Why has it taken me so long to get around to watching this? It's brilliant! Kinda wish I was feeling sad because I just know this would make me cheer up.
the gay kid and his crush are kinda whatever, but there's too much to unpack with the girl, it's heart touching…
I was so wrapped up in the two guys' story (and wondering when something would actually happen) I missed that entirely when I watched it. Now I'm thinking of it in a whole new light. It's very much about her ... she's just not actually in it much. Many thanks for opening my eyes,.
Do I wish to see Song Joong Ki in a noir movie? Of course I do! I wish to see him in absolutely anything I can. It can never be enough to only see him in my dreams!
Watched this immediately after season 1 and still loving it. It possibly slows down a tiny bit, becoming a little more actual plot than plot avoidance, but still really funny much of the time. So, yeah, I'll take a season 3 please ... just as soon as you're ready.
Loved this. It's short enough for the plot premise to not be stretched too thin, and very funny. Lead character's acting is OTT most of the time, but that's deliberate and where most of the humour comes from.
I think this drama has my favorite opening intro ever. I watch it every episode without skipping past it. It brings…
Totally agree. I nearly always skip intros after watching the first one, but with this show the thought never even occurs. It may have something to do with it making me wish I was very, VERY much younger, and living in a different country!
Sorry. Don't believe it. His agent must have lied about his age so he could play a thirty-year-old virgin. He can't be more than early twenties. (Also, I know it's only acting, but find it hard to believe he'd make it to thirty without being snapped up!)
Brilliant. Very funny, very well acted, very much have a new crush! Watched back-to-back ... couldn't stop after the first one. Wish there had been more episodes.
I'm about halfway through. The plot devices are unrealistic. The guitar playing isn't that good. The singing is no better. I'm ABSOLUTELY loving it, and can't wait until tomorrow when I'll have time to binge watch the rest!
EDIT: OK, finished. My only regret is that Mil didn't get punched.
Ummm he is 32 and this is correct. 2022 - 1990 = 32 lol what's wrong?
I meant to imply that he looks much younger. I'd have guessed 22 not 32. This seems to be a common occurrence with many of the Korean actors I look up, so I was wondering if there's something special in Korean water that slows down aging, or a similar explanation. ... Or maybe it's simply because I'm really (really!) old now, and everyone looks young to me!
I'm relatively new to Kdramas, and until reading this thread didn't realise it's the norm for there not to be a second season. Personally, I think that's a usually wise decision artistically, and it's great that corporate greed has been kept at bay until now. I would love, love, love there to be a second season of 'Vincenzo' ... except that I'm fairy sure I'd be disappointed. The story was complete, which I think is usually the case. One of the most annoying things about American shows is they deliberately end on cliff-hangers, or with ongoing plot lines, then the second (or third, or fourth) season gets cancelled because it has stopped drawing in the audience they expected so it often doesn't get properly wrapped up. Very frustrating! There's an old theatrical saying (Brtish? American?) ... 'Always leave them wanting more'. And it works! Nearly all of my truly memorable dramas have been wrapped up in one season, and whilst I yearned for more at the time if I'd got it, that would likely have lessened my enjoyment, not increased it.
Only exception I'd make for the Kdramas I have seen so far is 'Arthdal Chronicles'. That feels like though it works stand alone, a second season should follow naturally. And I'm really, REALLY looking forward to it. :-)
When rating a drama on MDL you give it out of 10, not out of 5. 10 being the best on MDL and 1 being the worst.…
I know the ratings are out of 10. That's WHY I used 5 as an example. If I rate five dramas, give one of them 1/10, 3 of them 3/10, and one 5/10, then I'm saying that the one I've given 5 to is the best of the five. The fact I've only given it 5/10 suggests I didn't think it was very good. It is, though, still the best I've seen. So .... "the best" does not always equal "good". Hence my comment. Are you saying that if I've not rated anything 9, there can't be a 'best' one I've seen in 2021? I know I've seen shows I liked a lot. That wasn't the point of my comment.
Why the stipulation of a 9* personal rating? I thought this was a vote for "the best". If I'd given everything but one drama two or three stars, but that one I'd given five, that would mean I thought that "the best". Being "the best" doesn't automatically mean it's good. [Not saying any of these aren't, just that it doesn't have to follow.]
On the plus side, very many thanks for such an informative, well laid out, and useful article. On the negative, how come every time I put a tick against one watched movie I also end up adding two or three new ones to my list? Now I've got four more - the Rurouni Kenshin series - and that's just from my first quick read through! :-)
