Oh, For GAWD’s sake 😫😫😫 how many times do I need to ask this question? Why does Tae Min require redemption?…
My first was TRHC because of the "contract marriage" plot line. I swore - SWORE!! - that I would never watch another weekender except. . . . LYOL featured a favorite - Ha Jun. So, I started - and was frankly impressed by the director's decisions, the script, the mystery, the very, very professional/creative camera work. it's special for many reasons, but I'm simply not drawn to Hyo Shim or "golden retriever" (@bloomingtide's term) Tae Ho.
Sigh - 13 episodes to go and I'm not going to drop at this point. 😊
Oh, For GAWD’s sake 😫😫😫 how many times do I need to ask this question? Why does Tae Min require redemption?…
"All I want for him is to pick a team and stop having this "poor me" mentality."
Well, I think that all I really want at this point is for Tae Ho to stop his "poor me/REVENGE IS MY MANTRA" mentality.
Both men will get a happy ending. Tae ho married to Hyo Shim. And Tae Min? I don't know - I really wanted Su-kyung to be a positive force in this drama, but writer, even tho she presented Su-kyung as a woman in love, has decided for now that she is just a pawn in the chessboard.
As God is my witness, This Is My Second - AND LAST - Weekender. 😂
The more I see Yeom with TM, it feels like he wants to say something with a hidden language - things like a moment…
It has been very clear that Dragon Mom visited Kang Jin Bum while he was at the textile factory and seduced him. He has regretted that evening because it (apparently) forced him to marry her.
Was she already pregnant? After Episode 37, it is clear that Yeom believes that he is the father. Will that be the final resolution - I have a difficult time believing that is the 'end' for Tae min, but I've already reduced my MDL rating - not far to go before it is .05 🤣🤣🤣
Are they planning a redemption arc for TM?Imean business wise he was never really a bad guy (too emotional and…
Oh, For GAWD’s sake 😫😫😫 how many times do I need to ask this question?
Why does Tae Min require redemption? Please educate me.
Has he committed fraud? Embezzled funds? Broken ANY laws? Lied – to ANYONE? [honestly, I can’t remember a direct lie but I’ll stand corrected if someone brings me a definitive example of an outright lie.] Verbally abused an employee? Verbally abused anyone?? Physically abused anyone? Was HE part of the scheme to “imprison” grandmama? Was HE part of grandmama’s fake funeral? Has he emotionally traumatized anyone? (Answer: Yes, Choi Su-kyung, but never mind – she’s a bold, assertive woman in love with him and deserves to be hurt because something, something that I still haven’t figured out? Okay, redeem THAT!)
Or, redemption because he endured abuse from Tae Ho’s precious father. Verbal AND physical abuse. Redemption for THAT?
Or, is it because he has been a devoted son? Raised – LIKE the Man-Child, The Overly Protected SOFT Tae Ho – to believe and honor his parents? A man-child who jumps to conclusions and carries bitterness/resentment towards TM from their childhood. But, yeah – totes okay because something, something – TAE MIN (?!?!) )is the one requiring redemption??
OR, after he told TH that he loved Hyo Shim, did he go out and buy a bunch of clothes for her?? Oooops – no that was TH.
I don’t usually swear on MDL (so I will refrain – FOR NOW) but honestly – as far as I’m concerned, it is Man Child Tae ho who requires redemption – for jumping to conclusions about his cousin, who wants to crush the man who he was compared to as a child. Pathetic.
So to repeat MDL viewers, tell me – why does Tae Min require “redemption”??? are you watching the same drama?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The footnote says: "It is likely to be extended by one time to meet the end of Sunday."So, probable but not official…
Haha, I don't read Hangul but my browser auto translates. It's footnote [2] - revised early in January, I believe.
It's possible that rather than one newly scripted episode (or several stretched out scripts), they will do something like other dramas - add a "filler" episode that brings viewers up to date with the characters before they get to the ultimate conflict. That's what they did with "Alchemy of Souls" when they needed more time to complete the CGI.
Well, ugh - not quite. I'm done with granny - it's one thing to go after Dragon Mom, quite another to unleash…
You are correct. I am not up to re-watching all of the earlier episodes to confirm this, but I believe that the only people who "remember" or had nightmares about the Daegwallyeong Pass accident are grandmother and the Chairman. So, when the drama began - it was implied that they were both at the scene of the accident.
Plus, she was the one who ordered Director Park to cover up what happened at the accident - removing the car and dash cam evidence from the police. Since the drama continues to mention Director Park, I don't think the accident has been forgotten, but the original story may have changed - especially since the original Chairman actor died and if they had previously filmed scenes with him, they cannot use them.
