I watched 36 & 37 then had to stop. I felt overwhelmed by anticipation? I ont know but I’ve been weird about watching the last episodes of the dramas that capture me. Like I don’t want them to end. Even just really good dramas like My Royal Nemesis. I’ve yet to watch the last 2. I’m weird like that. I used to do the same thing to books. Like I’m delaying the letdown.

Flew by with 10 minute episodes is what it felt like!

I wondered if the hints of like a man made disaster was referring to the fact the ED sealed the mountain and they stuck to their principal of dying for what they believed in.

So far, it’s tame jealousy compared to novel!

When did you read the novel?
Since I started after the drama I can picture the drama characters as the novel characters.
Except Ye Li.
While I feel Bai Lu is absolutely right for the drama I’m not sure for the novel. Except when she was Master Zhu(?).
The character is much more feminine in the drama.

I’m reading the novel now. I’m on ch242. And I love it. If you really like the drama it’s worth a read. It’s like an alternate universe hahaha

I started it just after the drama began so I’m reading it in any moments I have between other obligations and even have it open to read while certain dramas are airing that I find myself not glued to like Love Like Fireworks and the recently finished Ashes to Crown. I should learn to drop anything that doesn't bring me complete joy like this drama but after I start something I feel I need to see it through.

A descent into madness is not retribution at all! It always leaves me angry. Being out of your mind isn’t punishment.

The novel is wildly different but I’m loving it! I discovered with A Splendid Match I can love both the drama and the noble even though they’re so different.
