The point you are missing is that her decision was so reckless without any thought for the consequences . She knows ZB is dangerous and she has some idea how much the ML suffered because of ZB. She also know he has mental issues from all that happened in the past - he takes medication and goes to therapy. She is also well aware that he is barely surviving and living a low key life because of ZB. In spite of all this she is putting herself right under ZB’s radar. It may be her legitimate job but she could have given it some thought before jumping into the fire
