I actually disliked Chu Zhao more than He Rufei . Because Chu Zhao had a very twisted mind and all these strategies that could cause way more harm . He Ru Fei was an idiot with an inferiority complex but CZ was actually was a self serving person who did not think about anybody else but himself - his ambition, his place in society and his possessions and he had a conniving brain. That is what makes him way more dangerous and hateful

Whatever- it was a bad decision . The FL was blindsided by Chu Zhao who always had his own selfish agenda from the beginning to end . I don’t care for the justifications here.

I thought about why CZ/ the emperor would send He Yan to Rundu where nothing was happening . It was because this self righteous, selfish bastard wanted to protect ‘his woman’ . He was ok if the ML died in the battle - in fact it would have been the ideal outcome - for him. That is why CZ deserved a more severe punishment. I was so disappointed with the final episodes. CZ was in no way a benign nice person as some viewers like to think. He was a selfish and entitled power grubber just like his teacher was.

Actually there was no rhyme or reason for that . Before that it looked like he really respected the ML and discussed everything with him. Why did Chu Zhao come into the picture all of a sudden ? The emperor hung to his advise almost like he was high on something . Yep bipolar is right