They seem to have white-washed Grandfather's character as well. According to the first episodes, granny stood by while he hit HER son with a golf club if Tae Min didn't get good grades. And TH's father abused Tae Min - both verbally and physically. But now she says that both of her sons were "good" and her husband (the one with a concubine!) was merely "scarier than a roaring tiger".
So, I no longer rely on the earliest episodes for answers to what may finally be revealed.
was expected. They usually want to finish the drama on a sunday.
Unless you have seen something very recent, they are filming 2-3 weeks ahead. Some of the scenes this weekend (for instance, Tae Min meet up with Tae Hee) were filmed the first week of January (based on Ko Joo Won ig photos).
The big jumps in ratings began after the holidays when the brother/cousins began their battle - that's what each cliffhanger has focused on. But, I'll agree that it wouldn't matter if viewers didn't like the main couple.
Looking back, the 1st half focused on building the Tae Ho/Hyo Shim couple and Hyo Shim gaining independence. The 2nd half is focusing on the other conflicts that were on the back-burner: Grandmother, Dragon Mom's mis-deeds and, sooner or later (I guess later), the truth about Daegwallyeong Pass.
This is one of the good examples of age gaps, hani is 40 irl and jongwon is 29, tho in the drama she’s said…
Unless something changed in this weekend's episodes (I haven't watched them yet), Yeo Hwa previously said that she was 20 years old when she rescued Yeon seon - and that occurred 12 years ago. She was "married" 15 years ago - at the same time her husband mysteriously died, her brother disappeared and Su Ho's family was killed.
Oh, and they have now extended the time line. Thus, the characters and stories that began "in the summer" and…
Yesterday, once I realized it was a set-up , I essentially threw in the towel. Because although the corporate show-down has always been in predicted, it has now become a 'revenge plot and not a real battle. Very disappointed. And here - just a few weeks ago - I was complimenting the writer on weaving together various characters and stories.
I'll continue to watch but only because we're close to the end. I'm lowering my ratings nd I don't expect anything will happen for me to raise it.
Well, ugh - not quite. I'm done with granny - it's one thing to go after Dragon Mom, quite another to unleash…
Not that I want to get into an argument, but she sprang into action at the mausoleum when the Director told her that Tae Min was moving forward on the succession plan. And it would make no sense for her to talk about protecting "the children" except her grandchildren - because those are the only "children" (plural) that Madame Seo and the Director would understand. There is absolutely no reason for her to attack Dragon Mom in order to protect TH/HS - it doesn't even make sense.
Plus, TH goading and taunting Tae Min makes no sense at all either if that is part of her grand plan to take down Dragon Mom.
Spoiler: TM gets the wake-up call today and he understands how rotten his mother is and tomorrow it looks like he begins to look into things internally. I'm glad he knows granny is alive and I hope he starts his own search and gets to her before his mother. Because. . . .
Granny thinks she is smart, but she has now put the Villa residents in danger because Dragon Mom is going to try and find her and she is registered with the "old folks" support line at the police station. As I said, hopefully TM gets to her first but then. . . . that would subtract at least 2 episode cliffhangers, I guess. 😂😂😂
ooookay haven't watched yet but alone from the preview it is clear that it all has been a ruse to lure the demon…
Oh, and they have now extended the time line. Thus, the characters and stories that began "in the summer" and is now filming in the winter has magically become "almost one year".
ooookay haven't watched yet but alone from the preview it is clear that it all has been a ruse to lure the demon…
Well, ugh - not quite. I'm done with granny - it's one thing to go after Dragon Mom, quite another to unleash TH on TaeMin - and the SOB is so smug about grandmother favoring him over TM. I realized it was a trap yesterday when I re-watched the "reunion" and wondered: whatever happened to Granny promising to go to Tae Min and spill everything if Mom went after Tae Ho. How is this "protecting" the children.
I have feared we might eventually end up with a scene of Tae Min standing on the roof contemplating suicide - and Hyo Shim riding to the rescue. Ugh - I can't bear the thought. 😟
All in all, it was a stupid episode except for Tae Min finally discovering how awful his mother is because of how she has treated both Tae Hee and granny.
KBS livestream is still not working (still same error msg) hence so do all the other streaming sites neither,…
I don't know if this will help you or not (and unless I am wide awake at 3:00 am my time I don't intend to check), but this afternoon, I had the same problem when I attempted to watch something with my vpn. I eventually re-booted, connected my vpn and am now able to watch KBS2 (and others) thru the VPN (South Korea). Give it a try.

My God - I can't lower my rating much lower!

Meanwhile, here's some Ha Jun beefcake: https://www.instagram.com/p/C2gqLEyPAz7/?img_index=1
And a small - very small - hint of Ko Joo Won scenes outside his home (not scenes with Hyo Shim). https://www.instagram.com/p/C2i1cUoPgAI/?img_index=1
Read that this might be on Amazon Prime.
