I honestly really really really loved this episode.
Though I wished I had a punching bag near me coz Aoey and all the "fans" made me soooo mad haha But I can't even hate him, I just pity him. He's such a well written character in my opinion. I was so mad at him for his live, he has absolutely no right to do this thing. Gene never has and will never love him, and Nubsib is just a costar in a FICTION, he has no right to act like what Sib and Gene are doing is bad. That is so wrong.
And those last scenes ... It tear me apart ! They both don't deserve this, and yet I understand both their point of view. Nubsib only cares about Gene and wants to be with him more than his wants his career, which is so precious but then again Gene's right that Sib needs to think about others and his future and stop acting like money grows on trees ! But Gene should listen to Nubsib more and talk to him before making such a decision, it's his life after all and he promised they'd overcome conflits together. But then again, poor Gene has such low self-esteem and this relationship is still new, he just came out to himself and his family, and suddenly all eyes are on him judging him and pressuring him from everyside, I get how it could be a lot to handle and he'd think that breaking up would be the easiest solution..It requires a lot of strenght to face everyone else and the media.. They're both in a difficult position with no choice that wouldn't hurt them. And Sib is right when he said that even if they'd agree to this, the team would find other ways to break them apart later. This time they say 4 months, but what happens when it's over ? Coz if they announce the relationship they'll get the same backlash as they did, cause those "SibAoey" fans would still ship them even after the series end. And on his next project would the team let him date Gene ? It's like a neverending circle and Nubsib understood that. That's what even though it "could" technically be possible for them to lay low for 4 months, stay at home or only call, it'd wouldn't end that easily after those 4 months are over. And even if Nubsib quits, the toxic fans would still hate on him and Gene, and that's so difficult to handle.. I really hope they find a way to love each other while both being at peace with what's going on and not care about others! More importantly I really hope those people educate themselves and stop meddling in other people's lives as it it belonged to them. Like who gave those fans or Aoey the right to have a say in their relationship ! It infuriates me so bad haha
Aah the toxicity of the industry.. I'll never understand those "fans" who think they get to decide who an actor should or shouldn't love. What makes them think they have this right.. Real life and fiction are two things. As an actress myself it makes me so mad when people don't understand that.. Acting is an ACT, as Meisner said : “Acting is behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances.” IMAGINARY CIRCUMSTANCES ! And how does one dating someone other than their castmate affect their acting? Nubsib was so right, dating Gene doesn't make him less of a good actor. So why should it be taken into account ? How does one's love life has to do with one's job ? Fan service is cute and all, but only if the fans are truly aware that it's not real and just promoting a series, I'm not saying most of them aren't great friends, but just because they played a couple doesn't mean they are one. Can you imagine if actors dated every partner they had during their career xD If you're truly a fan, shouldn't you want your idol's happiness before all ?
Anyway, sorry, i had to vent since nobody I know watches this series hahahah If you've read until then, thank you and respect haha The take away is I loved this episode, truly. I made me feel so much emotions, and that's what I want from a series.
Am I the only one who doesn't know what to think of this series ? Like I don't know if I dislike it or if I like it ? hahaha
I mean it's full of cliches and tropes with all the stalking and weird fujoshi obsession (like WTF girl! ), the way it's shot seems really sloppy and soap-opera like, and the main lead (XLC) is really annoying like he's always overacting its tireing, very 2-dimensional and why on earth would you think it's okay to put your best friend through this just to get a girl (and when did you think sending a picture of you sneakily kissing your crush while he's sleeping was a good idea ? Like, consent dude, had I been that girl I would've been like "hell no dude, you can't do that ! Play fair to get him, wait to have his consent" ).
But at the same time, I keep wanting to watch it and know what's going to happen, like maybe they'll actually adress all of those in the next episodes who knows! Maybe that's the growth the characters will have, at least I hop. Also the three friends have a really sweet friendship and you see they'll do anything for each other. And MuRen even though we've just seen the surface of his character he's like a cute baby. I like Ye Xing Si though, he's like the only one who seems composed and who actually thinks and is reasonnable (like I'm glad he had his brother apologize for his actions at least!) haha
All of that being said, to me (that's only my opinion based on my likings) it doesn't hold a candle to past HIStory stories like Trapped or Crossing The Line. But then again I guess the team isn't the same either which explains it. A title is a title, but what makes a show is the team behind it, so different teams, different outcomes. (Plus I'm bias to Lin Pei You so.. hehe)
I guess I'll keep watching and hope they'll improve all this and the show will get deeper and less cliche, so they can prove me wrong and convince me that I like it !
