Only reason I finished watching this was Park Hyung Sik. I felt awfully bored after like an hour and twenty minutes of watching. Also that dude Juror 5 Choi kept getting on my nerves greatly. At times I wished someone would slap him to shut up for eternity. Though he changed a bit in the end.
very good points made. I agree with you on the FL's part. She really seems to be somewhere else and not in her…
Yeah the sister also bothered me greatly with her constant nagging. I also highly dislike the mother. They both get on my nerves. I don't know how the next episodes are gonna be but seeing the 6 ones that came out so far I don't think much will change. Feels like the plot is written by a 13 years old kid or something, everything is getting more and more retarded.
Ep 6 : 1- Glad that the leads didn't allow the stupid misunderstanding at the motel to make them break up, then spend like 3 or 4 episodes whining over it before getting back together like most K-dramas do since that the FL confronted the ML about it instantly. I thought she needed time for herself and want their relationship to not go too fast or whatever she was trying to say before then she all of a sudden like want him to live with her? Like what is going on at this point?! Her sudden changes of mood are making me dizzy.
2- The FL reaction to her mother thing and during telling her father story felt awfully lacking. No matter how cold someone is, their reaction can't be that soulless. I don't know, I guess the actress doesn't seem to nail emotional acting/expressions well? At times it feels as if she isn't trying hard enough to get into her role or something. Like I have seen rookie actors/actresses who are much better than her at doing that. I saw her act in other dramas and I also wasn't a big fan of her acting skills there but it's the worst here. I mean she doesn't need to break down crying or wail like a widow or anything of the sort, but she can show all the emotions needed for the scene using her eyes only like some actors do. Even during the supposedly romantic scenes of her and ML I don't feel convinced at all and I don't feel the chemistry everyone keep talking about. Most of the time she seems dead inside or tired. When she talk at times it feels like a person reading words from a book that they are barely interested in or are forced to read. The romance is moving a bit too fast while the leads aren't catching up to it's speed.
3- I kinda find the whole gambling shit father of ML, FL's father suicide, and sick mother a bit too cliché, like they are trying overly hard to make the plot more emotional and draggy , and make us sympathy with the leads, especially FL by adding it. Why do the main characters always need to have some tragic backstory/dramatic moments?! Also if Shi Woo totally ignored his father since the start, he wouldn't keep bothering him. Why does he keep giving him money to gamble with in the first place which makes him more brazen? He even lives like a stray dog just to give his savings to that scum.
4- The Ex gf and bf whole story is becoming so boring and pointless to me. I'm starting to forget that they exist even with all the screen time they have. They just made them too pathetic and immature it reached a point where I don't even wanna bother getting upset over it. I also don't care about the love story they are tying to start between FL's sister and that neighbor guy.
This episode was even more boring than the previous one. Idk the plot is going downhill for me.
Read a review above saying they could have done this without all the explicit parts and that made me wonder, could…
That's the point. Even without the sex scenes the plot itself is still very mature and 19+. A king who is gay and is madly in love with his guards chief whom he basically raised, decides to let his lover sleep with his queen so that he has a heir and of course the heir is supposed to look like his beloved guard. He even go as far as watching to make sure it happens...etc I think the sex scenes were meaningful since they showed how just simple lust transformed into love and it lead to the ruin of all characters. The more they slept together they more they became obsessed with each other. Many people might not fancy sex scenes, especially if they are too vulgar and non that much related to the plot which is understandable, but they were well done and had a point in this movie. It made the whole thing more realistic. There are many other great movies with more tamed themes than this one which you can recommend to anyone who doesn't really support mature content.
I did tell this drama wasn't gonna be that great from the beginning. Most latest Kdramas aren't that amazing honestly. Especially since many are trying to kind of have the same vibe as American shows.
I agree. Although PMY is my favorite actress, I am not liking her role here. This role of hers is different, I'm…
Exactly! I don't know if she is insecure yet tries to hide it with acting stuck up to get over the embarrassment of her mistakes, or she actually view herself as a great human being who knows it all. If she really don't want any mistakes to happen then she should always keep an eye on everything.
But he wavered for like a millisecond when she told him that her husband got to know about them. I didn't like…
That's one of my biggest pet peeves actually, how she keeps messing up and never get scolded. She is getting treated like a spoiled child whom their parents allow them to do whatever and pass it with the excuse of them being young. In real world she would get fired or demoted since like episode three.

Yes, I watched it and made a long comment about it already (Which you can check, if you want). I agree with what you said. The more I watch the more frustrated I get! Everything about her way of acting, talking, thinking...etc all are a huge chaos. I'm starting to consider dropping the drama at this point. Only reason I'm staying is for Song Kang and that's about it. The writer totally ruined her character honestly. Everyone in her team are way better than her.
