KBS preview for Episode 15 (Bing translation)

Hyo-sim and Sun-soon are told at the police station that Hyo-jun may be arrested. In the process of helping Hyo-jun, Mi-rim's identity is revealed and she asks Hyo-shim if she can get the settlement money of fifty million won. Sook-hyang tries to connect Taemin and Su-kyung, and Su-kyung is also aggressive. Meanwhile, while looking for money everywhere, Hyo-shim receives a welcome phone call from Tae-ho.

Something tells me that today's cliffhanger (originally planned for a Sunday episode) will mean absolutely nothing. I'm really interested in Mi-rim's background/identity - 50 Million KRW = about $38,000 USA.

Is it better than the real has come? Because that one was one hell of a letdown after half of the show.
Difficult to say since we are only 25% through the episodes. There is no doubt in my mind that halfway through the TRHC, decisions were made to ignore/erase prior facts. However, one main difference is how the characters are connected or NOT connected.

TRHC: OTP is a woman from one family and a man from a different family. There are no connections -for example: work, step-family, cousins, university alumni, whatever) amongst the two families except for the OTP. Eventually, virtually every scene or action revolved around the main couple as most other family characters were relegated to the status of furniture.

LYOL: Lots of various connections right from the beginning and I think there will be more eventually, but right off the bat, various members of the Lee family have connections with the Kang family - work, fitness center, runaway (Kang) grandmother ends up hiding with the Lee family, etc. etc. So, the writer has already carefully established a foundation of multiple connections and we shall see how well she continues to weave the various stories/plots together.

Funny, i see it the exact other way around, because imo it would get unhealthy quickly if she were to date Taemin,…
“It is always fascinating to me how you see characters, no matter the show lol. I could not disagree more with basically everything. “ Well, @bloomingtide, the world would be boring if we all agreed on everything, no?

YMMV (“Your Mileage May Vary”). Lol, I had to look it up. Yes, I learned long ago that different viewers watch dramas for different reasons (a particular handsome face? The OTP? Character interaction? Mystery/fantasy/thriller? Character development?)

Re: the word “jealousy” as I used it w/r/t Tae Ho. My comment was partly based on an older article (that I finally located) and partly on the script. In the interview (or press release?), Ha Joon said "'Tae-ho' has been compared to 'Taemin' since he was a child. In Taeho's eyes, Taemin is the perfect person.” Tae Ho (Ep. 5 script): “even when I was little, my tutors always wanted to teach Tae Min, not me.” So, Jealousy? Resentment? Regardless, they are cousins and deep down they care about each other.

Honestly, although interested in the upcoming battle for control of Taesan Group, I don’t want to watch it for 35+ episodes. Nor do I want to watch anything related to a horribly crafted “triangle”. Currently, my interest is on mysterious Grandmama’s history, her marriage to an apparently wretched husband and her agenda. And Hyo Joon and Mi-ran – being 3rd couple has its benefits. 😊

It is still doing gangbusters in theaters throughout Asia. But that's a good sign that it will eventually end up on one or two streaming sites worldwide. Waiting patiently.

I thought he was manipulative when he guilted her over his accident and furthermore insisting on keeping her a trainer even tho he knew she didn't want to work with him. He was misogynistic and just plain nasty when he refused her help (as a trainer) - and frankly, blaming it all on missing grandmama doesn't work for me. Glad he apologized - but Tae Ho is childish and his jealousy of Tae Min is unwarranted. Since I really like Ha Soon - the actor - I blame it on the writers. 😊

Oooh we finally have a bts vid of the eps 8-11 I think? Both lead actors have such good chemistry with each other…
Thanks for the link.

As I watched, all THREE leads have good chemistry with each other 😄😄😄 Love Ha Joon's distinctive laughter in the background.

And senior actor Lee Kwang Ki demonstrating to the "kids" how to throw a real "pretend" punch was great - I look at his IG page every week to see if he has any new photos from location filming.

"He started being nice to her only after he started getting attracted to her. "

And he became attracted to her because he noticed that his cousin had a long term relationship with her. Tae Ho has always been jealous of TM and he decided to turn on the charm with her and manipulate her even tho she made it clear she didn't want him as a client. Yeah, yeah - she's coming around and frankly I'm not happy with how the writers did the turn-around - all it took was a drunken night of him confessing all of HIS problems.

She's falling into the same trap with Tae Ho as she is with her family - she wants to be supportive and nurturing, because he sure hasn't been the same for her. [Caveat: I started this drama ONLY because of Ha Joon, so still crossing my fingers that writers intend to flesh out more of Tae Ho's dark side].

I'm glad she doesn't like Tae Min. He thinks he wants the opposite of his manipulative, emotional mother but in fact, he does need a strong, supportive partner who will understand the burdens of chaebol land - but right now - after prison - he just wants a soft shoulder to lean on. I want this triangle over and done with by Ep. 20 but I guess that would be too unique for a weekender.

