it slide…
but it looks like it has the same problem most cdramas: slows down halfway and has nowhere to go from the looks of it. But it is still an incredibly smart drama, including commentary on social bias and injustice in Chinese judicial system

I know! Love and Bid Farewell was actually painful to watch. I loved him in My Uncanny Destiny - he is a comedic actor as well and I heard a really good body building trainer. It is probably the contract... Li Jiu Lin is in the same club...😒
Revenge of a Reborn Princes was so sweet so I hope the General's Youngest Son will get a chance like Meet Me at the Blossom. He is a good actor and deserves ML
