Obviously there's not much great drama this year. I find myself voting a lot for KMHM but I don't really enjoy it that much, but Ji Sung was fabulous. I hope he get award for his performance.
Those that like this drama obviously have not watch any crime/detective series like CSI/Law & Order/Sherlock. I know this series is heavy on the psychological aspect, but there were so many WTF moments. Are there really soooo much psychopath, seems like there is even a school for that (Lee Jun Ho being Professor X and recruiting all the children and nurture them into psychopaths...does this even make sense?). And so many times Lee Hyun shared dinner with his serial killer brother and his mentor who also happened to kill their father. They even have intellectual discussion together and solve crime together. Everyone love the bromance here, but this is a bromance between a genius Lee Hyun with his serial killer brother(also a genius), and also another senior serial killer aka fathers murderer (also a genius!). Wow, this is twisted beyond twisted. I would rather believe there is an alien from another star that could fall deeply in love rather than this.
Wow, the plot is similar to Secret Love (Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum) and I am tempted to watch this because Secret Love was my first melodrama, it was heavy but I love it!
these two leads Jang Kyuk and Kim Mi Yeong were in 2002 movie called "successful story of a bright girl............
I tend to have a liking for weird and eccentric character. I see that we have watched many similar drama. I also love Jang Guen Suk's character in You're Beautiful.
I loved Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum in KMHM. Is Secret just as good?
But it's more to melodrama, lots of crying and heartache. Both Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum's performance were so great that I could actually feel their pain and struggle. KMHM is more towards rom-com. Even though there is lot of psychological struggle in KMHM but it's consider a light if compare to Secret. So it's 2 very different genre.
I hope he will get to act in another drama soon. He has been choosing poor drama to work on. He is a great actor but his previous acting projects just sucks and receiving poor feedback. I don't know what happened to him that he is not doing well in Korea (didnt follow much on the news) but he doing superbly well in Japan. I hope could get a comeback drama.
Probably this drama can also have an alternate title, Obsession. Min Hyuk was obsessed with seeking revenge and tormenting Yoo Jung earlier on, and later half of the drama he was just obsessed with her, all the stalking and controlling. But I LOVE IT. I just love the hardcore-ness and how dark this drama was.
Bae Soo-bin portrayed on of the most complex bad guys I've seen in kdramas, he was amazing. It's also worth watching…
I love this drama for the complexity. The plot intrigued me to watch this drama. How can so much hatred can dissipate into love? Ji Sung made it happen and I was convinced. This is a story of how 2 very emotionally damaged characters intertwined together, and somehow they understand each other suffering. This not the typical rom-com and it took Yoo Jung a long while to finally accept Min Hyuk, almost towards the end.
But I find that there is too much stalking and Min Hyuk's obsession was scary. This drama could be named as Obsession, instead of Secret.

Actually I preferred Secret more than KMHM. Character development is superb here. While in KMHM, it only depends on Ji Sung's acting but in Secret, everyone performance is superb.
The only thing that I liked about this drama is the male lead (first time seeing Ji Sung), the OST and OTP chemistry (I was rooting for Shin Segi!!). I don't really like Hwang Jung Eum here, yes, I was totally annoyed with her screaming. But their interaction and chemistry were superb, favourite part was their bickering turn into rapping. I couldn't get enough of them, which brought me to Secret Love, and it was an even better written drama than KMHM.
