I think they using the cliche trope where the FL is extremely naive and clueless, and has no idea how to navigate…
If so horrible because even still we can take ashes of love, love never fails, immortal samsara and all these three dramas plus more conveyed better storyline. Especially if this is the route the writers were taking.

Title Bai Yao Pu
it is for all sure Ai Mi is Tao Tao. Gao literally wished her happy bday on Weibo and reminded her to lose weight. Neitzens have already put two and two together. she is the FL. Now people are just waiting on the ML. I’m excited for Ai Mi. Hopefully the Ml can act whoever he is and have good chemistry.

Title Key to the Phoenix Heart Spoiler
Fl isn't his first wife???? And he already has a kid with his first wife....then why did reacted like he saw her…
it explains it perfectly. First wife is only in name and to keep peace. he never met her until he returned back from war. The other wife isn’t truly his wife either. he only took her in and her son because she was the wife of one of his best solders who died on the field. In short the drama explained that both of those marriages aren’t legal nor registered. Only the one with FL. Just keep watching and you’ll see it explained more.

Watching the blindfold scene and hug over and over! That was so spontaneous!
yes it was. I’m so happy today was good. netizens are loving this drama scene it trended a lot on Weibo. I really liked their pairing and truthfully always wanted to see Ai Mi pair with Neo, and a few others she’s worked with. like Li HongYi.

just please stop saying age gap😡🤬. in ancient its usual thing not ordinary. so what she is young i think…
this is kinda racist to tell Asians to stop. I’m Asian and found offensive to this. We don’t conformed to your rules and laws. no one is forcing you to watch 10/28 episodes you claim is immortalized and cruel just drop the drama. simple enough.

Can anyone tell me who is Mulian Ying ? I saw in the preview of next episodes.
no one knows. this isn’t a novel base drama but original script. so not many know or nobody knows. my guess judging off the trailer he must’ve been a emperor, prince, nobel perhaps general. or someone who’s a merchant. very cunning and evil. or opposite. especially since Xiao Wu Yi said his name in a growl hiss of anger. we will have to wait until tonight to know.

this is just what the writers wanted. this is an original script so if they wanted a character who is 17 genius…
the role for the lead character was older. that’s the point many don’t understand this script called for a 17 year old character and a guy who was older. Not saying he’s 30 something character but he’s clearly is supposed to be more mature as that’s what his character is described. So many are wanting a younger actor to play a mature older character is the issue why netizens are speaking out. it’s harmful for the actual character that’s inspiring the roles. The drama isn’t real life base but fictional and the writers / directors all wanted 16 year and someone in their late 20s characters. That’s the point I’m making alongside netizens the time to cast actual actors / actresses in base role characters is now. When POB came out everyone loved it but it was also incorrectly protrayl. My song bird was not a young girl who was 16-17. She’s in her 30s. Another one rebel princess, etc. Netizens just feels like with this drama it pushes directors/ writers to give new way to up and coming actors and actresses. Last night the hash tag trend on Weibo was 85-90 flowers both male and female should no longer play a role that isn’t their actual age. Because they cannot give the role life. They cannot convey truly what netizens is seeing in the performances between Neo and Ai Mi. Also there is no novel. Which is what I mentioned earlier this is an original script. One that called for someone who can actually play that role. This is also fictional to putting so much emphasis on a fictional role and drama is pointless. Women suffer yes in real life so does men. This drama isn’t about suffering nor exploiting. It’s a simple drama that’s really making waves in all the right places. I guess because im Japanese and from Japan we view things differently than intl fans who think this is weird. Glad you find the drama interesting but going forward it might be better just for you to enjoy it wholeheartedly to not think of it as being weird or exploitation.

I'm a bit confused cause there is no reason why the FL should be young from a plot perspective (talking character…
this is just what the writers wanted. this is an original script so if they wanted a character who is 17 genius so be it. if they wanted an actual 17 year to play the role so be it. the drama is really amazing and has been doing incredibly well in mainland China. where it actually counts. there’s no black lash or boycotting like intl fans are doing, (not you) but others. there’s also the rapid success this drama has been gaining with gao ming telling Ai Mi happy birthday and remember to lose weight ( hinting at her soon to be announced fl lead role in his drama). Neo is also getting tons of praises. Netizens are grateful this drama allowed a younger actress to play the role of a young character. They’re getting sick of 20 something to 30 and 50 year olds playing 16-17 years old. It doesn’t sit well with a lot of them and it doesn’t allow the new generation come forth. This is a good ideal for future dramas. hope this helps with why this drama is doing amazing. not just the writing, directing, OSTs and actors. it also speaks to the netizens who relate to it.

Calling the writers hacks a little much. Don't be a writer who is quick to trash others just because you didn't…
you comment is stupid and doesn’t pretained to the actual fact this drama does suck in writing/ editing. Being a writer you will face all types of crap. I have with the novels I have written. which thankfully have been way better than this 💩. You can have your opinions elsewhere. I said what I said. they’re hacks with no talent. simple enough. Another thing, Trust me the only nerve hit is this wisdom toothache.

I am all for it. I am so tired of seeing 28- 30+ actresses playing the 16 years old girl.
same. it becomes annoying with the usual hairstyle buns and accessories to give off “sweet, young and innocence playfulness.” I’m glad the directors and writers went for what the script called for. I heard prisoner beauty was supposedly have the fl younger in the novel but they casted someone in mid 30s. still not bad as my song bird did an amazing job. but I would’ve liked to seen someone else.

Episode 4 is when I got hooked. It was amazing to see her father's setup come to fruition
omg yes he truly had me fooled. I was so hoping for once my husband Peter would do a humored funny role again. he was good in his guest role in prisoner of Beauty. but omg he pulled the covers back from my eyes with his stunts.
