Itโs entertaining (the music is distracting) but honestly for a show that pretends to be so realistic the logic…
Have you worked in M&A?? I have. And yes, 4 team members (on either side) is rather unrealistic, but this is fiction, so the real issue is. . . .is it semi-believable?? My answer??? Yes - it's semi-believable. Not "real life" but the denouement (final climax) is realistic - and heart-warming with the amazing 87 year old actress Kim Young Ok. I'm very forgivig so long as writer-nim doesn't LIE to the viewer.
I finally completed the 1st two episodes last night - and it's time to pull out my kdrama notebook which has been gathering dust for the last 8 months, re-watch before next episodes and note all of the various clues/mysteries provided.
Did writer-nim write a tightly written script that will make sense in the end??? Or, did he toss around lies (especially wondering about Jun Ho's wife - is she alive or not???).
Love this show thus far and hoping writer and director have prepared the ultimate in scripts/direction that comes together in the last episodes (Every WTF moment is an automatic demerit of .5 โญin my rating).
โItโs them? Then those vibes I got mustโve been LOVEโI do like that she crushed on him when she first…
My reaction as well - in fact, it's my only slight complaint about the drama thus far - but he does remember her fondly from the past. And at least it's not some big reveal near the end of the drama (I hate those even more).
actually, I fell asleep in the middle of watching Ep. last night and need to go back and re-watch because other parts of end didn't make sense to me.
This drama was on my watchlist for one reason only: Jin Ko Joo (strong and adorable in "From Now Showtime"). My life is currently crazy-crazy right now, but last night (Friday USA), I was finally able to watch Ep. 1 and I'm hooked.
This drama checks all my boxes - mystery, family, not gory (thus far), lots of fun/amusing scenes, a very SMART cutie patootie FL, mysterious silent-type ML, and Jeon Bae Soo NEVER disappoints.
Can't wait to squeeze in the next episodes (I read spoilers) and catch up in time to watch the final episodes. The fact that it is only 12 episodes is a Very Good Sign. ๐
The drama is going really well. I'm currently watching episode 5, but they couldโve cast a better-looking male…
Hmmmm. interesting. I know nothing about the actor, but his character is my favorite (only thru Ep. 7 thus far). Oh well, if we all saw the world in the same way, it would be a Very. Boring World.
But still the rating was forcefully dropped by people who donโt understand what fiction is
"I was there and proud to have enjoyed it while it was airing. This is the only show I rewatched every week while it was still ongoing."
This was me 3 years ago with Alchemy of Souls. Notepads full of notes/quotes, trying to figure out the mysteries - and then those effin' sisters f*cked up royally with Season 2. Oh well, as I have learned, such is the stuff of k-dramas. ๐๐๐๐
yes this amazing drama broke the records in the most high number of comments!!๐ฅ๐ฅ
It is a good thing (!) that you clarified your comment but I hope you understand that uber-fans of other dramas will call you out if your post is not very factually precise. ๐
If you are looking for fluff or unserious moments with the MC, just try to hold on for a little bit more may be?…
What can I say, lol?? I was semi-hooked - to the point that I was staying up late at night to watch back-to-back episodes from 2-5. . . and then I saw the preview for Ep. 6 and it was "Oh No - NOT the company-retreat trope. Please no. " Nevertheless, I sped through quite a bit of Ep. 6, the scene of her at the bottom of the cliff was just too reminiscent of King Something (which I dropped big time at ep 6) and iirc I got thru Ep. 7 and the outcome (identity of kidnapper) is rather obvious. And I still don't like CSB (thanks for the acronym), but I really, REALLY like the male lead and the story even though much is pre-ordained. So, I'm pretty sure I will finish it but w/heavy finger on the FF button. And trust me, I probably would not stick w/it if not for your original positive and thoughtful reply. ๐ฅฐ
Now that MBC/Kocowa did the right thing and made UNDERCOVER HIGH SCHOOL available to Viki US, UNDERCOVER is now…
Same here - I just recently dropped Kokowa (because gave up on the week-end soaps) but want to watch for Jin Ki Joo. Crossing fingers that it will be likeable.
so it's gonna be on kocowa and not Viki, disapointed ๐
Well, D*mn - I recently discontinued my Kokowa subscription because I no longer enjoyed the SBS weekend dramas. Maybe a few months from now because I ๐ Kin Ji Koo

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Last night, I finally completed Ep. 2 and I'm hooked on the STORY. Primarily because of the ML and his background/position in society/politics. I have never been a fan of Chai Soo Bin and this drama hasn't changed my opinion - but I don't DIS-like her - but the story doesn't help endear me to her to the character she portrays. Thanks to you, I will stick with it and looking forward to the rom-com to come in Ep. 6 - emphasis (from me) on the COMEDY because the "romance" is a given. And I love parents who are rotten to the core.
So, perhaps not the roller coaster of QoT, but hopefully entertaining and enough twisty plot to keep my engaged. Again, thanks for your reply. ๐
Finally found time to start this and after just 1/2 hour this is giving me "Queen of Tears" vibes - married couple, unhappy, beautiful cinematography, lots of hints of mysterious undercurrents. QoT was a roller-coaster ride but lots of amusing scenes to balance with the tension. So far, there hasn't been a smile-worthy scene. If this is 100% thriller then I might struggle to find the time to stay with it.
SML didn't end up with SFL, it's more open ending for them, we don't know if they will be together
I've been too busy to watch (including a 2 week trip to Korea), but I will only watch (FF) this if Kang Hoon and Joe Hye Joo have some interesting/memorable scenes together. By "interesting", I mean good dialogue, some chemistry, etc.
I'll skip everything with Shin Hye Sun, but would enjoy a few scenes with my two favorites - if they even exist.
