He definitely loves her - but I am questioning her love for him. She treats him worse than trash. Watching ep 22. What was all that in the beginning?

This is exactly my point. She treats him really awfully just because she is dissatisfied by the relationship and because he is not doing what she wants. I am starting to question her love for him and don’t even get me started about her and Cen Ye .

Ep 21: Chen Yi’s conversation with Zhang Bin shows how precarious CY’s position is. Zhang Bin is not going to spare him of Chen Yi tries to leave. He knows too much. And he is an informant - this is one of the reasons he was living the way he was. Miao Jing clearly does not understand what she has stirred . ZB warned him multiple times in that conversation indirectly that he would kill him and possibly her if he took one wrong step.
This is the reason Chen Yi and the cops (Zhou) have decided to bring ZB down for good. Has Chen Yi really gained the trust of ZB? He is really walking a tight rope .

Exactly! He has been living a dangerous life - being an informant deep inside enemy territory is not easy. He was leading a quiet low profile life. Do you think ZB has not been watching him? Does he really not know who Miao Jing is? I don’t buy that for a second .

Agreed! The trauma needs to come out into the open. But I do think - him sending her away in the past was the right call. Right now though - he is trying to clean up after her and keep her out of danger- it has become his full time job.

He pretty much did everything for MJ. Literally raised her and that whole life of crime was majorly to support her . Everything changed after that fire. Yes she is mad at him for abandoning her but let’s be honest. Did Chen Yi know any better? Why does he need to carry all of this burden. If she came back to get him out then she needs to do it sincerely- not like this. She is blowing hot and cold towards him and putting herself in danger . He will never let her do that . She is pushing down that dark path again after he got out. He knows more than anyone who ZB is and what he can do. I really cannot see MJ’s point of view here. To me she is not trying to get him out - she is pushing him back in with her own hands.

So I am watching ep 21 on Viki . Cen Ye is seriously talking to MJ about her biting Chen Yi’s lips? How cringy was that - totally inappropriate.

The way I look at it everything she is doing - being reckless with the investigation and hanging out with the boss ex, teasing him and blowing hot and cold - are all driving him over the edge. Is she really mature and had character growth? I don’t think so. She has had an education that is all. She just came back out of the blue and wants him back- or does she? Can he leave that place that easily? Can she really bring ZB down and keep him safe? I don’t understand what exactly she is trying to accomplish by behaving this way. I don’t think this has to do with his stubbornness. But it has everything to do with MJ badgering him and driving him down the same dark path.

We don’t know yet but it has definitely damaged Chen Yi really badly. He has severe trauma and PTSD from that. That is why I am saying that what the FL is doing may drive him off the edge . He is on meds and he is on therapy- that says a lot. A mentally ill person cannot be expected to be emotionally availabe . One thing is clear- he became a police informant and went deep into that gang world.

Like I said - he is a traumatized person . It will take a lot of time for him to open up . And her erratic behavior is not at all helping. I don’t think leaving is the solution .
