The novel is excellent, and the drama follows it quite well but has also a lot of extra stuff. I feel they complement each other. After reading the novel I understood many scenes in the drama better.
I just re-watched and this is my favorite older woman - younger man -drama. I like (almost) all characters, it's serious but has funny stuff too and the pacing is good, no subplot is too draggy. Give it a try!
Which part of the conversation exactly? Can you give me a timecode?
In that one he literally says: "Shan Shan said to me break up", so I think both translations could be considered correct. Shan Shan told him she wants to break up with him, so she wants to break up with him and she also broke up with :) But maybe the Netflix one is a bit more correct also with this one, as buy telling Feng Teng she wants to break up she has broken up with him.

I watched the scene in both Netflix and YouTube, and I assume you mean the part that Feng Teng says about Li Shu? In that part Netflix translation is correct, Feng Teng says if Li Shu wasn't like a little sister to him, he would have rejected her just like any other girl and been on Zheng Qi's side. The YouTube translation is weird but "reject" and "go chase" sound a bit similar in Chinese. Is there some other sentence you are also wondering about?
Is this a school/teenage drama or also fit for more adult taste? The high ratings make me interested, but I have found myself bored with school dramas and random teenage problems too many times.
sorry for replying to an older comment but i was also wondering:D maybe he pulled a few all-nighters again at…
I'm from Finland, here the police will help you get the temporary one at the airport if necessary. But you can also go to a local police station and pay extra for express to get your official, long time passport in 0-1 days. This is for residents, of course, foreigners probably need to consult their embassy.

Does it take more than a month in Korea? Where I live you can get a temporary passport instantly at the airport, or a proper one in 1-2 days. Even if you are not in hurry and are willing to wait it's going to take less than two weeks max.

Ah, I remembered Chong was Dong, this makes much more sense :D Thanks! I wonder if the reason they hinted for some stuff like their mothers but didn't explain well, was because there will be the other dramas about the same universe and they will tell more about these things in them.
So how exactly did their family tree go? More details in the comment.
So if I understood correctly, Chang Heng's and his brother's father was called Dong. Dong was the one who dumped Yannü and then Yannü started the Moon Tribe. Chang Heng kept talking about how his brother hates their mother so that would fit. But Yannü was also the ML's ancestor, and I recall them saying Chang Heng was a baby or something when there was the war after which the ML was captured. So how could Chang Heng's mother be the ML's ancestor? And why was this not explained better in the drama?
I had high expectations going into this but found it utterly dull and tropey - and its bollocks that those tropes…
I agree that the tropes were there full force, but I felt that they were doubled to make fun of the tropes, and that's what made it so funny :) Only in the last eps the craziness was sadly lacking.