As much as I love this series, it's giving me a headache haha
Though, I was wondering, didn't JHK from the future version (the young cop) say that when there is two of the same person at a time, they merge and one version takes over ? Coz, he was back at the same time his younger self was alive too, and same with Seo Hae in the present timeline she's like 8y/o. But yet nothing has happened .. Just wondering. Does it take some time maybe ? And if so, will she somehow "merge" with her younger self ? Those time paradoxes are hurting my head hahaha
Also I think the first traveler in the subway was Han-Tae Sul himself.. Kinda looked like him, and would make sense if you invent a time machine to be the first one using it I guess.
And does Seo-Hae manage to change some things I wonder.. Cuz she had her future-future self's diary with everything she needs to do to save HTS, and I guess everything that she wasn't able to do in that timeline. So I'm wondering if she's actually changing things this time around, or if she jsut ends up doing exacly what was written.. That's the whole who came first tale actually haha Like did she save HTS at the conference because she wrote it and she knew she had to be the one to save him, or did she write about saving him because that's what she did at that time ! hahaha
Time loops are the worst for my brain who loves to overanalyze things haha But I do love it though !
I dont think 5 years was intentional? The preview for Ep 2 seems to say that Sam couldnt find him for the next…
Yeah I don't think it was intentional either, I believe it wasn't a year of total silence though, just answering less and less. My guess is that Shi De' step-father was really sick, and Shi De had to take care of his family and the business and didn't have as much time as before to answer, and I mean, that'd make sense if your family was sick.. I think he knew that meant he couldn't go back to Taiwan right away and maybe for a few years, and was afraid to tell Shou Yi. But when he finally gathered up the courage, and his StepDad was cured, Shou Yi had already misunderstood him and the baby (which I'm guessing is his brother) and wouldn't let him contact him anymore. Then after 2 years Shi De went back to Taiwan to find him, and my guess is Shou Yi's father entered the picture and somehow it ended up with Shi De not being able / allowed to contact Shou Yi. Not sure if the father's like totally against it or more like "prove yourself first" though. But let's not forget Shi De, as much as he's loving and caring, he thinks a lot on his own and believes he knows and does what's best for Shou Yi (like when he pushed him away when SY learnt about his feelings), so I wouldn't put it past him that he somehow was guilt-tripped by SY's father into thinking it would be best for SY if they broke up. Until he finally gathered up the courage to fight whatever's against them. Or until he realized he couldn't live without being SY's lover anyway. Or finally think he's worthy of him. Dunno !
But right now SY's way to mad to even let SD explains anything. He knows that, I think that's why he's trying to stay by his side to gain back his trust and finally get a chance to explain.
Just my theory though haha But guess it makes some sense :P
I really don't know how to feel about this. It seems so melodramatic.. I mean I get the misunderstanding and how it'd feel hurtful on the spot, but to completely stop talking to your BF for like 5 years cuz of this without even asking for any kind of explanation and just breaking-up, when that said boyfriend keeps telling you he misses you and reaches out to ? Seems a bit far-stretched for an outspoken character like Shou Yi even if he feels insecure or anything.. I mean, it's just a baby and a woman, how could the ONLY explanation you come up with is that they're Shi De's girlfriend and kid !
I really really hope there's more to it in season 2 ! Because I really really love this series and characters, the writing was great, please let's not make it too soap-opera!
And I mean, did nobody on Shi De's side knew that Shou Yi was coming to America ? Because otherwise I don't see how he found Shi De so easily xD I mean I can't even find my own friends in my own city in a 5km radius without them texting me where they are, so how on earth did he just find Shi De as a "surprise" in another country all by himself haha Is he a seer or what xD Or maybe he told Shi De's mom, but then she'd have told Shi De about it, so I guess not..
Hello! New to the board, here!I watched Ep 11 and wanted to ask about Inspector M's motivation to help Tan and…
No actually the remark Tan makes about getting his revenge is kind of a joke/teasing, like M came up with this plan to help them but he could've found a way where no one got "fake shot" and in a little pain, but M suggested this way (with the bulletproof vest) to get his "revenge" on Bun confronting him many times. He knew they'd hurt a little but they would'nt be in like excruxiating pain or die. Because he truly meant to help them, I believe deep down he believes in doing the right thing andhe finally saw through the lies of the commander and the truth since he followed Tan when he was kidnapped by the commander ^^ Hope it helps!
I so agree with you here, I had forgotten that moment with the random guy actually ! But Fiat and Leo's relationship…
I know it hurts to see Leo so upset ! But I'm sure Fiat's going to realise how much Leo means to him in the end ^^ I mean, he already knows he means a lot to him, he just needs to realize his feeling are romantic ;)
Yes I am well trying to haha Not easy ^^' I'm also a costumer sometimes that's why I pay attention to how characters dress and noticed the necklaces haha I think that's a good detail added by their costume designer to show their closeness :P Yeah come to me in MP if you want I'll give you a link ! It's mainly short films I've been in so far haha
I personally think that it's pretty obvious that Leo has feelings for Fiat. I think the fact that he flew back…
I so agree with you here, I had forgotten that moment with the random guy actually !
