I liked all the couples. They gave more screen time to the first couple and, since their story was mostly a family drama in the Estate, it began to feel draggy after awhile. The second couple may not have been given as much screen time but they were given a better story line IMO. Everything was outdoors and there was a lot of action. Overall, a good, light drama with maybe the need to skip here and there.

Also, it was sad because he turned down the role of Tushan Jing in Lost You Forever for this role and LYF turned out to be a big hit. He started out with Bai Lu, same agency. She's had some great scripts lately thus I hope the same for Xu Kai.

For a minute, I thought I was watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre they killed off so many people. Overall, a good series, especially the way the mystery unfolded near the end. However, killing off 2 of the main leads and especially the ML's loved one was a bit much.

I came back to see if the comments showed it getting better after ep. I didn't even make it through the first episode. At first, I thought maybe the first episode was like the fairy garden at the beginning of Ashes of Love; however, everything is just so over the top.

Yes, I'm sad the script followed the premise you mentioned as a Xu Kai series should be rated much higher.

I like her too as the maid; however, there are so many wonderful actors both male and female who are hitting 30 y/o already that everyone loves and keeps making comments that they wish they'd get a lead role. Unfortunately, most of them never did, which is confounding to a lot of MDLers. I think it depends on if they signed up with a powerhouse agency. I'm hoping this actress was fortunate to have signed up with a better agency and doesn't stagnate in a lot of support roles.

Mu and Wu are the reason she lost her brother as they were targeting her in a plot. There was another unknown group of assassins that day as well. ZXW has been patiently waiting for the day that he can approach her when she no longer has ties to his brother. I fail to understand why he should mind the women in his abode who are scheming against what he wants all the time. It will be interesting to see if ZYL ends up with any woman in the end.

I feel a little sorry for the actress. They've given her the role of a maid in a couple of series lately. At least in The Blood of Youth she got the role of a Divine Healer to the King.

That slap down she gave her ex when he showed up on her brother's funeral day was worth a second watch. What woman would want someone that indecisive.

Me as well, plus in ancient times, they had what the Uncle acknowledges as "House Rules" for punishment and maintaining the order of the complex and she definitely broke those in a big way.

He was the ML with his beloved in Your Sensibility My Destiny but that one was a bit draggy. I like his role here much better.

IKR, even if she comes out ok in the end with Rong, being the cause of your entire family's demise would make it hard to be totally happy in the future.
