I also wonder. Why did so many people got attached to this drama? Indeed like someone else wrote the first episode…
Glad to see am not the only one who isn't digging the romance between Lee Seung Gi and Suzy. Idk, I just don't see the point of it. They barley have romantic moments and when these rare moments occur, it just gets me out of the mood completely. Their chemistry isn't that great to begin with. They make a nice friends/partners vibe but not more than that. Seung Gi at times feel more like her older brother than lover. I also didn't like how they tried at the start to force a love triangle bullshit with Shin Sung Rok. Glad that they didn't keep it for too long. Most interesting female character for me was Lily the Assassin, wish she had more screen time. I really liked her character. About the overall plot, yeah I do agree that there is nothing that unique about this drama apart from the well done action scenes, high budget, them filming it in many countries, and cinematography. The acting and cast are amazing, but most of the episodes are spent on a bunch of old, boring people discussing their evil plans and goals. Even the main leads don't have that much screen time. There are too many flashbacks, plot twists, and villain characters to the point where it gets exhausting after a while. The only things that are making everyone go crazy are the cast (Mostly Lee Seung Gi) and action scenes. They were also the reasons I didn't drop it after episode 4 since it got awfully draggy from there.
I'm 4 episode in and I'm fascinated by this show. I don't think I've watched a Korean drama quite like this. I…
Watched first episode and I was extremely bored during the first half of it, it started getting better in the second half with the younger ML. It's not really that funny, but I guess a bit interesting, I will keep watching till episode 2 or 3 then decide if I want to keep watching it or drop.
Does it get less boring and gloomy after the first 2 episodes? I mean I do dig dark plots but this one is gloomy…
I feel like I know dramas that has all the types of characters you just mentioned lmao Also what makes this drama more tense is the fact that it tells story in the past. When things weren't as high tech as now so investigating was much harder and more stressful since finding evidence was super hard, along with the fact that people mindset was a bit narrow back then (Like how the police force didn't instantly accept the ML's team cause they thought it was a pointless waste of money). Nowadays South Korea is filled with CCTV and other stuff, so committing crimes can't be as easy as in the past.

I understand what you said and I fully agree! Besides most people watch dramas to escape the real world and boredom so they prefer exaggerated, fictional, and exciting plots way more over slice of life/realistic ones. I'm like that as well, but I did watch up to episode 5 and I have to admit, the drama did actually get much better. I felt like I forced myself to watch first two episodes, but from episode 3 I was starting to care about the plot and characters (Especially the male lead and his glasses wearing partner). Their job actually seems intriguing in a way. The acting is flawless so far. If it keeps getting more interesting, I probably wouldn't give it less than an 8 rating by the end.

Actually I only watch Asian dramas so I don't know much about American shows. Especially crime ones. I did watch many crime and psychological Asian dramas and movies. But this one is a bit too slow for me. You said it's first K-drama of this kind, I guess that's why am not used to it. I will stick around and give it a chance till like episode 5 then decide if I want to continue or drop it.
Only first day with out "through the darkness" and I go through withdrawals symptoms for not watching the series.Anyone…
Is it really that good? I watched two episodes till now, but I was awfully bored during them. I can barley even remember what happened in them, does the show really gets better in next episodes?
I rewatched this drama recently and liked it much better the second time around. I made the mistake of watching…
I watched 16 episodes so far and I'm highly enjoying it. Unlike other law dramas which tend to be overly gloomy and suffocating, this one is so easy to watch. I don't feel awfully depressed while watching it. Without realizing I already finished half of it.
I watched 16 episodes so far and god damn, I was struggling to not fall sleep during it. I decided to watch this drama for the trio (Ga Young, Doo Hwan, and Min Jae) and had lots of expectations, but was disappointed greatly. The first two episodes were a bit interesting, but everything started going downhill from there. The plot, the romance, the characters...everything. The FL was supposed to be this cool headed, cold girl who doesn't fall easily for guys and is able to turn down all of them, including foreigners since she doesn't believe in love. Yet it didn't take more than 5 or 6 episodes for her to fall for the ML and get all jealous and emotional over him before they started dating even. She knew something is off about him but she still insisted to give him a chance. Her character was bland as hell. I found myself forgetting about her most of the time. Then we get tortured with the repetitive cycle of them, getting into misunderstandings, crying over it, then they get back together to have cringey lovey dovey moments over and over again. Doo Hwan's character was introduced as the cool, bad boy kinda of guy, but he was more on the pure and naïve side. It didn't take him more than one glance at the FL to fall for her head over heals as if she is the first female he interacted with. He doesn't even deserve his "The Great Seducer" title. Even his way of "seducing" the FL was childish. I noticed many people fighting over Joy's acting skills. I think her acting wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either. I think thanks to the fact that she was casted with actors who already great at acting and well known along with her character being bad written, it didn't allow her to show her full potential. Her acting did lack but it was bearable still. She just need to learn how to make her facial expressions fit with the mood, sometimes her expressions wouldn't go right with the feelings she was supposed to convey. Other times it felt as if she wasn't in the mood to act even. Ga Young's character AKA second FL was just annoying as hell. Selfish, over dramatic, controlling bitch who thinks that the whole world revolves around her. We are supposed to sympathy with her but I found myself sympathizing more with her mother than her. The woman was trying hard to make sure that both of her and her daughter stay wealthy and maintain their status, even sacrificing her happiness in the process, yet all her daughter did was throw a tantrum daily and do stupid shit. Second lead needed some serious therapy and way to handle her serious anger management issues. Min Jae's character was the most interesting and I found myself wanting to know more about him, but I still thought that one of the biggest reasons he got into trouble with his shit family is that he kept doing wrong stuff to deal with the whole issue. Drinking, partying, hanging with girl, running from home...etc he does all that and expect his family to still spoil him somehow?! Overall it was just a story about rich, annoying brats with mommy/daddy issues who have too much free time and money to waste them on doing stupid, pointless, dangerous crap then whine about it later when shit go south. The romance was lackluster and cringey. and I couldn't relate to nor sympathy with any of them. I just didn't care at all. To make it worse they had to add 1000 side characters with their own subplots and romance. As if the romance between the main leads wasn't bad enough, they had to grace us with their parents and friends gross love affairs as well. What is it with Koreans and their obsession with making rich people always seem miserable or evil?!
Well, I watched 16 episodes so far and it's really boring to me. Typical romance Kdrama tropes revolving around annoying rich brats who like acting dramatic over the stupidest stuff. Of course you can still check it yourself since everyone's taste is different, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. The only reason I watched this much is cause I love Woo Do Hwan, Moon Ga Young, and Kim Min Jae. The more you watch the more lackluster and repetitive the plot and characters get.
Also, I agree with everything you mentioned about this drama.
