I tried to watch this but changing both the leads was too much for me. Kind of sad it had to go this way. I like the actress they got to replace her but they should have gone with a completely new couple in a new situation and changed the entire cast.

To me this is easily the best comedy currently airing. I know it's not just a comedy but really... no show is just a comedy these days.

I'd probably put it as the best currently airing show as well... but I haven't given Korean serious dramas a chance in a while.

All I know is I prefer this to Legal High and Spring Turns to Spring has finally gotten on my nerves (I just want it to end).

What did I watch. I feel this was weird and ridiculous. I'm also not a fan of how they treated HIV/AIDS the little they talked about it.

I couldn't watch the dozens of Thai versions of "future Queen/current Queen falls in love with bodyguard instead of her arranged marriage" so I'm basically pretending this drama doesn't exist because it's probably going to be like those shows.

It's nice and pretty light.

It seems like an overplayed formula. I know it has already started airing but I hope it eventually gets subtitled.

I came back to this, couldn't find a Chinese period drama to my liking.

For me this was happy, light and innocent. The obvious comparison here is Nobunaga Concerto which was more serious and emotional in my opinion. I preferred Nobunaga Concerto personally but this wasn't too bad and I'm sure it was a hit for its target audience.

What were the names of the evil sect people at the end? Were they even in the original? Been so long I forgot.

They sent out an email. They said nothing about the licensing rights they have. I'm guessing AT&T is going to hold on to them indefinitely as if they might have some value in the future and then never get around to subbing them. We don't have the inside scoop on their contracts for licensing rights. We do know some shows were exclusive to DramaFever (because they only appeared on there), others were not.

I'm not quite as worried about the Korean shows. There seems to be an army of subbers who gets through them at a reasonable pace. What this really hurts is Chinese dramas and Japanese dramas. China has so many dramas coming out and now only Viki will bid for them. DramaFever had literally just put up a Japanese drama which might have signaled more to come... well now that's not happening. The only real competition there is Netflix occasionally uploads Japanese dramas... any hope of a 'rebirth' in acquiring Japanese titles has been wiped out for now. I guess Korean movies to a lesser extent also get hurt. I think DramaFever was slightly better about getting movies than Viki which seems to skew much more strongly to TV shows.

Well I just got a Paypal notification saying they cancelled my subscription.

I feel bad for the DramaFever team. 20% cut in workforce is brutal and crazy. They were either gagged or caught offguard with the shutdown.

Such an AT&T move. These telecommunication companies need to be treated like utilities by the government. They've shown they don't play nice. They've shown they'll take government subsidies for infrastructure and then refuse to deliver the infrastructure.

This is just another example of their shady business practices. Taking money from people days before a shutdown which they had planned. They KNEW they were going to do this. They still took people's money.

I was KG on there which is just my initials. Maybe I'll check out the site tonight and see where they are.

Nah. I pay both Viki and Dramafever but if the illegal site has it ... well they have it and that's where I will watch it.

Are they active? I haven't heard noticed any updates after mentioning the admin(?) was going to be living in China?

I put in a bunch of money to get Oh My General and that got picked up by Viki. I didn't bother with refund and just picked a fantasy/historical and told them I wasn't in a rush.

I think I'm not about to trust the Communist Party's explanations of things. Tax evasion is the favorite charge of undemocratic regimes of the past few decades.

Well I submitted a request to Viki. I enjoyed Oh My General and kind of want to see all the side-stories to it. I kind of wish CDramaBase wasn't inactive and I could ask them how much it would cost to sub this. I don't mind spending a few hundred (100-200) to get it done but I don't know any reliable service.

How is Sandra Ma in this? Is he character in love with the lead through the whole show and always getting herself in trouble?

Or is she valuable in her own right?

I'm struggling with the poor pacing in a lot of these Chinese fantasy/period/historical dramas.

I guess it's because there's a second season but I lost a lot of interest around episode ~35 and then they rushed to a partial ending at 40. We'll see if Season 2 gets licensed and how it works out.

Yeah. It's brutally bad. I'm skipping huge parts. The less foreign places and foreigners in Chinese dramas the better. The writers don't know how to write. The actors they can get are probably off the street friend of a friend and not professional actors... it's just awful from top to bottom. This Age of Legends has one slight improvement - at least the Chinese bad guys are as bad as the non-Chinese ones... but that doesn't stop it being a cringe-fest.

I'm sticking it out for Sandra Ma.

Yeah Shin Hye Sun was the show in my eyes. Without her Jennifer, Yoo Chan and everyone would have gotten on my nerves and the male lead would have been plain old boring.
