I feel like it's a bit late to bring a new villain to the game in episode 32. Zhu Rong was the main bad guy and well, adding someone else just feels like them trying to prolong the episodes.

I believe this is a new work and not an adaption from a book. So no clue about the end since we're not there yet :)

She takes almost no time off work :) She just had her longest break this summer for almost two months, except brand duties.

Hello! As Shen Yue is mostly in modern romcoms, which I almost never watch, I can't really comment on that. From others comments I guess she a mostly typcast in these type of roles. I think they look cute together but does not really feel any sparks yet either. But then again chemistry is different for every watcher I think. I think Chen Zhe Yuan is a bit to cute looking for this role haha. I think he looks very young.

I think this is a good casual watch but I am disappointed Xiao Wudi basically turned into your typical modern romcom guy after 2 episodes. He doesn't feel like he is from a "historical" book at all. Wish they had used this plot a bit more since that makes quite fun comedy.

Would have been even more confusing if they were in the same era but different partner xD

Well as someone else commented down below Nan Xing created him, and she is apparently not great at making villains. So he is more of a ancient "modern" guy who is a bit shameless. He didn't even kill people in that short intro in her book, so I don't think he was ever meant to be that dangerous.

This is definitively one of those dramas that can be a bit hard to get into right at the start, but they really did craft a good drama I think. Not to everyone's liking ofc but I know there were quite a few that dropped it after 1-2 episodes and at that time they haven't really gotten a time to show you what they've got. I hope you either end up enjoying this or find something else that makes you happy watching.

They get engaged in episode 24.

As the previous said it starts to move faster after episode four. But most of part 1 is slower especially compared to part 2 where more action actually happen.

I enjoyed seeing more developed side characters so I did not mind the longer conversations that was had between them.

Another thing I like in this drama is that there are so many different women, we do not just have one or two types but very many women with different personalities.

There will be less screechy women as well, second aunt is not a problem for long, and the grandma gets funnier later when she has less screentime and is not egged on to do stupid things.

I also think that the director is really talented, there are many great shots that I was really impressed with. If you feel up for it I would say at least stick around to episode 8, since the ball gets rolling faster by then.

Court intrigue is not always fun. If you enjoy the rest that is good :)

They changed it so it's just 3 years difference. I also don't think it's weird that a 13 year old have a crush on someone older, it's a common occurrence. What would be weird and off putting is if the older male had a crush on a 13 year old girl.

Well at the moment I think Lu Ling Feng mostly bickers with Su Wu Ming. I imagine it might be a workplace sort of bromance later on.

Tian Zao and Tie Dan are the parents of Xiao Min, the next chapters lead character. But other then that I believe the rest won't be present.