A ring? I thought it might be earrings because of the size. Not looking forward to those scenes.

For someone who has failed the exam four times he sure acts like a peacock. I really like how Hyo-shim is not…
" . . . the man is fine in formal wear."

Go Joo Won lost 20+ pounds (10 kg) because he was required to "look good in a suit." And you are correct - he looks VERY fine in a suit. I've noticed the costume director is definitely contrasting the more casual Tae Ho and the very formal/reserved Tae Min.

I already left a curse-filled rant about these two several weeks ago (after HS was beat up for Hyo Do's selfishness - and then the SOB (as in Son of a BiTCH) scribbled more hateful things on the outside wall. I doubt if I ever defend them - but when given glimmers of niceness, I'll mention it occasionally. I imagine next week they will be back to Negative Ten (-10). lol

My hate boner for Taehee is still growing too, bc now this braindead dumbass is standing crying at the funeral…
Ahhhh, and after today's show, I actually found some of their actions endearing (unselfish): Hyo Do (the condolence $$) and Tae Hee - especially after she ran into brother Tae Min's arms.

On my score, It may have moved the two of them (separately - do NOT like them as a romantic couple) from a Negative TEN (-10) to a Negative Eight (-8). 🤣🤣🤣.

Now it's up the writers - will Tae Hee be overwhelmed with guilt or will she revert back to nasty manipulator?

This is for Kdrama_fan .

Kdrama Fan - thank you for identifying the specific episode for in-soo's guest appearance (episode 3).

This was on my Watchlist because of Yoo In Soo. I knew that at the same time "Daily Dose," began filming, In-soo was heavily involved in last episodes of Alchemy of Souls 2, Good/Bad Mother and Uncanny Counters 2. Director for "All of Us are Dead" was director-nim for "Daily Sunshine" so knew early that In Soo was asked to take on a special 1 episode appearance. He did not disappoint.

But, this is not my genre. So, I'm not going to watch further episodes but also will not rate it on MDL because that would also be extremely unfair.

BUT. . . . . .Yoo In Soo - he is the prince of controlled chaos. He never disappoints.

Did anyone else notice that in the scene at the funeral - when all the Taesan executives walked in, Noh Young Gook (the original Kang Jin Bum/TM's father) was part of the group???

They obviously filmed a huge amount of location/non-studio scenes before Noh Young Gook passed on Sept. 18th. They re-shot all of Kang Jin Bum's scenes with the new actor (Kim Gyu Chul) in episodes 8 and 9, however this particular scene would have been nearly impossible to reshoot.

I don't believe they radically changed the script, but the more complete character of Kang Jin Bum (reverting to polishing shoes, suffering from PTSD) wasn't really apparent until Episode 8 - and after that, the script's focus on his alcoholism has been front and center. It helps explain why Tae Ho's father was grooming TM to eventually take over Taesan Group.

Tae Min is a complex character, described as "the third generation of chaebol who has both humanity and courtesy."…
When I wrote the coment above, I had not watched Ep. 9-11 - only read a few comments and a handful of clips on Twitter/X. Then last night, binged all 4 hours in the space of 2 hours w/heavy finger on FF button.

And then this morning I watched Episode 12 raw version back-to-back w/sub version.

So, yes - Ha Joon does charming/smooth as well as anyone. But in Ep. 12, the cold "pr*ck" Tae Ho raised his ugly head once again. It's one reason I like Ha Joon as an actor. He switches on/off so well. I'm glad you enjoyed Tae Ho at his finest charming self - it will probably be a few episodes before we see him again.

As I understand the early PR, Tae Ho goes head-to-head with Tae Min for control of Taesan Group, although one never knows with the way press releases are translated. My hunch is that eventually Grandmama will support TM, not TH, but I probably need to watch all of the last 4 episodes again - there was new info/hints/clues in the scenes I watched and I probably missed alot.

Ep 3
Thank you. Currently, I don't have time to watch the entire drama and In Soo is the only reason this is on my Watchlist. If I enjoy that ep, perhaps I'll eventually watch the remaining episodes. 😊

I like Tae min. There is more to the story about this brooding man who is carrying the weight of his family and…
Tae Min is a complex character, described as "the third generation of chaebol who has both humanity and courtesy." He has sacrificed a great deal for his father and for the company. but I don't want him with HyoShim - she isn't the right woman for him. I'm hoping the writer is able to write an interesting story between Tae Min and TV Lady because right now, "adorable drunk" Tae Ho is such a boring cliche.

And the ONLY reason I even began to watch this drama is because of Ha Joon - I'm also hoping we get to see more of his usual cold/calculating personality that we have witnessed in some of his prior dramas.

made the best decision to stop at ep 8 and wait for it to finish so that I can finish it binging
Episode 8 is the only episode I have watched (I came late to the party, but only interested because of Kim Kwon - who was incredible in Ep. 8) and I'm waiting for the finish as well.

I love plot twists, but I dislike the "fooled you all, didn't we" twist.
