They criticized everything --- even the angles of the light on the actors / actresses. They're quick to judge without knowing the facts - they looked only on the physical aspects of the show. These viewers wanted that the drama and its casts/characters should conform to what they like - and they even write as if they are the Director and Scriptwriter of the said drama. And so when their passions are not filled up with what they expect - the casts in the drama are being targeted. And this is one issue which besets most Entertainment Industry - the viewers are writing as they know everything under the sun . . So, slanders, defamations, insults were hurled into the celebrities . . Either they build the acting career of an actor or actress or either they destroy it completely.
** The way you coined your words have that one aspects of what this drama is being addressed upon. The emotional trauma of being abused by one's parents, who in the first place, should be the very first person to defend and cared for their children indefinitely. In reverse, we have the parents who are more than too happy to see their children are suffering rather than them . . . .