But Fiat and Leo's relationship reminds me so much of Where Your Eyes Linger!! They've been in a very close relationship for so long that they take it for granted and dare not think it'll ever change. It's clear Leo love Fiat, as for Fiat, I'm sure he does but whether he realizes it or not I'm not sure but at least he knows he's very important to him. But i think because no one's ever come in between them, and because acting up on their possible feelings would threatened their relationship, they just keep going like this because it's comfortable and safe. I think Leo thought it would be okay to keep his feelings for him and just be friends as long as Fiat was by his side, but didn't realise that one day Fiat might like someone and grow apart from him. As for Fiat he seems to take Leo's affection for granted and I'm pretty sure it's going to bite him in the ass somewhere down along the road of this season.. They say you realise what you have only once you've lost it right ? So I think with his obession with Type, he's going to lose Leo in a way, and realise that this "bubble relationship" they were in cannot go on forever.. At some points, feelings need to be adressed. And if no one takes the first step..
And as you see I also overanalysed this shit haha That's a hobby of mine as an actress I looooove analysing behaviour haha
PS: Did anyone notice they have matching necklaces they wear all the time ? So cute
I really hope he doesn’t cheat on her or something like that, because if the writers turn his character into…
I don't think they'll go there, I think it might be like he got a job offer but somewhere far or another city that would mean for his wife to either quit her job or change companies which is why he says it's not the right time to tell her, because he always puts her first ! at least that's my thought ^^
hey, can you interpret it for us. I watched twice, but still not sure about the timeline. Why does it say 2021,…
Here's my take on it : The audition takes place before. If you remember after this audition in ep1 he goes back by bus with his brother, and later on there's this discussion about him not wanting to take the bus so that's why his brother bought him a plane ticket after they got the news that he's been accepted ! If you can remember he said there is a special direct admission process, that's the one he took and passed (that's what it written above the interviewers in the first scene), and then there's the normal admission process. Teh and Oh Aew both took that early admission audition, when Teh's on the phone in ep1 in the university hall you can see Oh Aew also coming. Except he didn't get in, Teh did. So now Oh Aew needs to go through the normal admission process and needs to do well on his exams (also he's on the waiting list due to this first audition). Also the interviewer asks him what he'd say to his friend "if he passes this exam", which means it has to be before he was accepted. And actually script-wise it also makes senses, at the end of ep1 , he DID pass the exam and he WAS ABLE to tell Oh Aew everything he wanted to. He did exactly what the interviewers forshadowed. As for 2021, I just think it's because the series was either supposed to air in 2021, or meant to be later than now, maybe to correlate with a scholar year or something. Also don't forget, 2020 doesn't exist xD
Yes. It is all point for a sad ending, If you Re-watch episode 1, you will see the audision that Teh is crying…
Well to me, the audition takes place before. If you remember after this audition in ep1 he goes back by bus with his brother, and later on there's this discussion about him not wanting to take the bus so that's why his brother bought him a plane ticket after they got the news that he's been accepted ! So now Oh Aew needs to go through the normal admission process and needs to do well on his exams (also he's on the waiting list due to this first audition) And the whole crying thing, it's because he's remiscing about the time they were children and got along, and their fight.. He still cares for him. He just doesn't know how to approach him again.. that's what he tells him later on in ep 1. So what he says to the auditors, it's what he wanted to say to Oh Aew but didn't have the guts to do, what he actually finally did at the end of ep 1. :) Hope that helps !!
I’m so scared one of them is going to die. For some reason the title “I told the sunset about you” sounds…
I actually also had that thought.. Like you said with the title, which we know now can refer to the promise they made to run to the sunset.. and the whole Oh Aew on the waiting list.. and the MV.. I had this thought that maybe something will happen to Teh, and Oh Aew will live their dream for the both of them, and run to this place and "tell the sunset" about his love..
But NO !!!!! I don't agree with that kind of ending haha Even though I'm sure it'd be extremely beautiful and powerful, I really don't want a sad ending like that.. :'( Fingers crossed !
Though I wished I had a punching bag near me coz Aoey and all the "fans" made me soooo mad haha But I can't even hate him, I just pity him. He's such a well written character in my opinion. Coz if they announce the relationship they'll get the same backlash as they did, cause those "SibAoey" fans would still ship them even after the series end.
